  1. I don't think you need to tell them that you have had surgery. If you are worried about what reaction you might receive, you may just tell them that you have lost a large amount of weight a heads up on what to expect. Some may have a problem, others will not.

    Fried chicken

Soak the chicken for an hour in salty water and it will draw in moisture that will stay after cooking.

    What is this feeling?

I don't know if it is the same feeling, but sometimes throughout the day I will get a feeling like my stomach flips. No idea. Maybe spasms?

    One month anniversary!

Don't worry about averages. Everyone is different. For me, and a lot of people on here, it has been lose and hold, lose and hold.

Staying positive. I am NOT happy

Prayer is not all that you can do. Talk to someone. I know it's not an answer for you but it might be the best you've got post surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  7. I wouldn't make an assumption that a doctor is less experienced bc of a pre-op diet. For many it would be the policy of the practice or hospital. And wanting every advantage possible is not a negative. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. You ask anything you want, whenever and however many times that you want. It's a message board, not a database.

    Cooking for the fam, post-op

I love to cook too. Even two months out. I made my wife the best French toast ever last night and stole only one bite. Turkey spaghetti for her last weekend. I have made veggie chili 4 times since surgery, and I came have that. If you want to, even during weight loss you can keep cooking.
  13. Right when I got home. Weigh yourself immediately so you know what you have gained and have to lose again. I would have hated to not know I lost those pounds.

    Help me I'm scared

I had the same feelings. I just kept going over all of the reasons that I had gone through the process in my mind. I kept looking at the lists of NSVs and before/after pics on here. Two months later, I am happy and never looking back. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    What to eat

Just because you are "eat what you want" doesn't mean you can't keep the bulk of your diet on the recent meal plan type diet through weight loss.

  23. I was taking two lisinoprils each day prior to surgery. My surgeon said not to take them when I got home. If my BP was up after a few weeks, to get in touch with my primary care doc. My BP never went back up, and I haven't had a pill since August 3. I don't know your history or the meds you take, so check with your surgeon and/or PCP.

    Vitamins

I was taking them the day after I was released. Crushed up citracal in apple sauce is not awesome.

We get to drink up to a meal. My nutritionists said there is no evidence that stopping 30 min prior to eating affected weight loss. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
