I get the hiccups CONSTANTLY. It doesn't matter if I'm eating or drinking. My Dr. told me they probably irritated a nerve when they placed my port and I'm probably stuck with them for the rest of my life. They come is short bursts, 3 or 4 at a time, but I get them several times a day. They don't hurt at all...just get kind of annoying.

I was banded on 4/29 and had my first fill on 5/27. I had lost 25 pounds, but since my fill..not a single pund. It fluctuates on ounces, but that that scale has not budged. I started working out at Curves. I go after work 4 times a week. I'm sticking to my diet, eaqting as I should be , and still nothing. I feel your frustrations. I go back to the Dr. on Thursday, so hopefully I'll be getting fill #2 and we'll see what that does.

I'm not much of a Crystal Light fan, but I absolutely couldn't live without the little Lipton tea pouches. The lemon flavored ones taste just like lemon sweet tea and they have 0 calories and are SF. They also have a Cirtus and Pink lemonade flavor that are awesome.

I was a Cokeaholic also..what makes it even worse is that I work for Coke..I've been off sodas for over 6 months now. It;s very hard tho when you're surrounded by it all day..if we didn't have free Dasani to drink I think I might go crazy. The one thing I have noticed though is that after not having it for so long when I take a sip or two of my DH's drink, it just doesn't taste the same. Go figure.

Did your Boss or Coworkers treat you better after weightloss?
Snick replied to CapitolChick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not everybody at work knows about me getting the band, but those who do are extremely supportive. They are all keeping track of my progress right along with me and can't wait to hear how things went when I get back from my dr's visits. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.. -
I was banded on the 29th. Everything seems to be going well. My major issue at the moment is horrible reflux. I called my dr's office and they said a possible reason could be I wasn't getting enough in my stomach. I've upped my liquids intake and am taking antacids but to no avail. Is this normal? It's happening during the day, at night, sitting up, lying down, whenever it wants to strike. Anybody have any advice?

Help!!! How to obtain 5 year history of obesity
Snick replied to Coley21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance (BCBS of GA) required 5 consecutive year history of obesity. I also had not been to the dr. in quite a while due to various reasons. I gethered the only medical files I had during those times (which happened to be from my OBGYN during my pregnancies) and ended up having to write a letter to the insurance company stating I sent all the available records I had and to not penalize me on the one issue. If you can't get all your paperwork, maybe you could try something along the same lines. Hope this helps! -
Hi everybody! I've been lurking around here for a few months now and this is my 1st post. I live in Atlanta and am getting banded April 29th. The entire process from my intial visit to surgery only took about a month and a half. After all my variour doctor visits, it turns out the only health issue I have is the extra weight I'm carrying around. I've been heavy all my life decided it's time for a change! All your success stories here have helped motivate me to go for it. I can't wait! Current weight = 281 Goal weight = 175

I am having my surgery done thru the doctors @ True Results in Atlanta. They are affiliated with AIGB. The doctors and staff are all extremely knowledgeable and answered every question I could come up with. I went in for my initital visit on Feb. 28th and am having surgery next tuesday. I've had an excellent experience so far.
