Um, he's 20? As long as you are content with that, then that's great. Otherwise, I suggest now would be the time to nurture/lead/teach (in a very unthreatening to his male ego kind of way) that there can be more. IMO you are missing out on a lot! DH is in his 60's, and he'll be delighted to discover he is doing significantly better than a 20 year old!

I'd love to be able to take ALL my books everywhere, but alas, moving every 3-5 years (at my own expense) negates that...sadly, I'm not independently wealthy, or else they would never leave me!! However, I am reassured that other bibliophiles benefit, and so the books go to a good home. One thing I do: every time I fly, I buy a paperback best seller, and read it en-route. When I leave the plane, I leave the book behind, with my name(first only) and city of residence inside, with a note asking that the next person who reads it to do the same, and spread the word as it is. I often wonder where my (donated) book goes....

Belts were my new fashion accessory when I began this journey. I could wear blouses a lot longer when I cinched the waist (imagine. Me, with a waist!!) with a new belt. Otherwise, I just looked too sloppy for business. P.S. I have NO idea what the name of the belt buckle pokey-part is; I'm now on a mission to find out.

That's excellent news - congratulations!

What she said!!!!:bolt: The restaurant sells a specific product, if you do not want that product, perhaps you should rethink going into it.

But I am both - lots of shoes and books! I only have 5 6' tall 5' wide bookshelves at the moment though; every time I move I sell bookshelves and books, and then start over (with the exception of maybe 2 bookshelves worth of books with which I will never part - from my first Nancy Drews to my 1 bookcase of only quilting, embroidery, knitting, sewing and crafts books. The cost of moving books is astronomical!

The following email was sent to my by a friend. I doublechecked on snopes.com the veracity - it is true. Although it is specific to the American female population, regardless of nation the message is the same. WHY WOMEN SHOULD VOTE This is the story of our Grandmothers and Great-grandmothers; they lived only 90 years ago. Remember, it was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote. <B><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=4><SPAN lang=EN-GB style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold; FONT-SIZE: 13.5pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'">

Hey 7 months later, my cats still circle the dining room table expectantly...they just cannot be reasoned with!

Any hint of violence or agression is the time to leave! Congratulations, be strong. And ENJOY yourself!

LJM - Although they look sturdy, I would have no occasion to wear those - absolutely not with my skirts, and at home it is slippers inside, sneakers for running around town, and in my garden its my rubber boots or hiking shoes. Susan/Leslie - Nope. Don't like ebooks. I love a new book without a cracked spine or mangled pages. When I am suffering 'new book' purchase pain, I do venture to used books store and bag a couple of bags to tide me over until my next bookstore run. joyramonesgirl - I like books, but I would never volunteer to go anywhere naked even for an unlimited shopping spree. I might however ask if Plain would be my standin!! Green - yes indeed, red shoes go lovely with navy too. As do my teal shoes, my white shoes, my open-toed pink ones, and so on...hence the need for many pairs!

yah - Happy Birthday!:tongue2::wink2: -
Whatever it takes, Mel, whatever it takes!!

I can't imagine that - like all my other projects, I have dozens started, and left in different rooms, and all 'in process' at the same time. Shoes - well friends and coworkers refer to me as Imelda just because in my office I have 2 shoe racks and one filing cabinet drawer, and at home I have multiple shoe racks and a 5 shelf 3 sided storage unit just for shoes. But I don't really buy that many!! It is just that I keep my shoes in good condition, so that they last years. My office shoes never see outside - therefore are never exposed to puddles, mud, tar, etc. I wear my sneakers to work, and change into my shoes. For example, today I am wearing a classic 2 1/2" heeled, closed toe navy leather pump. As they are only worn with a navy suit, never are worn outside, and are reheeled maybe every 2 years, and polished regularly they last. These classic shoes of good quality leather cost a fortune when I bought them, but have lasted almost 10 years.

Really hard time adjusting to life with the band?
tapshoes replied to dietpeach's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm only 7 months banded, so I can't answer long-term (Jachut is my reference point for long-term banded life). However, I can say that I too have not had a lot of difficulty in living with the band. I still have bread, rice, etc just really small portions. I have everything (except soda) but much smaller portions. It was frustrating at first to give up my diet coke, but on balance, health was more important. Now, I don't even miss it. The real challenge was (and continues to be) not in WHAT I eat, but in HOW I eat. I discovered that I am a 'gulper' by nature. I did not chew alot, and this has been the most difficult lesson to learn (and relearn, and relearn...). I also apparently talked a lot when eating with the result that I would swallow air which then just gave me more problems. Chew chew chew chew chew....don't talk, and chew some more. My difficulty! -
RSG - the fact that your clothes are fitting differently is the sign that you are building muscle mass, and losing fat. That's great and the scale be damned! I'm so glad for you.
-
Have had a pedi once in my life...just can't see the point when my feet are covered all day, and I can always think of something better to spend my paltry pennies on...like books. Books - just can't have too many.
-
Hyperbole perhaps, not lying. And do I detect just a hint of sarcasm?
-
Is the cost variable depending upon the strategic placement of the cheeto bag?
-
Yeah Ezma!
-
That is fantastic! You should be so prooud of yourself. And hey, the age thing is a non-issue - health at any age!
-
It is Friday morning, thanks be to who/whatever... LJM - 3 weeks for a pedicure? Is she the only manicurist in town? or do toenails grow exceedingly fast in your town? or does everyone have mani/pedi's? Plain - Weeping? Nah, I pictured you more as the man's man; no weeping.
