    Should I feel guilty

Although I don't use them, I see nothing wrong in using them as they provide the portion and calorie control which are necessary for all of us. Go for it!

    DH, I love you, but.....

Telling me as I am preparing to go to bed Friday night that your ex, one of her daughters from a previous marriage, plus her (XSD) husband, and their 2 children are going to stop by 'sometime Saturday', is not the way to ensure I have a good night's sleep! Saturday's are grocery shopping, laundry, gardening day, not spit polish, whip together an impressive meal and dress in something other than sweats day! It is now 6pm, they stopped by for about 10 minutes, went for a tour of the town, just called to say they would be eating out (after I have the meal prepared including 2 desserts). I encouraged them to return here for coffee (if only to get the Desserts out of the house - DH has a sweet tooth), and they say, well we really don't drink coffee. But, we will see how the highway is and how we feel after dinner. DH says to me, "See, all the fuss for nothing". If it wasn't that I have a great sense of humor, I'd deck him!

I want another big cup of plain black strong coffee.

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

How about 2 pans of 12, or four pans of 6? I do!

    My step-mother knows everything...(long)

Well obviously lesson learned - your SM is not someone with whom you can have conversations. Keep this is mind when other life events raise their head! I would be polite as is required in any setting with her, but otherwise, forget her. Question: is she likely to discuss this (including her 'wisdom') with other family? Be prepared.

    What Do you DO!?!?!

Iced tea was my choice for the summer...and no, not the long island style. Just didn't drink anything - felt no need to heading into winter, maybe it will be coffee, or a single glass of dry red wine

Thanks RSG! How are you doing? Ummmm, do you suppose since it took 5 weeks to lose a half a pound, the weight gods/forces/mothernature/whatever will allow me to lose a little weight every week for 5 weeks? Or is that too much to ask/beg/plead???

Anyone know the life-span of bands?

My surgeon said to expect 15 years or so. However he said that in Australia (where they have been banding for a lot longer), there are cases that are more than that.

i am staying on plan today because ...

FINALLY, the scale moved! Staying on plan works (although sometimes it takes its sweet time to do so!!). After 5 weeks, the scale finally moved! So now, I will continue to stay on plan so it moves again next week.

In case you missed my other post...it wasn't a sonic boom you heard early this morning, it was my scream of joy! I broke my plateau......a half a pound. Yes indeedy, I lost 1/2 a pound after 5 tortuous weeks. Yeah Me!!!

    Givin' up the ice cream

Whoo hoo!! Yabba-dabba doo! Hee Haw! And all that jazz!! Yes indeedy, I 'broke' my plateau! Well maybe I didn't break it, merely bent it a little, but who cares. I am down half a pound! A half a pound in 5 weeks...who would have thought I'd be delirious, positively giddy with that, but I am. Thanks VVs (and others) for keeping me going when I was getting ready to quit. Oh yes, regarding the nuts, I did have them on Saturday (more than my 1 serving, but I didn't do toooo bad, and i didn't give in yesterday).

I did my gardening yesterday, so that's my three additional exercise events for this week. I may even get outside again today...but no promises! And that blessed plateau better be broken when I weigh in tomorrow!!! Stay tuned - for either a posting here, or a news bulletin about the mysterious case of a scale found hurtling through space!

I love lazy Sunday mornings...so far, 1 pot of coffee and 1 book have been completed. Contemplating what to do next...

    DH, I love you, but.....

One dessert is already wrapped in plastic, and foil, and placed in a cookie tin at the back of the freezer; the other..well, perhaps I'll invite my brother and his boys over for Sunday dinner - the two teenage boys could decimate a herd of cattle, me thinks! Good gracious, how on earth can anyone afford to feed growing 6' boys??? Why is it that one of the main attractions to DH - his calm, not-everything-is-that-important demeanor - can sometimes be SOO irritating? Good thing that as I love to clean, the house is usually clean, but still with 3 cats, the tumblin' tumbleweeds need to be attacked before any company crosses the threshold!
  22. So far I've gone from a DD to a C, and I hope this downward trend continues. However according to the woman who measured me, although the band size may continue to decrease (here's hoping), the cup size is probably stable. And BTW - as much as we measure ourselves and think we have the measurements correct, there is nothing like getting a proper fitting. It is well worth it.
