    My work here is done

Gina....MRSA rates are low these days. And you can help yourself avoid it easily - research how to before you go. On the ward you can ask to speak to a dietician for your nutritional needs. Your meals can be individualised for you. I would imagine e your circulation problems are due to lack of moving around. You need to do your leg exercises. You should still be on clexane if you're not moving around. You're high risk of DVT. Everything you have mentioned can be worked around. I'm a nurse in the NHS. Things are different. Get to A&E and don't leave until they admit you. Come on girl.....chin up and try and think positive. You WILL get through this. You need some emotional support as well as getting sorted physically. You can always go to a different A&E if you're not happy with your local one x Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App

    Post op complications

Why can't you go to A&E Gina? They should admit you if you're so poorly. If you have an abcess you should be on IV antibiotics. Which hospital did you have your surgery at? I'm in Oldham, Lancashire but I had mine done privately. Are you still in touch with your physio? They could help you re: mobilising Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App

    BM

I'm 5 months out and have really struggled with constipation. This week my dietician told me to add flaxseed to my Breakfast. I have a teaspoon every morning and have been easily every day! Something to consider at a later food stage Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App
  6. Absolutely. I have been struggling to get my calories in too. I've just been shopping and found some low fat, high Protein cheese and skyre yoghurts which are also low fat/ high protein to try and shake things up a bit. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm 19 weeks post op and I've coloured my hair twice since surgery. My hair is falling out in large amounts but the colour made no difference Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App
  8. Vicksta....I could have had it on the NHS but I didn't want to wait almost 2 years to get it done. I was lucky that I had the money in savings. It cost me £7500. I figure the money I save on food, take aways, eating out etc I will have it paid back in 2 years. Then I'll take it out again for my skin surgery!! Lol. Need advice - luncheon Sunday - What do I do?

Ok. I understand. Could you put maybe something like mashed potato along with something else on your plate and kind of push it around without anyone noticing you're not eating it? Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App

    Nutrition facts

I was told by my dietician NOT to stick to low fat. My calorie intake is low so they just want me to eat from all food groups. Not to count calories, Protein, carbs etc. Just to eat a varied diet. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App

Need advice - luncheon Sunday - What do I do?

    Alcohol 2 days preop

I went on a cruise for 2 weeks preop. I didn't have to follow a strict preop diet apart from the day before. I drank until 2 days before. I was absolutely fine. There is no evidence to suggest alcohol affects anaesthetic or recovery (apart from 24 hours preop). You'll be fine. Don't worry. I am a preop nurse and we ask patients not to drink for 24 hours preop only. Good luck. Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App

    Pre-surgery appointment

Hope you manage to get another appointment. You're paying so they should try and accommodate you if possible. I paid for mine in Manchester and the team have been really good. Keep us posted. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App
  14. Hi. I had the sleeve in February. I live near Manchester. I had loads of info from my bariatric team. I paid for my surgery so can't help with the NHS process but if you Google st George's health care gastric sleeve they have a really good detailed post op eating plan you can download. I used this along with my own info and it was invaluable. Just stick to your post op eating plan to the letter and you'll be fine. I haven't done any Protein shakes etc as my team didn't agree with them. They prefer to get your protein from Milk/meat etc and eat from all the food groups. I'm 19 weeks post op and 5 stone down ???? Sent from my SM-G935F using the BariatricPal App
