Vacuuming done; kitchen cupboard doors washed; laundry room floor washed; wine transferred to second stage; dinner in the oven...what next?
-
OK - Saturday paper is read cover to cover...including the comics. Crossword is done; saving Soduko for later. DH consumed 2 pieces of pie, I ate the cheese I had decorated the plate with! Happy Birthday SNT!! Suzy - Don't over exert yourself. Lu - enjoy your soggy day. Slim - Stew - a fav winter dish. All those root veggies simmered slowly in a rich broth.....mmmmm. Time to get doing something....but what? Some of the hand sewing waiting to be done? Clothes alterations? Changing out the wardrobes - summer to winter? Vacuuming? so many chores, so little interest or inclination....
-
DH and I went apple picking - picked a bushel in about 10 minutes. Have since come home, made an apple pie (naturally), and am sitting reading the Saturday paper with another cup of coffee. Apple picking and pies were not on the list....oh well. There's still this afternoon and this evening.
-
DH's suggestion - a facecloth duct-taped over the eye - I guess that would be the industrial look??? Pot of coffee number 2 in process. I made a list of everything I need to do this weekend (I love lists)...now, if only i could get off my getting-bigger-by-the-day-ass and DO them. or even a few. ok, do one......

Morning everyone... although probably only Slim awake now. It's taken a while for my eye to unglue itself and that's with hot compresses to help it. DH finally managed to get some drops into my eye last night, but I swear the 10 days supply is almost gone! Oh the teenage years:ohmy::wink:...parents of young ones, you have my sympathy. Raging hormones combined with immaturity...yes indeedy! Heart/Pool Girl - you dissin' my fish??? OK - time to take my crusty eye and see what the day holds; if I go out in public, I'm thinking an eye patch will be de rigeur.
-
But you could make a rustic cookbook holder from them. I know this. I know it because I did. :cursing::laugh: (Hey, at 13 years of age, I thought it was fine craftsmanship).

Grandmothers walls...yes, exactly. In my case, my grandfathers bathroom walls...for 50+years. They're part of my history, but I just cannot see putting them up. Trust me, the owls are worse. The owls with painted clocks on their bellies are much worse. And then there are the bright blue birds....oh my. Tell you what Lu, unless my teenage nephews express a desire to have the fish (HIGHLY unlikely), I will arrange to send them to you once my Aunt dies. (By then I hope to have met you, and have an address, otherwise I'm not sure what UPS would do with a package addressed to "Lulu in Texas a tiny little lady who lives on a big ranch with her husband, loves dogs, loves to cook, loves wine and who doesn't have children")
-
Lulu - you wanted to see the fish...Well, here is one of them, and the bubbles. There's another fish with similar bubbles. Pink fish. Pink bubbles.

Thanks be this day is almost over!!! When I woke up today my eye was red and slightly swollen - no itching or pain though. But, I went to the clinic - and after a wait in a room filled with coughing, snorting, sniffling, crying, moaning people (was there a special deal on that I didn't know?) I see the doc who says 'WOW. You don't often find someone who has 2 different issues in one eye at the same time" Great, just great. I have both a stye and pink eye. So I am told to bathe the eye with hot compresses (I can do that) and drop in antibiotics 4X day. OH NO!! I DON"T DO EYES!!! Eyes are icky! (So since 10 am I have tried 3 X and about the only thing I have done is washed my face with antibiotics...ain't nothing going in! My toilet is blocked, so I had to go to the mall to use the BR until DH arrived home.:scared2: And for several hours my email wasn't working.:cursing: NOT a great day for food and exercise either. It is time to go to bed and hope for a better tomorrow. ARGHH!!! -
Was the test rigged? I think we all need something!
-
Note to self: Never get Lulu mad at me - she may be tiny but she's got a temper and a twisted evil side!!!
-
How about - deadline to grow a pair??
-
And the winner in the 'Diagnosis by LBT PJTP posters is......' It was a tie. I have both a sty and conjunctivitis. Well, yahoo! The clinic was filled with coughing, sneezing, hacking people - they must have had a 2 for 1 special on at the clinic or something! Anyway, after sitting in that germ filled office, the doc looks at my eye and says "WOW! You don't often have 2 things wrong in the same eye at once". I'm just lucky I guess! Treatment - warm compresses - easy to do. Drops 4X day - OMG! I have tried 2X now and the only thing happening is I'm having my face washed by the drops...none is getting in! YAHOO! Oh wait...I don't have a working toilet, and I'm functioning on one eye. Maybe not a great long weekend! I noticed....YAY!!!!:frown::w00t: Hi G4E...I hope you can spend some time getting caught up on the postings and keep us up to date on what's happening with your neck, and your family.

Morning everyone - and thank heavens it is Friday!! CKK - I am so sorry that you had this situation develop. However, you have lost the weight, and now perhaps your new lifestyle can be continued without the band! Don't leave us though; we are still going to want to keep in touch and know how you are doing. St Louis - glad to hear you can get a replacement and continue on your journey. Yes indeed, doing the post-op diet will suck, but you can do it! I hope everyone else is doing ok... Take care ladies! -
Morning! It's not a great morning here in Tip-tap land...I'm sitting typing whilst my eye is crusted shut, weeping and swollen...pretty! I am waiting for the walk-in clinic to open, and will then go there and have the doc try to look at my eye. I don't do eyes! I don't like things coming at my eyes (hence why I don't wear eye shadow or mascara). My toilet is clogged.:seeya::thumbup: My email is not working - oddly, I can connect to the 'net, open mail from yesterday and read it, however all mail received last night is blank when I open it. I can't respond to it either. Making it difficult to send an email to my office to explain why I'm not there! Guess I'll use the other technology - a phone! Is it time to go back to bed?!?!?:frown:
-
PJTP - Thought my eye felt a little 'funny'...looked in the mirror and my eye is partially closed, the eyelid is flaming red and swollen. Methinks there may be a problem here! I don't do eyes. ICK. No eye dr has ever been able to get drops into them without holding my eyes open. Can't imagine going to visit a doc for this. I've got 2 of them, right???
-
OMG! Yes indeedy, particularly at times like these, the companies come to the potential employees at their home (at early afternoon so as to not disrupt sleeping in) with fabulous job offers. (The sound you hear is the sarcasm dripping....) And certainly, every adult wants to live off their parents!!! Sounds like a you have a good man there. And a plan. Another lucky woman with a good man! Hope you hear something positive on your interview! And another one! Yes indeed - quality of life versus the demoralizing tiring demeaning exhausting pursuit of ever more stuff! Sorry to hear that, Ebony. Oh well, more time to dedicate to finding a new job where you are appreciated!

could it be from the daggers you are shooting him, and the sparks flying of the keyboard???:w00t:
-
I just told him if he does this to me again, I'm outta here. So Beth, what was his response? I feel sorry for what you are going through, and an incredible amount of rage directed at this man I don't even know!

When I was going through the 'blahs' I had a slight de-fill. Now that I am over it (for the most part), I can (and have been) eating a la porker! But I won't get a re-fill for about a month...how much weight do you suppose I will gain??? WHEW is right! Glad to hear he was safe; glad to know all passengers/crew involved are safe. And wondering about enhanced 'security' effectiveness if it is only in certain countries... So, what's the rent in 'fantasy land'? Maybe... Any other relative perhaps, but not this aunt. She would immediately sulk, make life miserable for my mother with her comments on ungrateful children, etc. These things are memory 'catchers' for me, and she knows that I am the family member who would be most likely to appreciate the history. And in that respect she is correct. If I had a big house with lots of space etc I would incorporate these things somewhere, but I am in a TEENY TINY bungalow - no room for pink plaster fish! (PS - Lu - I'll try for a pic tonight) WOW - I would never thnk of these things! Of course, DH and I never eat out, I hate shopping so am rarely in a store, that leaves just internet shopping. Morning everyone! A gorgeous sunny warm-ish day! Wish I was outside playing in the dirt!

You may remember my story of the aunt who gave me boxes and boxes and boxes and boxes of books. Her most recent gift to me has arrived...and before I list them, you must know that these items are ones that were in my grandparents house, and were there from before I was born. These things are a minimum of 50 years old - most my mother thinks are 65 years or more. That being said, the box that arrived contained: 1. Two PINK plaster fish with separate pink bubbles (a set of 2 fish and 5 bubbles). These were on the bathroom wall. 2. Two ceramic owls about 8" in height - these sat on the kitchen wall at the farm. 3. One metal plate frame with a brass picture insert of the last supper. This was in the dining room - where children could never go, but we could see into it. 4. Two multi-colored blue bird ornaments (about 10" high)...I don't remember these, but my mother does! Now, what am I going to do with this stuff? My aunt is coming for a visit next month and will certainly scope out the joint looking for them. I don't like ANY of them (fond remembrances, yes) and even if I did like them, I have no wall space for them. My house over-floweth; I have no room for additional STUFF. I'm NOT a knick-knack-y person; I dislike clutter and decorative things other than the artwork I select. I don't want to seem ungrateful or hurt her feelings. I also received a beautiful white embroidered tablecloth that sat on the dining room table...that we were not allowed at. It's gorgeous and will be put to use.

You can do it! Rah Rah! (See, I'm a great cheer leader, but not one to do these things). I did my 10 days pre-op no problem, and followed the post op plan (of one month's duration) to the 't', but to do it now seems impossible!! I'll continue to cheer you and Glou from the ether! Hmmmm.....I wonder if this is how DH feels. When we met, and for the first few years living together, I was doing a fair bit of travel. Now it is one or 2 trips a year - that's it. I wonder if I should ask him? NOPE! I'm so sorry KC...I'm close to being paranoid about using my cc# at any time for fear of something similar happening. Do you know if any other people using that same service were also victims?
-
Pun intended? Coffee? Grind? coffee grind....oh never mind. Why a rough night? Ewww...some of the coffee might be over 20 minutes old. ick. You do better on the Pouch test than I do - I don't even get started! He gets around, doesn't he? Didn't he just get back from Canada? Pool girl - how was your psych eval? Ebony - have you had your meeting yet? Keep strong!
-
Coffee grounds are good for gardens, so just pour them around some of your plants...get some good of it! OK - DH is up now, so time to get moving...have a great day, Slim.
-
MILD?!? What kind of craziness is that?? Coffee - strong, black, caffeinated, hot. Mild - pshaw! I'm sure that's a food law they are breaking!
