i am staying on plan today because ...

it would be a collosal waste of money if I didn't. I'd like to stay on plan because I am losing results, but for the last month or so I haven't...I'm discouraged. I shall persevere, but my motivation is failing.....................................

    Let's talk booze!

OK my fellow VVs, let's see if this poll starts a discussion. Now that you are banded, and after 6 months are settling into a routine, what is your alcohol consumption pattern? For me, Beer is out - the whole carbonation issue Everything else - I have so few calories, I want FOOD! That, and my social life sucks, so the opportunities to go out and have a drink or two are few and far between. Thus, since banding, not one alcoholic drink.

    Givin' up the ice cream

Oh Ezma, if it helps keep you on track, WE ARE WATCHING YOU!! Thinner is better, healthy is good, we CAN do this! RSG - I certainly can relate - aggravating does not BEGIN to describe it! You stated you were always hungry - is it possible a fill is in order? I know that you discussed this earlier; can you get one now? Fighting the addiction is so much harder if you have hunger as well. Being on the patch - that's good. I hope it helps. Thinner - Stay away from Baskin and Robbins! 'Treats' are fine; it is when they become daily fixes that trouble starts. Shelly - Dreaming of food? Egads, it's bad enough fighting the visual cues when you are awake (damned food network and advertisements), but when you start dreamiing of food, that's just horrid! Salty and crunchy - I'd suggest nuts, but I don't want my particular addiction to spread!! Melolo - Good thing you and Ezma aren't neighbours!! No to the choc mint icecream, and make those 3 musketeers walk the plank!! Avaemora - If you can go 'cold turkey' great. For most of us, by saying never again, we set ourselves up to fail. Allowing ourselves an occasional treat seems to work - most of the time. Our group is growing; I hope our addictions are losing their hold! I can't say that's true for me, I still crave those salty, crunchy, tasty, flavorful, lovely nuts....................:rolleyes2::drool:

    I?m alive!!!!....

That's fabulous news - I hope it does come through. And yes, we accummulate a lot of stuff. I relocate about every 3-5 years and still I am amazed at the crap I manage to collect between moves! Each move I throw out more stuff, but somehow, the law of the universe is, if there is empty cupbaord/attic/garage/shed space, it must be filled! Keep us posted.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Thankfully DH is able to do almost all renovations in our house - and 60year old bungalows that previous owners did not maintain, nor do basic upgrade to, need a lot of love and attention! Pre-DH, good contractors were well-worth the money; bad contractors were nothing but trouble!

  10. B: oatmeal with 1/2 cup berries S: 1/2c ff yogurt L: 1c tuna Pasta salad D: bacon (2 slices) and eggs (2 scrambled) S: 1/3 cup raisins and 1 ff pudding (oops, gotta watch that snacking) I eat Breakfast before I go to the Y - 5 am or so. Snacks - my doc encourages it; keeps the metabolism up, and decreases the urge to eat a lot at meals. Apples2 - congratulations

    Let's talk booze!

According to my doc, yes, we will get 'buzzed' faster. So, for that reason, and of course the useless calories, he strongly discourages (but does not ban) the occasional drink. I'm still alcohol-free...I always think of something better to have...like nuts!

    Accountability

Shiny...That is wonderful! Take the weight loss, whatever the cause! RSG - Thanks for the words of Yoda....staying on theme, I'd like to have a light saber...I could slice some of this gut away quickly! Pity party for one, coming up....I am just so discouraged. Other times I have been saddened but then 'perked up' again, but it is 2 days later and I'm still in this funk. I haven't done the extra exercise yet this week (although I am consistent with my daily exercise), and really I have no inclination, no interest in doing the 'extra'. I am still closely monitoring my intake, still drinking my Water, have upped the Protein content of my meals, but it just isn't happening for me. And I just can't seem to rally around, or even get angry. :rolleyes2:

I hate it when people post just to post.....

There are days when I just don't like the human race... Sometime during last evening/night, a vehicle drove over the sidewalk at the front on my house, and over the pressure treated lumber barrier that separates the sidewalk from my property (I'm on a bit of a slope), breaking the barrier, and then drove onto the lawn. Apparently they/he/she 'gunned it' to make a hasty departure, and gouged a significant hole in the lawn (previous posts would have referred to the seemingly endless rain, therefore ground is still very water logged). No one came to the door to apologize – grr! The deductible is more than the cost of repair, so of course, I will pay out of pocket to replace the boards, paint them, and just leave the lawn to repair itself – but I am not impressed! And the morning is the BEST time of day... BBK - hope your throat improves Plain - you do like to tease, don't you? Gas - don't get me started on the oil industry and its connections with governments.

Yes indeed Luluc, I am an early bird. I am usually up 430 - 445 - workday or not. But don't try to get me to do anything after 9pm...it ain't gonna happen!

    Ladies with large chests...

Yes indeed, I know well the 'chest piercing by underwire' phenomenon! I learned after a while that before I wore the bra, to stitch an extra padding of quilted fabric over the ends from which the wire would invariably escape...it didn't prevent it, but it did delay the inevitable! Although I don't anticipate ever being 'wireless', I am hoping that when I get small enough, I can graduate to the lighter plastic wire rather than the industrial suit of armor wear I have to wear now!

    Night before surgery

My doc's instructions were a modified 'mushies' diet for 2 days before, nothing by mouth after midnight on the day of surgery. So now 'last supper' blow outs, or even tastes.
