  1. I was banded on March 10th, and I eat any healthy foods that I want. I eat the boneless Chicken breasts, salads, lots of Flounder, tuna....Pretty much anything I want...Just make sure you chew! But so far, I haven't had a problem with any foods. I get my first fill on Tuesday and I have lost 22 pounds.

First Fill Today -- Positively PAINLESS!!!

Thank you for this info...My first fill will be on Tuesday. Can't wait!
  3. That feeling will fade away BIG TIME! But enjoy it while it lasts!!!
  4. I know you want to lose, but look at the bright side...You aren't gaining.....You should be proud!!! I would be happy if I was where you are....86lbs is a lot!!!!
  5. you are right...right now, i still only read certain things on the site, because when i read about someone's diet or someone's problem, i start looking for it to happen to me.....But i have come to realize all people are different and the band procedure is pretty much always tolerated differently.

    What to do until fill????

But I have no fill, either...I don't get my first fill until May 6th.....And I have lost 22 pounds....

    What to do until fill????

I don't understand why everyone is hungry....Pls enlighten me because maybe I am doing something wrong. I was banded on 3/10 and will have my first fill on May 6th. I have just been eating my normal food. I eat baked chicken and salad and whatever I want. Not junk food and most certainly not a lot, but I just eat until I feel my tightness and then I stop...I am not starving and I'm not sitting wanting food....Am I wrong???

    Chewing Gum

I have never had a problem with gum....I have tons of sugarless gum....I'm grown, so I know not to swallow it, so I don't see where it could hurt. For me, it actually curbs the hunger.....
  10. You know what? I was banded on 3/10/08, and i was having second thoughts when I came to this site. I was hearing people having so many problems that I thought all of that stuff was going to happen to me. A friend told me not to even come back to this site until after I experienced the surgery for myself....And he was right....Most of the issues other people had, I didn't have. That's not to say that this site isn't helpful, because it totally is, but you just have to remember that everyone's situation is different. Kinda like childbirth...One person will tell you how horrible it is and the next person will say it's a breeze...Most problems with the band are brought on by people not following directions, anyway. But get the band....It will make you sooo better!!! Hope this helps!
  11. Stay off the scale.....checking your weight everyday will drive you insane.....I was banded March 10th and have only checked my weight twice. I haven't even bought a scale.....But I found a trick to see if i am losing weight. I love the LiveStrong bracelets...(Now they make them for pretty much anything).....Anyway, at my highest weight, the bracelet was tight on my wrist....Now I wear 2 and they are super loose....It may not help much but it's a sign for me to see that I am losing, even if it doesn't show on the scale. I can even spin my watch on my wrist effortlessly.....

    Protein drinks

I use Whey Protein mix from WalMart...it's $14, and it works really well and tastes good......I hate those nasty bullets! LOL
  13. I can have soda every once in a while and I have had no issues...I guess different things work and don't work for different people.

    Just want to share

ooooh, you are just like me...I started solids last Thurs and I just KNEW I gained.....I checked yesterday and lost 2 pounds!!! Yay me!!!!

    Exercise

I walk the treadmill everyday for 30 to 45 minutes......May not be a lot, but it helps!

    Your diet

it's is soooo good, easy to make, and very close to "real food"...but still relatively healthy. I was able to eat on the pan that I made for like 3 days, then I was sick of it....LOL
  17. Walking and Gas X Strips saved me....It didn't make it totally go away, but it helped!
  18. I am 4 weeks out as of today and I am doing solids. I limit myself to 1050 calories a day. But the first few weeks I was good if I got 500 calories in. I don't have a fill and I'm comfy with 1050 a day as of now.

    Your diet

As far as mushies, I did chicken salad, tuna, grits, oatmeal, basically anything that can be mushed up and swallowed easily( but not potatoes...they seem to hinder weight loss, at least for me). WalMart has these bags of Flounder and when you put them in the oven for 20 minutes, they mush up really well. I also made what you can call a meatless lasanga(sp). I got Ricotta cheese, Mozarella cheese, and American cheese, and spaghetti sauce...Layered all that up and baked it for 30 minutes....It was goood and very filling. Hope this helps a little bit.....

    Chicken Salad???

I am on mushies, but I don't puree anything....I smush the food up, but as for chicken salad and tuna, I eat that normal....Just be sure to chew, but I haven't had any issues.....

    Do not starve yourselves!

Well, everyone is different...I count calories and I do under 1000 a day....
  22. I'm not scared at all of my first fill...coming May 6....I can't wait! I feel like I can eat too much right now. I like the fact that I will be able to eat so little and be busting full......
  23. Was banded 3/10/08...Have lost 16 1/2........

    Trouble telling my therapist

I would tell her...Just let her know that you have been doing research and that you feel that this would benefit your health. If you still think that she would affect the Psych Eval portion of the approval, go to another Psych just for your approval.

    Food Processor/Blender

I use a regular blender, and it puree's just as well as a Magic Bullet....
