I feel your pain, RSG...
-
After rummaging in files this weekend, I finally located some quilt pics...I've done dozens, but sadly took photo's of very few. I scanned a few ...they don't look too good, but that's the trouble with scanning photo's. Now all I have to do is remember to upload them tonight.

Glad to see you posting; I can relate to losing slowly...boy, can I ever. i was a one-half a pound a week loser until I hit this plateau from hell... Keep checking in with us...we miss our posters when they go AWOL!

Congratulations on the 100 pounds, and on the success of your journey. It isn't just the weight loss, it is the attitude and health that goes with it. A great story...so far! I await the sequel.

i am staying on plan today because ...

This plateau will HAVE to break some day, and that's only going to happen if I stay the course. -
Enjoyed your blog this morning, RSG. I hope you survived - both Ike and Marci's reactions. Nice dog too!
-
This year I am making x-stitched cards - quick and easy to do.

Yeah Ezma on breaking your plateau...that's fabulous! And yeah on the increasing exercise, too! While you are looking forward to fall, I just forsee the snow that will be coming soon...blech! Walking on icy sidewalks, unploughed paths, snow and slush and icy Water in your boots, pants salt-stained...........ugh!!!! So, on my weigh day - did you hear that very long plaintive cry??? I am still plateau-ing!:cursing::cry_smile: So, neither loss nor gain for Tap. I did day 1 of the extra exercise yesterday; thismorning's weigh in did not inspire me to continue, but I shall...tap writes grumpily.

Anyone experiencing change of taste/smell?
tapshoes replied to Mom2_4's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh I wish it would happen to me! No changes have been noted in anything - smell or taste or even desire. Maybe as I continue on this journey that will happen. Perhaps it has something to do with weight gone, or percentage of weight gone or something? (Tap writes this optimistically hoping that it WILL happen to her later) -
Way to go Ezma - icecream as planned, in moderation. If it is the mint that's your trigger, I hope you have banished creme de menthe from the liquor cabinet as well, otherwise I can see a drizzle of that on the ice cream! SNT - skinny friends/co-workers can be SUCH a pain! BTW- Belated birthday greetings! Napping in the afternoon is not a bad thing; it is a healthy thing - as long as it doesn't interfere with your sleep at night. RSG - how did you do with your double addiction battles? Glou - Yoo hoo? How did you do? As for me, I made it through the entire weekend nut free! I had fully intended to enjoy my Sat portion, but then got busy doing some Xmas crafts, and just plain forgot! Then Sunday I said, nope, Saturday is my day, and I missed it, so I do without. (Let's see how long THAT lasts!).

Mommy Dearest, thanks for making sure I never feel happy!
tapshoes replied to Boo Boo Kitty's topic in Rants & Raves
Reading the letter 'blind' as it were, that is, without knowledge of the 'other stuff' in your history, I only felt her concerns. They were a little dramatic, but concerns expressed for her daughter and grand daughters. Whether we agree with them or not, she did articulate her concerns. Perhaps given the history of your relationship (as much as we know), the best response is a 'Thank you for your concerns'. You are an adult, and will do what you believe to be best for you and your children. Believing in yourself is an important trait to instill in your children; your pin-up is the outward expression of that self-confidence. There is nothing sleazy or pornographic about it. I guess, a 'thank you for your concern. I hear what you said. Discussion over' is the essence of the message I would give your mother. -
Great idea; it sure as hell is needed!!! BBK - There are no words to alleviate your stress. I wish for you strength.
-
I am glad to hear that things are working out relatively smoothly during this difficult time. Be strong.

Posting to whine about the %%$%%$ rain....and more rain, and more rain, and more rain... And to say I voted for BBK again. And to say, Congrats to She smiles.

So- Do You Sit Down and Eat Like The Rest of The Family?
tapshoes replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I eat the same - just less of it. -
Oh good, I thought maybe it was just me....
-
That is fabulous!!! Keep it up (the good work, I mean, not the weight!)
-
Stream of consciousness writing...this I understand.

A unit of measurement is constant. An inch is always an inch - it does not matter whether it is measured in 1/8ths, 1/16ths, or by the width of elastic bands...an inch is always an inch. (although measurements by men may vary...:tongue2:) This is also true in the measurement of weight. What does this have to do with anything? If I read one more time that a pound of fat weighs less than a pound of muscle, I think my eyes will start to bleed, and steam pour out of my ears!!! A pound = a pound. The space they occupy will be different (for example, your waist may be smaller but your total weight the same), but the weight will be constant. A ton of feathers is the same weight as a ton of gold coins...but the amount of space required to achieve that weight will be significantly different. OK. Class dismissed.
-
But is it holding food with muscle in it? If so, it weighs twice as much.
-
There is such as thing as a metric teaspoon, therefore no conversion is necessary. If however we are discussing a non-metric teaspoon into grams, then I need to know what teaspoon....a US or UK? And of course we all know we shouldn't be converting teaspoons (volume) to grams (weight)....

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
tapshoes replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OK Janet, I hope your table seats a lot, because it appears we are all going to your place for dinner! I scanned my supermarket, but those chilis aren't available...we don't have the same selection further north. I shall shop around to see if I can find them, because the recipe sounds delicious! -
I too was looking at the calendar of classes from my Y, and spied a waterjog class. Perhaps I shall take one to see if I like it, or am at least willing to do it more than once!
