Yes. Bled constantly post op. Went on the pill. Didn't work. Ended up going on provera tablets then getting a sterilisation 4 weeks ago and an ablation on Monday. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App

Bananas are NOT a low carb food
madadams replied to OutsideMatchInside's topic in Food and Nutrition
"While it’s true that bananas pack more carbs per bite than other fruits (because they’re lower in water), there’s no need to shun them, even if you’re trying to lose weight. Bananas are a rich source of potassium, which in addition to reducing blood pressure, supports muscle maintenance and acts as a natural diuretic that alleviates Water retention and bloating. Their Vitamin B6 also helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels and their Fiber content boosts satiety and improves digestive health. " Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App -

How many calories do you get in a day?
madadams replied to ajg91342's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was on 5-600 from months 2-5. I stalled for a week so increased to between 8-900. Started losing regularly again. I'm just over 6 months and keep under 1000 a day. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App -
6 months post op. Never had a Protein shake. Get my protein from milk, yoghurts, cheese, meats etc. Make smoothies with fruits and vegetables. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App

Mirena coils are fantastic when they work for you. The last 3 I had moved so had to have them removed. I'm 6 months post op sleeve. 4 weeks ago I was sterilised in the outpatients department under local anaesthetic which took 10 mins. Highly recommended. (I'm in the UK btw). When does hair loss begin?
madadams replied to LoveAlwaysKia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Zinc actually can prevent the hair from breaking so taking a supplement can decrease the chance of hair loss. Ask for your zinc levels to be checked if it's bad. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App -

Rapid weight loss can cause amenorrhoea. It's normal. Unless you could be pregnant don't worry. Your body will adjust itself. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App

Any coffee drinkers in the house?
madadams replied to jenrae1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
coffee doesn't act as a diuretic if drank regularly. The kidneys become used to it. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App -

BIRTH CONTROL POST!
madadams replied to The Starving Mom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know. I was shocked when they said I could have it without anaesthetic in the OPD. It was brilliant and I'd certainly recommend it. It was called essure but I'm in the UK so might be different in the US. I only have 1 child but he's 18 now and off to university so I'm certain at 45 years old I don't want any more! Lol. I'll just wait for the grandkids...... Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App -
BIRTH CONTROL POST!
madadams replied to The Starving Mom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had several mirena coils which are brilliant but stopped working for me in the end. I was on the pill initially post op but my cycle went mad! I had persistent bleeding. 3 weeks ago I was sterilised under local anaesthetic as an outpatient- literally took 10 mins with no post procedure pain. So glad I did it. Tomorrow I will have an endometrial ablation which will hopefully stop the periods altogether. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App -
I'm not a doctor bit I wouldn't have thought weight loss affects your thyroid. It won't stimulate your thyroid gland to produce more thyroxine. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App

Back and side pain post op?
madadams replied to spunkyheather's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's absolutely true. After surgery they release as much of the gas as they can but some often gets stuck under the diaphragm. It's very common following any kind of laparoscopic surgery. In the UK we have peppermint cordial which is perfect for getting rid of it but I don't think you have it in the US. Maybe peppermint tea? Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App -
Anyone in the UK?
madadams replied to IncredibleShrinkingMe's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
BTW....post op wind pain can be awful. In the Alex they give you peppermint tea but it doesn't work. From getting home I got peppermint cordial (from tesco in the alcohol aisle). A warm glass first thing in the morning got rid of any wind for the day and really helped getting fluids down. I still have a glass every morning. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App -

You're welcome. I printed it out and used it as a Bible. For some reason post op I just kept getting confused with what I could have and when. Think it was the anaesthetic! Lol. Keep us updated x Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App
