  1. Thank you Christinamo7 and OutsideMatchinside. With your help I'm a little bit less worried and closer to my decision :-)

Have a date - Ready to talk

Congrats George! I really need to hear from more people and how they feel about the surgery. The place recommended to me seems a much higher price than others, but I would feel nervous if the price is too little and what that means. Anyway, my doctor will likely have a lot to say when i finally speak with her! She may want me to wait to have it done in Canada if I'm determined, but the wait list is long here, albeit free. Look forward to hearing how things go for you!
  3. Hi Witches - I'm in Alberta. I only just learned of this procedure about a month ago. I've been thinking I'd like to do it - trust surgery/doctors in Canada more but have heard good things about WLF (Weight Loss Forever) in Tijuana. Big decision! Huge decision …so apprehensive - all emotions, you name it. I can't picture myself flying to Mexico to have a body part partially removed! It;s all so surreal. I haven't moved forward with anything yet but next step is talk to my doc. You said you don't regret it - my biggest fear is regret by far - what if I'm so upset I did this to myself and it's irreversible? I can't seem to get past this. No regret at all? aren't there some?
  4. Hi Keroki - what province are you in? Alberta? WLF was recommended by a friend of mine - her doctor recommended it to her. They have high standards and standard of excellence. Apparently higher than any hospital in Canada. I haven't shopped around at all. But I do plan on talking with my GP and seeing what she says about it. I'm curious to know if she has patients that have had the sleeve and if so, where they've had it done. So much info to sift through and decide on!
  5. Juba - you still on here? I'm in Alberta and haven't considered checking to see if I can get it done here. Haven't seen doc yet. If I can get 1/2 back on taxes maybe I'll do it in Mexico. The place I'm looking at is $13,600 for just me (no companion) but they are a highly rated hospital and has a Canadian connection (WLF). Let me know if you see this - thank!
  6. Trekker954 - thanks for your reply. Good to know I shouldn't consider myself too old for surgery! I'll look for that forum
  7. FredBear - if I'm willing to wait for many years (up to 7 years) I could get it done for free here in Canada. This is why the Canadian that started WLF (Weight Loss Forever) has this clinic in Tijuana. For Canadians willing to pay to get it done sooner. I wish I could get it done here. It would alleviate many of my fears I'm sure.
