Whoo - hoo! That is fabulous! And a size 10...who cares what the scales say, a size 10 in the closet is wonderous!! Way to go!

Pregnancy induced cravings I can understand. Sadly, the chocolate-covered meat thing is not restricted to mama's-to-be; there is a wide audience of tasters - completely beyond my comprehension.

I don't stand a chance of breaking the plateau unless I do. -
Shiny/skinny...Don't be too hard on yourself about the weight gain - our bodies fluctuate alot. It averages out over time...at least, this is the rationale I have decided to believe it! Hope your husband hears soon about the position...ideally he hears because he is successful. Keep us posted.
-
OUCH!!! Keep us posted.
-
and then there are those who take it, and cover it in chocolate!

WOW - Lots of things going on here.... SheSmiles - I concur; a variety of perspectives makes things interesting (and only occasionally volatile). And, sorry to hear about your sore toe. ThinnerDenise - The bosses husband? Not the boss? And yeah, right, not really her boyfriend, and not going to be freinds anymore. I believe it...not! Fairy, Losin, Thinner and Susan - I cannot relate to being best friends with my mother. Nor can I relate to being alienated from her. She is as she is, I am myself. We love each other because we are related, but that's it. Glou - nothing like being home, is there? LilMissDiva - Glad to see you back. BBK - voted again. OK...am I caught up?? It's Wednesday...and I'm boppin' to the music on my Ipod until such time as any coworker arrives to spoil my fun.

I'm on a roll..... -
I agree with Justmel - and in fact, I had almost the same situation only for Easter. I put small amounts of what I could eat (potatoes, mashed turnip, etc) on my plate. I was prepared (if anyone was so rude as to ask why I was not eating more) to say that all the work in preparing the meal takes away some of the pleasure in eating it, and that I am a nibbler when I cook. A very honest statement. In fact, not one person commented...everyone was too busy with their own plates to worry about me, and I was busy clearing plates, preparing the second or third courses, getting the desserts/coffee, pouring wine etc. It is not anyone's business including inlaws, or my family. I am an adult - what I do to my body is MY business, no one else's. Therefore, no one (DH excepted) knew, or knows of my surgery.
-
I chose not to tell anyone other than DH. Why? Because I did not want the endless questions: how much have you lost; can you eat that; etc. Nor did I want a bunch of 'monitors' watching every mouthful I took or the unsolicited comments one way or another on what I chose to do to my body.

Today, I did my second of the 3 extra walks for this week...not because of any inspiration or overwhelming desire to, but rather I've been up since 1am and couldn't sleep, so once the sun rose, I went for a brisk walk...

Done. When does voting end?

OK I posted (I think) 2 pics of quilts. As mentioned, the colors and detail aren't really demonstrated, but what the heck, they're posted. I am waiting to see some others!

Congratulations to everyone - lots of positive energy and good NSV's! I note though that several of you refer to going into retirement in a negative way. For me, I am SO looking forward to retirement, and even more so as my health and body image and body improve!! I'm thinking retirement is going to be a blast without the hassles/inconveniences of work...come on retirement!!!! -
Great attitude - and just wait for your 50's...

Unfortunately, a scan of an old photo does not reproduce well. The quilt is varying shades of purple.

It's 3am and I'm wide awake - have been since 1:30...who is awake at this time of night by choice?? Grumble bitch moan complain; insomnia sucks! Growing older sucks. Having cats sit on the keyboard while you are typing is a pain in the proverbial
-
Stupid NSV, BUT I can see bits of the chair seat as I'm sitting on it. Here I was, sitting at my desk, lamenting/cursing my plateau, and for the first time ever I noticed that there is chairseat visible to the left and right of my legs, and some chair is showing between my legs (I'm wearing pants, it's not that Im wearing a skirt hiked up to the wazoo!!). Yippee!!!! Tapshoes spins on her chair like a giddy kid at a soda shop (those of you old enough to know what that is can appreciate the excitement of that novelty).
-
Oh RSG, that's a lot of crap to deal with...but you seem to have the right attitude - yeah!! Stay away from the freezer section at the grocery store. Yoga in underwear...I had a mental image of me in my grannie panties doing a few contortions...if nothing else, that gave me a giggle!
-
Old lady eyes? What's that? Do I have potentially another ailment that I don't know that I have????? After all, I am older than you! I'm older than almost everyone...except my mom, and psychologically, she is younger!
-
Glad to hear you and your house escaped unscathed; so many faced so much damage to their propoerty's. I cannot imagine that kind of devastation. Glad your dog enjoyed the romping and you, the cooking. I hope your GF has now relxed - it must be terrible and very disabling to fear that much.
