    I'm going through the same thing. I found out before what my new insurance will need and started the supervised 6 month dieting. The new insurance said as long as everything is documented they will accept it. Call Aetna meritain and see if they will accept the documents.     A total weight gain? Like you weighed more at your final weigh in than you did when you started? Or did you gain a pound or so while doing your weigh ins?

    Why would a surgeons office even schedule surgery without the approval? Or maybe schedule it further out until they know for sure? Just curious if this happens often?

  12. I too am concerned with this and cannot get a straight answer from the insurance company. So ask the surgeon and ask the insurance.

  17. I am not on the insurance that covers it until January so I haven't seen the surgeon yet. So my question is if I start in January then have to do 90 days of appointments about when am I looking at a possible surgery? Pending I am approved of course?

    I just spoke with the surgeons office and she said my plan Aetna ppo said no weight gain at all. Take laxatives and starve yourself now!!!
  19. Do the surgeons at Bailey require a weight loss once you start the program with them? I know some surgeons require you lost weight prior to them submitting to insurance. I am on the borderline bmi with no cormibs.

  25. They go by your original weight of what? I have not seen the surgeon but started the 6 month with my pcp and weighed in?
