I really love Ryka's. They're made specifically for women's feet and they have a nice cushion to them. Try a bunch on and see what works for you. Good Luck!

1/15 B: pb'd on milk L: 2 ritz crackers & 3 bites potato soup, then PAIN D: feeling better - protein shake, 2 whole wheat crackers w/peanut butter, 1 pepperoni w/cheese (from kid's pizza) S: Sugar free pudding Water: not nearly enough Exercise: Nope, not today -
I started Jazzercise about 2 months ago - I love it! When I started I did very low impact and started out slow and went about 3 times per week. Now I'm up to high impact and I go about 6 times a week. I love the atmosphere - there are all kinds of people - young, older, overweight, underweight, normal. I did Curves a couple of years ago and liked it alot for a while. It's a very easy and gentle way of getting into the routine of exercise, but I found that after a while it just wasn't enough for me. I had a hard time keeping my heart rate up enough after a few months.

Searching for Dr Kuri Updates
shanna replied to the best me's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Ok, this is what I know. I had a problem yesterday of being too tight so I called the Kuri office and was told to come in for an unfill (even though he does fills on Tuesdays/Thursdays-so that was very nice) They gave me the address and the hospital where his new office is is beautiful....Brand new, huge, etc. So I go up to his office and oh, wow, so much nicer and more beautiful. More places to sit and his actual office is so nice - cherry furniture, leather couches. Kuri's other dr (forgot his name) is the one that did the unfill and because they're still kind of moving in there was no patient table so he did my unfill on his brand new leather couch. That was weird. But everything is much bigger/more beautiful. As to why JoAnne didn't respond-I don't know. I had called her first yesterday and she was on the phone, so I spoke to someone else at her office so I know she's around. Probably busy. I don't know if that is going to be the location for regular fills but I may have that answered today. I think I may still be too tight. If so, I'll go today during their regular fill time. If I do, I'll give you the scoop. -

B: 1/4 c. hot chocolate-threw up 3x CALLED DR-HE SAID TO COME IN THIS AFTERNOON FOR UNFILL L: tiny, tiny sips of water-PAIN Went to Dr.-took me from 3.3 to 2.8/no fluoro Came home to try tomato soup-PAIN still. HAS MY BAND SLIPPED??? If it's not better by morning I'll call again and get it done by fluoro. I'm sooooo sad, HUNGRY, worried..... I'm praying tomorrow is a better day-maybe I'm just sore... -
Absolutely, I'd love going with another bandster. That way my poor husband doesn't have to sit there for hours with me. I'm not sure when I'm going to need to go next....I've been waaaay too tight yesterday and today. I may need to have a slight unfill if I don't get better real soon. I'm having a hard time getting liquids down. Sorry, I just had to use that smiley-gross, huh.

I had my first fill in November and my period in December was fine because my fill hadn't really "kicked in" yet. But today, WOW, I am cramping and unable to eat AT ALL. Water was difficult this morning, but not too painful and I was able to SLOWLY get down a yogurt smoothie but at lunch time I sat down to eat and was finishing my water when I started hurting so bad I couldn't even take 1 bite. I put my lunch back in the fridge and then up came the water that I drank. I'm hoping by this evening it loosens up a little so I can drink something with substance...I'm hungry. But....I am very glad that I am not so open I could eat a horse. I think I'd rather have it this way (but this is only day 1).:ermm

Fills for me are free w/o fluoro or $70 w/ fluoro....self pay (The 1st fill [and only] I had was w/fluoro-good thing, too, because the doc needed to adjust it several times during that 1 visit).

How long does your Dr. have you wait between fills
shanna replied to Firecallie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
4 weeks for me, too...and it's a good thing, too, because I thought I needed a little more fill but right at that 4 week time frame I got even tighter. I SO don't need that "little bit more" now! -
It's only been a few days, you may still have some swelling from the fill. Maybe try going back to mushies for a day or 2, then start with solids again slowly and chew, chew, chew very small bites. It's a whole new way of eating your food with the band. I'm still learning every day. Some days are better than others. Yesterday I was able to eat Ok - no pain, small amounts....but today has been very difficult - a lot of pain on VERY little food.....Each day is a little different and for me, I just take each day at a time. I'm praying for a good day tomorrow, cause I'm hungry! Also, make sure you're able to get your water in or call your doctor because you can get dehydrated very quickly and if you PB it's important to do liquids the rest of the day and sometimes even the next day to allow the swelling to go down from being irritated. Good luck in finding what works for you!

Your current fill may take 2-3 weeks to "kick in". I know mine sure did. It doesn't make any sense but it happens to a lot of people.

Hi! "Ditto" to Kim and Kathy. I had a question about 3 or 4 days after surgery and called his office. I was immediately patched through to his cell phone and he talked to me personally. It wasn't even an emergency - that showed real concern for his patients that you just don't see here in America.
