Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
Kim_8 replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Ok, Sus - here's mine. I hate these! First 2 are before... 2nd two are now. 45 lbs to go.... Yee haw! -
I don't come around here often enough anymore... I miss you guys and I'll have to check in more often. This board and many, many of you have been a lifesaver for me. I love reading --- even if I'm not posting so much right now!

Kaybug - Good luck with that first fill! It's pretty darn painless.... Hope it all goes well.
-
Wow - a 7 day cruise! How fun will that be? Only thing is - I can't even imagine going on a cruise and focusing on the pool / swimming suit instead of the 24/7 buffet! :-)
-
I'll be there! I think that Laura is going to come, too (Feel2Young2B40). I'll check with her at workout and get her to respond. Thanks for the heads up Janet! What a good little organizer you are! What would we do without you? :-)

10 lbs in the last month is good weight loss! However, you know best what you're feeling and if you're eating more than about a cup or so, then maybe you could do a little fill? I tell you though - if it's working... and 10 lbs is working, maybe you could leave it? Nothing worse than too tight of a fill! Good luck!
-
Mandy - You've turned into a little bit of a thing! Congratulations! You look awesome!

I was filled about a month ago to the 2cc mark. Just in the past 2 days I'm to the point where I can eat somewhat normally. I would say a tiny unfill sounds in order for you. I kept thinking that if I could just wait it out, I'd lose enough around my stomach to make the band looser without getting an unfill. I don't think I was as bad as you sound though. I have been so frustrated over the past month that several times I've thought about going for a little unfill. That said, I did start eating little, teeny, weeny bites - I'm talking smaller than a baby spoon. I chew them up really well and seem to be able to eat whatever I want -- just not tons of it -- which is good. The minute I take a normal size bite, I'm in trouble. If milk is coming back up though, I'd say unfill a little....... Good luck!

Mandi - Don't be too rough on yourself! Be careful this soon after surgery though. I found myself doing the same thing after my surgery when the swelling had gone down enough to get food down. It took all my nerve (and I had to act fast) - but I squirted catsup all over the chocolate I was eating and then threw it away. Try getting some low cal fudge bars or little pudding cups to satisfy the urges. You hang in there! By the way - tell me the mini muffins really sucked... please? :-)

Hey fellow Benavides bandster! I can only hope that at my 1 year mark I'll be doing as good as you! Congrats---- you made it!

Quote by *Sarah* *Sarah* - I'm thinking it's about 155 for a size 10.... not a perfect science because everyone's body is different.... So, that's about what? close to 65 lbs. I would say that this is entirely possible in a year! Good luck on your surgery! DonnaB - just saw your post about Chicos - I know that sucks when they do that to you! I had the same experience in Saks 5th avenue. NOONE would help me and they were falling over themselves to help other people. Sucks big time. I'll be like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman ---- one of these days I'll go back and give them the you work on commission line - big mistake ---- huge. Hey - just so you know - Chico's sizes are different than other peoples sizes - a Chico's size 3 is equivalent to around a 14-16 I think. I thought the same thing when I went in there the first time!
-
Anything in regular sizes would be groovy. Just shopping in regular stores is my goal... once I get there, I'll reset expectations. I can just imagine how much fun that will be! My credit card will be smokin.
-
Ah Leener - I've been away from the board for a while and just read what you've been going through! I'm so sorry you had such a rough time. The first few weeks waiting for the swelling to go down was rough for me. I even ended up in tears one day on my way home from work. Then magically, one day it all stopped and I felt better. I'm so glad you're doing better. One hell of a way to lose 17 lbs - but geez that's almost a whole size in clothes! Congrats and I'm glad you're feeling better!
-
Happy Birthday Dawg - sorry I missed that! What'd the little woman get for you?

Hey Janet - Yep - been busy lately and haven't been on as much as I'd like! (also been missing workouts - don't shoot me Laura - I'll be there tonight!) Bubbles are gone! Yea! But I do have a REALLY tight fill. Been struggling a bit with that and hoping to take off a few more lbs so that it might loosen up a little. So it looks like the date is the 22nd - sounds good to me. I have no idea where I'm going, but I'm sure I'll find it! -
Gurly - you broke the 100 mark! WOW! Congratulations! That's incredible!

2cc's did it for me, too. I have a lot of restriction and find eating difficult and frustrating. I have considered going back for a slight unfill, but have been busy and it's a long drive to go get an unfill. I figure if I can wait it out another week or so, then hopefully I will have lost enough weight for it to loosen up a bit. I can already tell that this is the case. Last night I was able to eat 3 chicken wings and the insides of two spring rolls - I thought it was just about the best thing I had ever eaten. 1 bite of quiche last week at La Madeleine sent me into a sliming fit in the middle of Highland Park (which around here is a pretty ritzy place and you don't want to be caught dead sliming in the parking lot!) I was mortified and frustrated. I have been drinking my Protein shake and eating Soups so that I keep healthy, but boy sometimes I think a happy medium (like P'nut) would be better.

Penni - lotsa people around here are sick, too! Sorry you're having a hard time with it! A guy I work with had a cold and cough and was just checked into the hospital for pneumonia. Take Care of yourself and for pete's sake, stay out of that rain! I have an "SV" this morning.... I am officially at my lowest weight since I had my second kid (13 years ago in 3 days). This is pretty exciting stuff! A while back I did Atkins and lost down to 184.5 where I stayed for approximately 1 day before I started gaining again. It was a really good one day though! Today my weight for weigh in is 184. Yee haw! Ok, AND a side "NSV" - I went to Dillard's last night and bought a size 14 cute little white jacket - may wonders never cease!!!!! 14??????? Me thinks my big butt is still a little bigger than a 14, but hey - a jacket is a good start! C184 (-1.5 lbs)

I had a fill yesterday. All day today I've had a strange feeling in the back of my throat... like spit pooling there (gross, I know). I keep swallowing and clearing my throat, but a few seconds later it's back. I decided to go check it out and looked in the bathroom mirror with my mouth wide open. When I open my mouth and look at the back of my throat I see a big spit bubble form and then it goes away. I close my mouth, open it again and it's back! I feel talented. Is my fill to tight? I'm thinking I'll tough it out for a few days and see what happens when I'm off the liquids. I CAN get liquids down. I AM NOT hungry - not even a little. This is just on the verge of annoying. Anybody else had this happen???
-
Hi P'nut - yes - I'm back! Yea - it's over! Thanks for the welcome back. No bubbles anymore, but one heck of a fill. Starting to be able to eat a little, but geez - when they say you'll feel full after 1/2 - 1 c of food I really didn't believe it till now. It's not like just "full" - it's like no way can I eat any more than that. Kind of cool. Laura - 20 lbs of muscle? You're kicking my butt on these workouts! I follow you around on the machines and can't begin to lift the leg and arm machines at the weight you were lifting at. No wonder you're doing so good on the body fat/muscle thing! I'm so ashamed! LOL Here's to that 50 mark next week!

ok, no time for wierd sex thoughts now... but... try fillng up the tub with water and pour a bunch of bleach in there and run the jets for a while with the bleach water. should fix it. I moved into a house where the prior owners must not have ever used the tub and had the same thing when I turned it on for the first time. pretty oogey.
