hey NBflo Girl I tried the low sodium french onion soup mixed with Water and it hurt my stomach then I tried the Protein mix with 1% milk and that hurt my stomach too :wink2: maybe i'll try the tomatoe soup tonight mixed with water and see if my stomach will take that.... so far the only thing i can is the boost Protein Shake and jello gelitin (getting boring)

I had the shoulder pain for a couple days...it's more of a nagging pain than real intense... the most intense pain is in my side and going accross my lower back. but the more i "expel" the gas the less intense it is... you might not have the pain as worse as me ...either way i know you can handle it :-)

Hey gang, I got my band!!! Yeah Me and I'm still sore as hell! lol I still have a lot of gas pain and have been walking around the house to try and move it out. I was worried about first week of liquids and being hungry... NOT ...I am so full after a couple of sips of protein or jello ...its amazing that I don't feel hunger! I know i'm not getting enough protein in so i'm gonna have that up today.. can anyone tell me if SF jello pudding is ok on the full liquid diet? Everyone was very nice and the only problem I had was with one nurse who did not give me any pain meds from 1pm the day of the surgery to that evening when the night nurse came on and asked if I wanted anything and said that I must be in a lot of pain.. I told I was and who the other nurse was and she shook her head and quickly got me something to relieve the pain. Then the next morning that same nurse (sharon) came in to give me something and I told her that I did not feel comfortable with her and wanted someone else since she did'nt take care of me properly ...then Kim NP came in and I told her what happened in front of that nurse and she told me that I could switch nurses if I wanted...so she took care of it for me. After that everything went smoothly... I'm glad it's finally over with!

Your surgeon is full of it! Why would he do a procedure he does'nt believe in?? He probably does'nt want to put the band back in because he knows he messed it up in the first place! I hope you go and have yourself checked out by another "obesity" surgeon (who is competent, capable and believes in his work) to make sure he did'nt do any perminent damage to you. Your insurance should pay for the replacement and removal of the band as it is not your fault (could be a faulty band or faulty placement)...call your insurance company and explain the situation and i'm sure they'll give you the right answer. good luck!

Yeah I know what you mean... I can only lose so much before hitting a road block and yo-yoing again...so I know this is the best option for me too. You'll do well Shar and by spring you'll be modeling off your new bod!

yeah I was pretty much serious about the "food coma"... but i've lost enough for the surgery (16 lbs) from my first weigh-in at bgh. Dr. Hoffman seemed to be pleased with it..he says as long as I don't gain it back...(which I do'nt plan on doing) I should be fine for surgery. I would be lying to myself if I said I was'nt going to splurge a *little* during Thanksgiving, i'll be back on plan after that. Lisa did give me a *tentative* surgery date of Dec 8th (my brother's b-day)..Dr H has to sign a few forms before she can send off to the insurance...hopefully I won't have a problem with bc/bs but we'll see

Hi All, Well I finally had my consult with Dr Hoff and unfortunantly was not given a surgery date because I had a few more tests to do and I also have to get a C-pap machine and actually *use* it before he considers giving me a date :grouphug:. I wish I could have gotten it done in Nov but he said it was too close to Turkey Day so now i'm gonna have to wait until *probably* December...in the meantime i'll have to figure out how to NOT go into a food comma eating all that good food :pray2:... I get my c-pap on Thurs. so we'll see what happens...

Hi China, I eat a lot of grilled or roast chicken with a low glycemic vegitables...like spinach, greens, string Beans and plenty of salads. You can load your salads up with artichoke hearts, cucumbers, small amount of tomatoes, onions and feta cheese. Lean steaks are good too...throw em on the grill as the weather is still nice. I don't know if you can make 39lbs in such a short amount of time but if you stick with phase one ..you should get real close to your goal! The dietician at BGH gave me 2 lists for Phase 1 of South Beach and Phase 2... I can fax you the list if you don't have it. Just let me know.

I hope you did'nt continue to do business with this racist... And even tell him that this is not the image you want for your business or association. I don't know how " prominent" he is in that community but I would have caught a case that night for WHUPPIN HIS A$$ :smile2:

I finally got a chance to see Dr Lelito..... He was pretty cool, nice guy. He said he thought I was making the right choice for "myself" with the band :thumbup: (I don't have a problem with slow weightloss and actually prefer it). I think he's having broblems with BC/BS paying for the psych evals ...he got about 20 of em being held up in BC/BS limbo:huh2: I went online today to check to see if BC/BS paid for my eval... it does'nt show a claim filed and I know the girl in his office called for a pre-auth when I was in there a couple weeks ago. I'm going to give BC/BS a call next week to make sure they pay for his services!

That's about little over a pound a day...pretty awesome! Hope I get the same results!
