Yeah Shinyhappy - given your circumstances, this is great indeed! I know all about the incidental moving expenses that you have even if a company moves you; best to keep that money safe for that.
-
Providing a counterpoint - at what age WOULD it be appropriate? When they finish growing (late teenager), adolescent (early teen)? I was hefty in kindergarten (as evidenced by my school pics) and in retrospect, perhaps I should have been more closely monitored before I was 5.

Four pages of miscellaneous topics posted since yesterday morning - you guys are busy! Puppies and babies and sports and missing children and insomnia and a little bit of teasing.... Stream of consciousness ramblings. Posting to post it is a nice crisp Tuesday morning, and because I have nothing to add to the aforementioned topics.

That's fabulous! I too would find it uncomfortable if my boss was tugging on my clothes...

Perhaps they could see your wisdom, maturity, and life experiences, and thought only someone who was a lot older could radiate that! -
Confession Time - I was a blob on the weekend. Today - Did 35 min of fast and hard front crawl in the pool this morning.

Thanks RSG. Yes we will. We are stronger than our cravings. yeah Smith!! Oh Ezma, ouch! But that was yesterday. Today is a new day. Was all this food in your house, or is it from having to eat what's available/handy in the hospital?

Good questions Ezma. Let's see - I have good restriction (but not too tight - I know what that is like, I had it in May - OUCH!). Portion control - I wondered about that so about 3 weeks ago, out came the measuring cups etc. I'm good on those. Water consumption - never been a problem, I easily surpass the quota as I like water. When I talked with the nurse, she believes it is because I yo-yo dieted for many decades. My body is still adjusting to this change, and will probably take a year to finally believe (and respond appropriately) that it is a new lifestyle. I abused my body for many years;payback is a B***h!! Exercise, well, as you know, I now am committed to exercising 7 times a week - my original 4 (which I have been doing FAITHFULLY since June) plus the recently added 3 additional. I'm anxious to see how this will work out after a month or more (it's only been 3 weeks). I do think the nut addiction was a problem - although high in Protein, they are also high in fat. My total calories may have been ok, but the proportion of fat calories was high, so maybe that has been a factor. October is the true test - the lower fat calorie choices, increased exercise, and extra vigilance with measuring etc. If this doesn't work, I'll...I'll...I'lll...well I don't know what I'll do, but I will do something!! -
But Mondays are fabulous! My thinking - I have the whole week to do the crap on my desk, and I haven't screwed up yet! By Friday, the crap on my desk is still there (with its friends), and I've probably made a dozen gaffs.... Unless of course I'm on vacation...in which case, Monday's mean work is coming closer - GRRRRRRR!

The scale rewarded me with another one-half pound loss since last Monday. -
Yesterday B: an apple and a ff yogurt L: hard boiled egg; 1 oz cheese S: apple D: 1/2 thick sweet n sour porkchop S: handful of raisins
-
The good - I restrained myself, and had only 1 serving of the delicious demon nuts on Saturday night, as per my pledge. The bad - I also had 2 roasted marshmallows. I don't even like them, but sitting around the firepit, it was such a gorgeous evening, crisp cool night, DH got out the m-mallows and the smell of burnt sugar.... The ugly - I was a blob on the weekend; no exercise (other than the usual stuff when you are cooking, cleaning, etc). Not even a walk.

Discouragement is a common emotion; believe me, when I was 4 weeks with NO changes I was low, and somewhat depressed. The VV's have been keeping me going, and finally, I am losing agina - but slowly. A half a pound for each of the last 2 weeks. So that's 1 pound in 6 weeks. But as Ezma says, if we manage to keep 'on the program' it will come off - it just HAS to! -
Way to go LilMiss - 10 lbs in one week! RSG - Yeah!! But don't become addicted to the scale - remember, it is a very fickle, evil instrument that can turn on you at any time! As for me - I am down another 1/2 lb...that makes my grand total of 1 pound in 6 weeks. I'll take it! (I'd prefer to take LilMiss' 10, but that's not how the stars are aligning for me!)

SD tried to convince me that Nutella was tasty - blech!! It's a Monday morning; sun is rising, coffee is hot, morning swim was good, and no one is in the office to bother me. Ahhhhh.....peace and quiet.

I have so far to go, and it won't happen unless I do. I had 2 marshmallows last night. I have an Oct 31 goal and the end of the month is fast approaching. -
You missed one of the key things that makes a greek salad greek - OLIVES! Lots of olives. I don't include peppercinis, but I may throw in a sliced hard boiled egg. Yesterday's menu: B - apple with peanut butter L - shredded chicken breast with veggies S - 1 oz cheese D - 1c pasta with sauce, grated cheese S - 2 roasted marshmallows....Tap hangs her head in shame. What a stupid thing to have - I don't even LIKE sweets! But the open fire was nice, the sky was clear...
-
Oh RSG, that was yesterday. Today is another day - I hope there are no leftovers in the house though!! If there are, do yourself a favor and ditch them!
-
Good morning! 'Tis a grand Sunday morning; I'm enjoying my coffee, and the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. (The university crowd had some ritual football event and associated parties last night, so it is quiet now.) Sports - dislike them. SMSmithart - In my house, there is always something to clean, a closet to organize, a kitchen drawer to wash out....so no need for me to have idle hands. She - Love learning new slang; wish I had some Aussie friends to impress wtih this new lingo! Is the same slang used for those from New Zealand? I'd love to visit both Au and NZ but the cost, sweet heavens, the cost! Plain - is your truck also decorated with steer horns? Cobbler - just the fruit please, with real whipped cream (not ice cream), please. Luluc - Congrats on the run! OK - am I caught up now?
-
Yeah you!!! That's great, and the journey is just beginning!
-
Mac - I think the cranberry suits you! BBK - Although not unexpected, it does suck! But it is temporary.
-
Glad to hear your 'momma didn't raise no fool'...it sounds like you are taking precautions. Good. Just remember to keep vigilant! An interview would be fabulous! here's hoping!
-
That's fabulous!!! You have SO earned this positive news; we are all rooting for you! Ezma: I am sorry to hear of your battle with bureacracy; the fact that you can keep on the straight and narrow at all is a testament to your strength. Yah you!!!

:bananapowerslide:Although I like the multi-style dancing banana, when he does a pelvic thrust, it reminds me of Michael Jackson, and then I get the heebie-jeebies!
