@@KristenLe Thank you I will consider the biotin, I figure it was a medication I was taking but the nurse said she know it's the Protein shakes. I try I really do to keep fluids in me, how often should I make myself drink? Because I just am drained , sleepy all the time tired not walking I just feel so mad at myself. I know I should be greatful , forgive me for complaining but can I tell the truth you know. This is how I feel. I never had surgery a day in my life never been put to sleep and I'm like what did you do? Yani

Hello everyone my gastric bypass surgery date is set for 2nd week of September. My question is, which I haven't been told yet, but I hear that I will have to go on a liquid diet two weeks before my surgery right? And that is to be of Water, broth and Protein Drinks only right? Well I also been told by my dietitian that I needed to purchase Protein drinks and Vitamin D3 Flintstones vitamin, Iron and B12 vitamin. Now I done went in July and purchased like 12-13 cases of the Premier Protein shakes and my Vitamins and also like 3 or 4 chicken broths. My question is will I really be drinking all these Protein Shakes and broths and taking all these vitamins after my surgery even 4 or 5 months after. If I have I have no problem doing so but I know I can go a little over board and these products not cheap for me to buy all this and later find out I'm not even going to use them all. I mean 4 come in each case and I am heading to get more . ???? YaniMovingForward

They had me do a liver shrink diet pre-surgery which is a lot of protein, but didn't have to be liquid. No carbs. The vitamins you will take for the rest of your life. Post surgery those protein shakes are going to be your best way to get protein since you will be on a liquid diet after surgery for at least a week and pureed for another month. Go to a wholesale club or Amazon and get them by the case... It's way cheaper then the 4 packs.Good luck Yani! Sent from my VS985 4G using the BariatricPal App Thank you so much Tammy for that information I sure will go get them by the case. I appreciate that information Sent from my N9520 using the BariatricPal App Thank you and I wish you all the best of luck as well and congratulations Sent from my N9520 using the BariatricPal App

Things that I'll be taking to hospital
Tyani replied to D'Sleeved's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ha ha yes hospital pads do feel like diapers. Thanks for that heads up as well. I hope I don't sound to graphic but I am irregular and I haven't had a menstrual since June so I know if I don't show up with any pads that will be a disaster lol Sent from my N9520 using the BariatricPal App I wasn't due for another week, and she showed up shortly after I got up to my room after surgery. I've been irregular all my life, but I could always count on my period starting if I had something important going on (first day of school, etc). I loved the pill because I was in control for once! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Yep that sounds like me she only shows up when you have important thing's going on. Lol. I have my surgery set for September 14. Can you tell me what to expect when I arrive at the hospital the day of surgery, like what is done before surgery and said I guess I'm just nervous you know? I am scheduled to have gastric bypass in September. What I wanted to know is once I get home will I need someone with me for a week or two? My husband making plans to take time off from work, he also having my nephews come up to stay and baby sit me lol I'm like I know this is a serious surgery but I don't think I will need all these people. Just wondering how was it for you all and if in fact you yourself did need someone with you at home for a period of time. My family is so afraid something bad will happen to me. They hearing all these stories about others who surgery was not a success Tyani P.

Yes I'm trying to prepare myself mentally for this liquid diet lol. Thanks everyone and I have a great team so this should be great. I will keep you all posted Awesome I'm happy for you wish me much success ???? Always best to plan a head

I thank you all ladies and yes I will consider all that you all told me. So I will allow all the support that comes and the support my husband has coming up to be with me. I am a bit afraid I must say. Beings I never had any type of surgery never been put to sleep heck never broken a bone so this is major to me. Any comfort you all can suggest to ease my mind. My surgery is September and I just am so afraid that I will have this notion of saying I regret doing this.

Yes September buddies we are. And I know I felt the same way. I'm just so ready to get this done, but I keep sayingto myself everything takes time for a reason. So September is surgery month for the both of us and that means winter will be fast approaching so our health and bodies will be ready for summer 2017. So it's all good. Let me know how all goes for you. I know you will be just fine

Great is this the Bayview in Baltimore? If so that's where I go as well. Congratulations to you Sent from my N9520 using the BariatricPal App -
Please don't get discouraged. Everything happens for a reason. Just do what you have to do to keep the weight off and even getting rid of a few more pounds. I understand how you feel. I do????. My 6 months of weight monitoring was done in June. I'm excited thinking my surgery date will be what July /beginning of August, nope September the second week of September. I got up set and I said to myself nope don't rush God everything in his timing. What we want now is not what he wants now for us. Just know your surgery date is set. And just eat right and work out September is around the corner. Hope I helped you to smile
