  4. Sounds like you're doing real good Jenn, and 1200 cal is pretty good to stay around. I try to stay around 1300 to 1500 cal a day. I did'nt go Keith Urban.. I had to google him to see who he was
  5. I use the semi-sweet or bittersweet chips. I don't know how SF chips would react to high heat. This is my modified version of Alton Brown's "The Thin" chocolate chip cookie recipie: Ingredients 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (substitute equal portions: 1 cup white whole wheat flour (king arthor brand),1/4 cup almond flour (can get at feel rite or blend toasted almonds to a granular consistency) you could also swap out a couple tablespoon of flaxseed meal for a couple Tbsn of all purpose flour to add a little more omega 3 fatty-acid..it'll give it more of a nutty taste (its good) 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 egg 2 ounces milk 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 sticks unsalted butter (use smart balance butter it cooks/bakes best at high heats 1 cup sugar (sub with splenda) 1/2 cup brown sugar (sub with brown sugar splenda) 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips Hardware: Ice cream scooper (#20 disher, to be exact) Parchment paper Baking sheets Mixer Directions Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda in a mixing bowl. Combine the egg, milk, and vanilla and bring to room temperature in another bowl. Cream the butter in the mixer's work bowl, starting on low speed to soften the butter. Add the sugars. Increase the speed, and cream the mixture until light and fluffy. Reduce the speed and add the egg mixture slowly. Increase the speed and mix until well combined. Slowly add the flour mixture, scraping the sides of the bowl until thoroughly combined. Stir in the chocolate chips. Scoop onto parchment-lined baking sheets, 6 cookies per sheet. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, checking the cookies after 5 minutes. Rotate the baking sheet for more even browning. Remove the cookies from the pans immediately. Once cooled, store in an airtight container.
  6. What you have to do is find something you love to do that excerts a lot of energy (calories). I like to dance for my excersize since conventional excersizes is boring to me. For instance, I like doing Belly-dancing and now i'm learning Salsa and if I can find a Zumba class, I'm gonna do that!

  10. Well, we all have lost large amounts of weight, its just keeping it off long term is what's difficult. Lets see how long she can keep it off without gaining that plus 20lbs more. Some of those women up there are straight-up B. I. T. C. H. E. S.! I wonder why they even choose to work with Bariatric patients if they have issues with surgical interventions..or whatever their issues maybe then they should choose another specialty. Vicki, just keep working at it and i'm sure you will come up with the right eating style that will work for you. Maybe you're just at a point where your body is readjusting to what you've already lost. Don't try to diet, just eat healthier selections. What do you have the most issues with? For me its cakes and cookies. I have'nt figured a way to lower the calories in a cake and have it still taste good but I have for chocolate chip cookies  I use white whole wheat flour for half the flour contents and replace 1/4 cup with almond flour to make it more light and fluffy and white & brown sugar blenda. The butter would be Smart Balance Light. ..much healthier dessert cookie.

  16. Hi Vicki, I know what you mean, I thought after having the surgery, I could eat anything I wanted to only less of it but apparantly that is'nt the case. Even my cholesterol went up some :tongue2: so now i'm *trying* to eat low fat choices and more cooked fiberous veggies and fruit (well gotta work on the fruit part). The only positive thing the band does for me is to help me not feel hungry all day..and when my restriction is good, I do'nt want to eat. Right now, i'm hungry! and i've just eaten like an hour and half ago! Had a packet of oatmeal and 6 onces of chopped steak with 2 cherry tomatoes. So I know I need a fill and soon!
