August 17th for me, and I was still sore around the 4 week mark. On Thursday of this past week, it just seemed like the pain went away. I didn't have to use my abdominal binder since Thursday! But call your surgeon when in doubt!

WOW, I wasn't allowed soft foods until week 5 (last Wednesday). I started with plain rotisserie chicken and ground turkey. I was told NO tortillas, bread, anything hard/crispy until the end of week 8, so week 9. As others have said though, each doctor is different!

Eating at 5 weeks post op
Anabean replied to Anabean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with you! I used to drink about 120 oz. a day and now it's a good day when I reach the 64! Crazy thing is I do it well on the weekends, but during the work week, I struggle to get it in. I'm constantly on the go and can't carry my water bottle with me all the time, so on breaks I try to drink, drink, drink! I've actually started some "water breaks" in my classroom, to get more water in. The kids need and I need it so it works out ! -

Hi, All So I'm 5 weeks post op and am struggling to get 1/4 C. of food in at meal time. I'm supposed to be at about 1/2 C. but feel full just shy of 1/4 c. Now I find that I am hungry a little over every 2 hours. This then leads to having difficulty getting all my Protein,60g , in everyday. I'm considering having 2 Protein shakes a day in addition to food. Thoughts or any experience with this Sent from my SGH-M919 using the BariatricPal App

HI all, I'm 48 hours out of VSG surgery and all I want to do is sleep. My stomach is swollen and feels very sore. standing up from sitting position or laying is hard. Walking makes it feel better. Is this pretty typical for most people?

Wishing you a speedy recovery! See on the loser's bench tomorrow!

Any others *exhausted* on the pre-op diet?
Anabean replied to sleeveNC's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on the 17th also! I have days when I am pretty good, but I have been taking it easy after work. I normally go to the gym 4 times a week, but I haven't been able to to make...just no energy. I'm on 5-6 Protein shakes and broth, SF Jello, SF popsicles. I haven't had more than 4 or 5 shakes a day. On Tuesday I am on a clean liquid diet so I picked up some cocotein coconut Water with 20g of protein that i plan to use for the day before and after surgery. I am ready for this! 2 1/2 weeks of this and I am done!!! -

I'm with you Ramona5555! I am actually very sick of Jello! I was never a fan of Jello any how. I've been on the pre op diet for a little over a week and I can't stand the flavors or texture anymore. I threw half a container out today :/.

Swanson Flavor Infused Broths
Anabean replied to Anabean's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks all, I am currently cutting the all broth with water because of the sodium content! It's amazing how much salt is in there! I feel I kneed to drink more water to compensate . -
I'm on my pre-op diet and just found this online. Has anyone tried the Swanson Flavor Infused Broths? On their website it says they are around 15 calories. They have Thai Ginger, Mexican Tortilla, & Louisana Cajun. Can't wait to try!
