I currently take: Bariatric fusion - 4 x a day Bariatric Advantage Iron Supplement (Chewy Bite 30mg Iron/60mg Vitamin C ) - 1 x a day Bariatric Advantage Calcium Chewy Bites 500mg - 1 x a day Thank you for any info!

    Pregnancy after 40 and sleeved

Looking for updates from those of you who got pregnant over 40, and how your pregnancy went. I turn 40 next month, I am 5 months post surgery. I had a child 10 years ago with fertility treatment and now wanting to have another one and know it will mean fertility treatment again (fertility issues at that time were with my husband.) I was thinking to start treatment at 12 months Post Surgery in case they do not work first try. My doctor told me 18 months before getting pregnant, but I am stressed with my age to wait that long to start trying. Thank you.
  3. https://www.specialk.com/en_US/products/portabella-kale-quinoa-quiche.html I tried this, this week, and I was ok with it. (only ate about a 1/4 at a time)
  4. Looking for others experience. Almost 3 weeks post op. Yesterday and today have started to have mild cramping feeling in both my legs. Like I just did a workout on a spin bike or something (but haven't) Also waking up middle of night and the morning with very dry mouth. I am on a diet of pureed food. Including shakes, Protein injury Soups, I am managing around 48 ounces of fluids. I rarely seem to be able to meet the 64 ounces, but keep trying. I feel more fatigued then I did a week ago too. And as far as weight loss, it has not moved more than a pound for two weeks now. Anyone experience the same, or know what these two symptoms might be?
  5. Wanted to follow up and say thank you to everyone who responded with advice, experience, info! I did go to the doctor next morning, got labs done. Was dehydrated but not yet to a dangerous point. Iron was low. Potassium ok. But I did make some changes starting the night I posted. Got myself G2 gatorade, that I am now drinking - watered down- to replace just Water. And am taking more time to focus on drinking my fluids, staying up later if need to, to get in that 64 oz. Also added bananas into my diet. Doctor said to continue that. And we are working on adding a chewable iron supplement to add to the bariatric Vitamins I am taking 3 times a day. As of today leg cramps are gone, and my energy has returned to what it was a week ago. I will not let my hydration slip. Realize how important that is for recovery. I am so thankful for this board. Thank you for encouragement to go to the doctor too. When in doubt...

    Can't get protein in

I am 3 weeks too. Sources of Protein and basically my diet right now ( they are all liquid/pureed protein for the most part right now, still the easiest to get in the most protein if liquid form): shakes. I do unjury brand chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla (blend with ice, milk, some banana) and the Premier Protein. Unjury Unflavored protein (mix this into avocado, sugar free pudding etc.) Unjury chicken Soup (If I get tired of the taste, I mix in a little tomato or potato cream Soups, just a bit changes the flavor) Greek Yogurts (Dannon light & fit) Cottage Cheese Avocados Scrambled Eggs I know one thing my nutrionist stressed about the high protein diet, is that it helps protect your muscle too, so you don't lose muscle, which isn't good. High protein diet protects the muscle and burns off fat cells. At least that is how I understood it.
  7. I love the brand INC by Macys, and look forward to wearing their regular misses sizes: http://www1.macys.com/shop/womens-clothing/inc-international-concepts-womens-apparel?id=3481 In store and online they consistently have sales, and the pieces are good quality and last. Pieces mix and match well, and they are classy but comfortable designs. The pants often have the nice tummy tightener waist, (which I know I will appreciate with loose skin around my abdomen as I lose more)
  8. Yes, I hear you about the fluids! It consumes my day, I have a Water bottle constantly in my hand to sip. But I still can't manage more. Hope you are feeling better soon!
  9. Thank you for the advice and sharing your experience. Did you need IV treatments?
  10. Had sleeve yesterday. Lots of problem with nausea and dry heaving after till about 10. Home now and still so nauseous. Took zofran but not helping. Looking for tips.

    Dreading the Nausea!

I felt part of what made mine worse was I tried walking too far a few hours after surgery in the hall. If I were to say something to myself it would be to do just shorter walks in the room first day. Leave hallway till next morning. Nausea hit on my way back down hall full force. I am day four and feel so much better. Day 3 was much better too. So really two days. But my nurses Doctor were amazing. They had me on zofran even before nausea began as precaution for all gastric patients and gave me stronger medicine when that was not enough. I think it comes down to how your body reacts to anesthesia. Just don't know. Saying a prayer you will be fine. But know it passes quickly if you do experience it.

    Nausea

Thank you for your response! Read it at the time and was encouraging, I would see a light at end of tunnel. Day 4 and feeling so much better. Still some slight nausea for me but a zofran is now enough to combat it if needed.
  13. Surgery is this week. One of my largest concerns is if I will have reflux after the surgery and life long. I do have some now. Take tums when i get it. But it isn't severe. But still scares me I do get it and if indicator I will continue to have with the sleeve even after losing weight. Looking for any others experience. And if you did end up getting it, what do you do to control it. Thanks!
