It is cold and wet and dark here this morning. BLECH Coffee though is hot ... and strong. Perfect!

The mental image I have of my body contorting into shapes and positions has me giggling!
-
Giving somehting up totally and forever just isn't inmy future. Once a week is a reasonable approach for me, and hey it's a bonus if I do not indulge one week. Maybe next time, just the once scoop without the cone would be a good compromise....then again, why am I telling you, when you are at goal? How rude am I???

Not just Texas. I had a business trip to Atlanta in Feb one year, and had a car rented. When I picked up the car at the airport, it had snow tires on it. Meanwhile I was peeling off my layers of down coat, scarf, gloves, and boots because it felt like spring. Really, snow tires in Atlanta in Feb???. Well THAT'S a disgusting mental image while I'm chew chew chewing my lentil soup! No siree. I've had snow enough for multiple lifetimes. I have worn out many pairs of mittens every winter, I hate the stinky boots, itchy wool etc. EWWWW! Ick. Chicago, Chicago...anyone else singing along with me?

I hope so too, RSG.

It's all DH's fault!! Just start over, Glou. We have all been there....

Oh Ezma, such a sensible answer! I was hoping for a "You go girl! Eat 'em by the bucket because they are NOT a nut, and are nutritious and miraculously have no calories!" I knew there was a reason why I didn't research the nutrition component (bad Tap), and why I subconsciously knew not to eat them (good Tap). So I guess they will be used sparingly as a fibre crunch to a salad or something, but not be a snack.

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

But LJM - this is a sign that DH really cares for you - he is intentionally separating the best part from the rest so that you can indulge in the icing and not be bothered with the cake part. Such a loving man, he obviously is! -
Glou - Obviously the solution was, not to stop! Lord knows I see that every day...stopping at a red light is apparently optional!
-
I can't imagine...90 in October. I hope I can visit my sis in California this fall, and thaw a bit...I'll take any temperature above freezing!
-
B: bowl of oatmeal S: 1 oz cheese L: bowl of lentil soup D: 1 oz cheese; bowl of lentil soup Can you tell I made a quadruple batch of lentil soup recently??
-
Excellent advise! Life is WAY too short to waste it with 'friends' like this.

just because. Bamboobabe - 8 weeks on a plateau?? You are to be commended for not giving up! Yeah you!! -
Ezma - I'm sorry to hear your husband is back in the hospital. Keeping on the 'straight and narrow' is difficult at the best of times; during stressful times it is more challenging/ My thoughts and prayers are with you and DH. Shiny/skinny/happy - Do you suppose there is a cosmic force that tries to keep a steady weight on the earth, so if one person loses another must gain??? I know your frustration, and hope it gives you strength to fight on.... slowmover - working out 2X in one day? Man, you are motivated! Congratulations on that, and keep up the effort. As for me, I did the 2nd of the 3 additional EE (exercise events) last night. Two down, one more to go. Keep up the efforts everyone! Report in, and let's support each other.

Glou - good to see you posting. And yes, having someone tell you want you want (or feel) is VERY annoying. It puts my back up too. Thinner - did you have a cone? or just a scoop of the icecream in a container? RSG - When is your fill? Losing 3 pounds is a good goal - although my recent experiences is weight loss would make it seem almost impossible!! OK VVs - are soy nuts considered nuts? I was going to have a few last evening, and then said, wait...although they are not a nut-nut, but rather a soybean, maybe this would be the same thing. So, I promised I would ask for your opinions.

Kat - Re the gossipers - way to go! Re the banding stuf - that's terrible. Plan to spend a lot of time getting things straight, including checking your credit rating. SNT - Working from home is great if you have a lot of self-discipline, and can avoid all distractions. Plain - the charleston is a great dance; I taught a highschool football team to include it as part of their warmup. It stretches and uses all muscle groups, requires agility and balance, can be done en masse, and is just fun. Frost overnight; winter is coming....
-
Can't stand chocolate in any way, shape or form - even the smell gags me! Coffee - unadulterated. If you put all the other crap in it, it isn't coffee. Deep fried anything - gag! Salmon - only fresh - not that stuff in a can. Broccoli - or any veggies - yeah! I love veggies. Now, cheese...any kind, any style, any flavour, any time, any place..... And the day is almost over - saints/deity of choice be praised!

If you want to dance, you go for it! (Can you tell that I may be someone who completely understands?)

It seems to me that you are making a good decision based on a realization of what you want in your life. The fact that you are still emotional is natural, but it is better to end this relationship on a positive note now, then later with resentment and anger. This man can remain a friend, and still be an important part of your new life, but it is time for you to move on. Enjoy being single and dating, and I wish you all the best in finding a new man who shares your interest in commitment and family.

Worried-People Trying To Talk Me Out of Surgery
tapshoes replied to Nikkoli110's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Excellent! This is exactly what to do. Do not engage the detractors in discussion. Walk away from them if you have to. It is your body. -
Yesterday's menu B: bowl of oatmeal - plain. S: ff yogurt L: bowl of lentil soup (about 1c) D: cubed chicken with chopped tomatoes, scallions, olives, peppers S: 2 ff puddings (oops...)
-
So Happyshiny - was the scale your friend today? slowmover - good for you! Hit the gym and keep your place snack-free. I did my first of the 3 extra exercise events for this week last night. 1 down, 2 to go. As silly as it seems, knowing that I will be posting that I have done (or not) my extra exercise is really helping keep me going. This accountability thread is working for me. Thanks RSG!

Shelly - pump up your Proteins - throw some Protein powder into your liquids. Smith - Cookie free for a week - YEAH!!! Ice cream 3X?? SNT - Suffering last meal syndrome??? Joanne - yes, it is best if you can avoid your 'guilty pleasure'; you have great will power! Ezma - substitutions are good...keep it up! RSG - You are doing good on the ice-cream. Maybe one addiction at a time is the best approach. You can do this; I believe in you.
