does it feel like your stomach is growling
rodero replied to ChrisInc2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I wasn't drinking enough I always felt like my stomach was growling. I had to go to the ED for fluids (POstop day 5). Today after drinking more that feeling isn't as constant. Also, I get this tightness in my chest and back that felt very scary (kind of like my panic attacks years ago). Apparently, it's gas and goes away with walking. Yesterday, combined with the dehydration and heartburn - I thought I was dying, but thankfully I've gotten better with aggressive hydration. That heartburn is still bothersome, though! I've also read people take gas ex and their daily prevacid or proton pump inhibitor. -

Feeling nauseous while drinking water [emoji848]
rodero replied to SiSSi829's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ugh plain water is the worse! Unfortunately, I ended up dehydrated in the ED today and after two liters I'm definitely going to figure out a better way to keep hydrated. Maybe the vitamin water. Sigh....what a day! -

I'm four days out and would do just about anything for cottage cheese or yogurt! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I'm only four days out but I've downloaded the Baritastic app. It has a timer for vitamins and water reminder. I have to use it but it looks like it would be compatible for someone like me who always has her phone nearby.

Scheduled for July 29th Dallas Texas

Also, I'm a big time planner and found Harvard had excellent postop recs for further guidance. It's always good to run them by your facility first but my surgeon thought they were appropriate so I'm using some of their tips after my doc okayed. http://www.brighamandwomens.org/Departments_and_Services/surgery/metabolic-and-bariatric-surgery/patients-and-caregivers/nutrition-resources.aspx Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I thought I would bounce right back after surgery but I am 3 days out and still SO tired, but it gets significantly better each day. Getting off the pain med and scopalamine helped the fatigue. I think I'm hungry but after reading posts it may just be acid buildup (taking my omeprazole daily). I think about food a lot, but can barely take two sips of a Protein shake without getting a weird gassy left shoulder discomfort that fades after a few minutes. However, each day is significantly better thank the previous. And I don't regret my decision at all! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
2tired2befat I,too, ate anything I wanted for the past week. Traveled to TX and did not do a single calorie count. The liquid diet has been a shocker. I guess I'm not stomach hungry like everyone mentions but head hungry mainly...it's hard to stop thinking about food. I dreamt of a croissant last night. Weird...not even that big of fan!
