Congratulations! You are doing so well.

Sensitivity training is indeed called for. That, or disciplinary action. This is just so wrong. While they may have opinions, they are in the health care field which is supposed to be helpful not judgemental. Regardless of whether they think patients or their families can hear or not, on the job they should keep their stupid opinions to themselves.

Wht a great friday morning giggle...hee hee.

I have had a successful week, and don't won't to blow it! -
Way to go Ezma! The weekend is always the challenging time for me so I won't look for a 'chip' too soon! But I just HAVE to break this stupid annoying pesky demoralizing traumatizing rotten stinking hateful terrible hurtful stupid intractable plateau!
-
I know what you mean. When I first joined, my cousin and I were (probably) the oldest people on it! I thought, nope, this isn't for me. But over time a few more people of my vintage joined...I'm still not overwhelmed with contacts, but for those of us who are on, 'tis fun.

Whatever works for you, Cool Crystal. I am the opposite; I benefit from posting certainly not to compete (I'm a one-half pound a week loser, I'd never win!), but rather it provides a little more incentive. Knowing and respecting how you think is critical to being successful. Isn't it great we are all different? I did my walking again last night, so I met my committment of 3X this week. I will be weighing (at the Y) on Mondays...I haven't yet let that enemy of my psyche (a scale) into my house!

Why am I still holding on to those clothes?

I love the expression - undergrow! -
Cool Crystal - I agree that all things in moderation is the right approach. The challenge for me and nuts...no moderation. My head does not recognize moderation for that food substance, hence the embargo. If I were to use the equivalent ice cream example, my inital few spoonfuls would see the spoon size getting bigger and bigger and heaped higher and higher...until it was an ice-cream scoop I would be shovelling in! And then before you know it, one tub of ice-cream would be gone! I made it through another nutless night...only 1 more to go. Which shall it be tomorrow - almonds, pistachios, pecans ?? OK - RSG, Ezma, Glou - how did you do?

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

AMEN. Amen sista! -
She Smiles - sorry for your loss. Another vote for BBK done. While I was walking home last night, i encountered a little mouse stupidly trying to cross a major road. I spent endless minutes trying to scoot it back to the treeline, but alas it evaded me. Needless to say, a few drivers were puzzled at my apparent random dancing on the sidewalk, except for one guy in a truck who yelled to me 'Kill it, you idiot." It's Friday - Yeah! Another freakin' raining day - blech. But Friday, so on balance, a good day.

5.5 months since surgery and 100lbs GONE!
tapshoes replied to Eat2Live's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is just fabulous! And yes, I am a little jealous too, but I certainly don't begrudge you your success! -
Stay safe - you, your family, and all in the path of Ike.

I have periodically lurked on the "bycyling" thread in the fitness area, but man oh man those guys seems so hard core. I too have thought about getting a bike and giving it a ride (or it, me) but haven't ventured into a store. I rationalize this as making a sound fiscal decision rather than avoiding physical exercise!! And now with winter fast approaching (and I live where there is snow) it mayn't be the best time... What'cha all think?
-
Yes Mike, I too support the "it's ok if the weight is going down or the same, but I'm not gonna play if my weight goes up" reasoning!! OK RSG - dream up a good table, and we will all do our bit in being accountable to each other and ourselves.
-
Whoo hoo!!! Way to go!
-
shiny/skinny (hee hee), 3 pounds down - WOW!!! Way to go:w00t: Even immediately post-op I never lost that kind of weight; I was strictly a one-half, 3/4 of a pound loser...until this freakinfrackin plateau!
-
Ezma - way to resist! yeah!!! RSG - you are trying to quit 2 things at once - that cannot be easy. So, yeah on not having the cig. Today is another day Glou - yeah to hubby for failing to buy that pathetic reasoning. SNT - you are a funny one! The inclination is more to sabottage my co-worker's stability ball, but I resist. She is one skinny toned muscle ...in some ways I envy her commitment and her body, but more often I just wish she'd keep her skinny butt out of my sight. Another nut free night for me...only 2 more sleeps until I can savor the flavor of whole dry-roasted almonds...not that I'm counting or anything:w00t:

I didn't enjoy it the first few times, however, as I refuse to throw out good food, I started using it as a condiment (using it as a substitute for mayo in a salad, or veg dip, etc) rather than a meal. It did take some time, but now, I quite enjoy it. But I also enjoy the fruity-traditional ones too. So, both are in my fridge, and both are enjoyed.

How do you get in enough calories?
tapshoes replied to littlefroggy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
EEKS! I can't imagine that few calories. Bump it up with some protein - a tbsp peanut butter, or a piece of cheese, or a handful of nuts (my weakness) -
Yesterdays menu B: 1 oz cheese S: 1/2 cup of melon L: 1/2 stuffed zucchini boat; 1/4 cup ff yogurt D: 1 oz poached salmon; 2 slices tomato; 1 broccoli branch S: ff pudding (2 of them...tsk tsk)

I really want to break this plateau... -
And I walked last night as well...so 2X this week, once more to meet my committment. So ... what day will be our day of weigh-in and posting our weeks achievement??
-
Yes indeedy, waaayyyy tooo many people experiencing the cancer phenomenon.
-
RSG - What an entertaining and honest blog! I too would have liked to have been in the store when you quit via intercom!!
