The problem is I'm in Germany and tho my surgeon gave me info it's just something that they printed from the internet so that it could be in English, but the info thy gave me versus what their NUT is telling me so it's a little confusing so I've just been following the info I had from my previous surgeon in the states, until I can get in to see a NUT on the base where I'm stationed! So I just wanted some insight until I can get in to see someone Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

In sure you will be, just stick to the diet as much as possible and as soon as you're feeling strong enough get up and walk as much as you can! Good luck with your surgery tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm now 2 weeks post op and I'm down 14 lbs but I begin my mushy/purée food stage today, did anyone notice a change in weight loss once they advanced to this stage? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

28lbs is awesome progress, I'm hoping to so get to that number by the time I'm 4 weeks post op, which will be in 2 weeks! 28-30 lbs loss is my first goal I wanted to get to! I think you should be thrilled with those results seriously, that's 28lbs off your body, do you notice the difference? Have you started doing any exercising yet? I have not taken measurements, I suppose I should! I know that inches are coming off because I tried on a pair of jeans that I haven't been able to get into since last summer and they were a little snug but I could button them so maybe another 5lb loss and I should be comfortable in them! I started walking as of Monday, and I actually feel pretty good, so I will continue to do that just to try and make sure these lbs and inches keep coming off ! Yea in the first week I lost 10lbs but last week I only lost 4 which I'm not complaining at all, but I've heard since I wasn't "that big" to begin with I would loose slower than someone who was "heavier." Have you found that exercising helps increase the weight loss? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Anyone starting weight at 200 lbs? Help :)
Mrs.Snipes replied to asolanom's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I started at 200 lbs I was sleeved on 7/11 so I'll be 2 weeks post op tomorrow and so far I've lost 12 pounds not as much as some stories I've seen/read of say someone who weighed more but I'm still happy with this loss it's just the jump start I needed, and the tool I was after to help me get my health as weight loss back on track! Pain around large incision
Mrs.Snipes replied to CNOEL3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6 days post op now and I'm experiencing the same thing with my largest incision and the one I had my drainage tube in, not sure it's normal or not I just assumed those were where the most trauma took place Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App See, I never had any drainage tubes... is that normal? I mean like I said, the actual incisions all look really good, there's just the severe pain around the largest one. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App Not sure, I know years ago when my mom had bypass surgery she came home with drainage tubes but that was back when they had to cut you open, but I was sleeved here in Germany so I think that practices are just different than in the states they keep you for 5-6 days after surgery, my first failed attempt at the surgery in the states where Dr somehow punctured my colon I was sent home after 2 days, so I'd say they are just much more cautious here Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

The 3rd day was the worst for me too, it's getting better tho, I'm now 5 days post op and being discharged today, im very happy to be going home, but walking has really helped, I think it was just hard for me to walk for a long time initially cause I was so swollen and drugged up but they took me off IV meds shortly after this post and I started feeling better and able to walk longer so that has helped! Good luck on your journey, I'd love to keep in contact and follow each other's progress! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sorry to hear that, I'm in Germany my husband is military so were stationed here, and there policies for this surgery require a minimum 5-6 day stay in hospital, today is post op day 5 for me and I finally get to go home, I'm happy that they required me to stay because Thursday was the first day o started feeling back to normal and able to get up and move about without the help of the nurse! I attempted the bypass surgery in the states and as soon as Dr. got started he punctured my colon and I had the worst experience ever as far as treatment from nurses and surgeon for that matter and I was sent home 2 days later! Anyways I hope you find some relief soon, and I will definitely let you know if I find any kind of remedy for the gas situation! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App So far I've just tried to walk for 10 minutes as soon as I'm done eating, and trying not to inhale as I take in my food, it sounds crazy but I'll kind of put the spoon in my mouth blow all the air out and then quickly close my mouth and remove the spoon, I've gotten some relief from that.
