About Me

  • Gender
    Female
  1. I'm at 3 weeks post op and I can only stomach 1/2 cup of food right now. It takes me forever to eat! Because of my limits, eating is such a chore now. I only do it because I have too. To my vets, what are the signs that you have eaten too much? I know they vary, but I wouldn't mind knowing the warning signs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Breast size

When I had my lap band, I got as low as a 38c (which I loved!!). Once I gained backed some weight, I grew some cups and some bands. One of the reasons I had the sleeve surgery is because of the band cutting into my sides. My breast never were just huge. I always had to get a large ass band. I hoping this time around, they go back down. I hate wearing bras and most of the cute tops/dresses don't look good with one (just my opinion, I hate when bra straps show lol). First Time Out Drinking

I've been to two functions with alcohol and even though I was dying to pour up, I restrained myself. My plan says no alcohol for 6 months and I plan to stick to it. When I had my lap band, I did not follow my plan and ended up with horrible eating habits and slipped band. This time around, I want to do things right. I get it, we're young. My friends like to get tore up drunk lol I wish I could have me a Maker's Manhattan, but this Protein shake will do. Besides, I like greens more anyway Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any sleeved musicians?

I play the flute, not professionally, but I still dabble here and there every now and then. When I had my lap band back in 2011, I was in my college marching band (piccolo) and I remember having a performance maybe 2-3 weeks after my surgery. I can't remember any pain and I was pretty steady with my breathing from my diaphragm. I just recently had the sleeve and I haven't tried playing my horn yet and I'm 23 days out. How many meals..?

3 meals a day high in Protein. I guess my problem is breakfast, I tried scrambled eggs a while back and it didn't sit well with me. Hard boiled eggs didn't bother me as much Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. How many meals are suppose to have in a day? I've been trying to get to 90g of Protein but I usually get about half or a little more. I usually do premiere protein or triple zero yogurt for Breakfast, the tuna creations packet for lunch, and one of my ricotta bake recipes for dinner. Is it too much/not enough? I've been working out almost daily and wondering if this is effecting me as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I think mine was maybe 3-4 days post up. I was literally in the bathroom for over 30 mins. I wish I would have know about the stool softener then. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Puréed diet hacks

I just made this recently, slightly based on the ricotta bake, but with a Mexican twist. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I just made this today for my puréed food stage. Look up ricotta bake for bariatrics on google for the recipe. You can also look up recipes on Pintrest, just type puréed food recipes. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I've been eating my puréed tuna for about an hour now and I'm still not finished. I've been texting and on my computer so that slowed me down. I've been making sure to put my fork down for at least a minute before picking it up again. My doctor told me that if you are eating your meal in under 20 mins, you are eating too fast. Being an overeater myself, I had to really watch this part when starting my soft foods. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Post-Sleeve Working Out

I'm 17 days Post OP and I've starting working out. I'm starting slow, did about 20 mins on elliptical did some lower body strength, and I hit the pool. Working out in the pool is my favorite cause it's easy on my joints and I get a better resistance. After telling my doctor Thursday that I started working out, he encouraged it so that makes me happy. I'm going to a fitness coach tomorrow to start a workout plan for August. Need help with puréed stage

I've been liking the tuna or salmon pouches (about 2.5 oz) mixed with hummus, a little mustard, and a splash of jalapeño juice. It makes it moist and really soft. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Am I the only one

I'm right here with you. Had my surgery 6/21. Lost 14, then gains 2 because I moved to soft foods too early. I'm now back on liquids and Soups to ensure I do this right. I'm starting to work out and I'm consulting with a fitness coach as well. I like to weight my self a lot too, but I'm going to stop cause I know it's not gonna move fast at first. Don't worry, we got this Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Getting frustrated

Surgery was 6/21 and I'm like you, I'm already over my soups and broths. I like to cook real food so I jumped to soft foods early but now I regret it because I gained 2 pounds. My doctor said it was a bit early to move to soft foods so I decided to give the liquids/soups another try for 2 more weeks. My favs so far have been the sugar free Popsicles and Hot and Sour Soup from my favorite Chinese restaurant. I might try the potato flakes with chicken broth as well. Being a foodie, this is going to be a tough journey but with this support, I know I can make it through it. You will too Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
