I was sleeved on 10/06 and returned to work on 10/24 ... so I took off a little over two weeks. I should've taken the third week. I donot have a problem with getting in my Protein and fluids, but I'm tired by noonish everyday. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My sleeve was done as outpatient and I loved it! I spent about 5 hours in recovery but was home and being cared for. My surgeon did call me that night to check on me. I was nervous about it being outpatient but my surgeon gave me anti nausea, anti-spasm, pain and lovenox rx's weeks before surgery so I had access to everything as soon as I came home. It wasn't traditional but it worked for me. I haven't had any issues with nausea or gas, no vomiting. I did do walking as much as I can stand and my incisions healed pretty well. Atkins protein lift, I've seen those in the supermarket and Walmart. Isopure I found those at GNC and the Vitamin shoppe. I went with GENEPRO, it has 30g of protein in a tablespoon and is flavorless and odorless, I mix it with my Water with a little crystal light and that gives me two in one liquids and proteins, I got this at gnc. I could not stomach sweetness in the Atkins lift water post op, it was a bit much for me right now . I'm day 4 post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi I had my drain removed by my surgeon the very next day I'm not sure how long you're supposed to keep that in my doctor said I didn't need to keep it in longer ... can you call the surgeon in Mexico to see if it take it out now. Hi! I have surgery date of October 06, 2016. I'm super excited, but my only concern is that my surgeons office have not submitted the paperwork through to my insurance company. Is this normal to schedule the surgery date without submitting to the insurance. I have Aetna and my coworker who has a larger bmi than I told me that her surgeon (different surgeon completely) was not able to get her approved. She was vague and mentioned that Aetna wanted her to wait another year to see how her weight held. I was on a high now I just don't know! Thank you guys for all being super supportive! There was a problem at Aetna, that they acknowledged they had only assigned a nurse to my case as of this morning. So it literally sat at Aetna for 10 days. I'm glad you had a different experience, I hope @cjark220 is better than mine too Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I have Aetna and for me it has been not a good experience. My md office sent in all the info on sept 21. I called and confirmed they had everything on the 22nd. I called everyday there after including today..... My prior authorization is STILL PENDING and my surgery is scheduled for October 6. I feel so angry. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Im Scheduled for October 6, I started my pre-op diet on Sept 22. It is HARD; I'm trying to eat/ drink every 2 hours to keep ahead of the hunger. as long as I commit to that its not AS bad. What is CRAZY is that I got weighed at my pre-op appointment and then I weighed myself this morning, and I'm down 7 pounds .. For me starting this is making me feel like this is getting more real.

My coworker told me that you can use Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Healthcare Spending Account (HSA) money for purchasing shakes and Vitamins . I plan on pulling up my benefit summary package to see how true that is for my program through my employer and if there I will need to have a rx for the shakes and vitamins to get them covered. That might be a nice pretax way to get that covered especially if your employer gives you the visa FSA card. Ahh don't envy! We all have to sit on the bench... wait wish and hope when the time comes all the work we put in will be approved by the powers that be! My surgery date is 10/06/2016, and today I had my final pre-op testing and confirmation of submission to the AETNA! I also went to my primary physician and she was awesome, she complete my surgical clearance and also completed my FMLA paperwork. Free of charge BTW!! Do they just need to track your weight? Did you see any other physicians, go to the er have dental records or anything else. I know when I checked with my insurance company they needed weights since 2014. I understand how you feel; I relocated from cross country during 2014 and so this am when I went in the records were not received. I panicked and called all of them and finally I remembered an oral surgery and an er visit I had and fortunately they had documented my weight . I also called all my providers, both New and old, by the end of today the nurse at the surgeons office called me and told me she had what they needed to submit.
