It is a BRRRRR-isk Wed morning; hot coffee is essential for body warming purposes (wrapping hands around mug in an effort to get heat). This morning's adventure - finding gloves, scarves and hats at 530am.

As much as is possible I try to add in some extra walking or something - there is this accountability thread where I post my exercise, and I always fear that if I don't do something I will miss my self-imposed requirements! I had the time, so I just walked to the clinic, and when I got home I figured out the mileage...bless Googlemaps!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

WOW - I've never had pain with my fills. A small prick that I barely feel. And the nurse doesn't numb the area or anything. Maybe after all the surgeries in my lifetime, I have developed a different pain threshold or something. -
I am right with you Steve. Debate and discussion of ideas is healthy; insults, arguments and snide comments are not healthy whether between friends, co-workers or strangers. Regardless of political opinion or the results of the election, I hope everyone votes, and then respectfully works with the government.

RSG - I guess I will have to venture to a chain grocery store...neither of the 2 independent grocery stores near me had endamame. On to a major chain retailer this week.

Great - now I'm humming "Kansas City"... Pan fried or deep fried? I MUCH prefer pan fried - less fat too. But yes, it does seem that you may need some restriction...

I am delighted that this forum exists; congratulations to all for it's success, and a big THANKS to Alex for creating our own little world!

Congrats Georgia! yesterday walked 10 miles. today - worked on arms (20 min) then rode stationary bike (40 min)

I had another fill yesterday and I WILL make my goal. -
Well, like Canadagirl I can't tell you about roller-caosters. HATE 'EM! However flying I have done a fair bit of. It was my experience that on a long flight (4+ hours), I would be a little more tight the next day, but nothing serious - it didn't stop me from eating as usual. On short flights, no differences at all. And I've been doing a fair bit of flying too.

I walked 10 miles yesterday...that's the distance to and from my clinic from the train station. It was a BRISK walk as it is COLD...gloves and coat on!
-
WOW! Waht a fabulous transformation! You are looking SO good!
-
Ezma - It was NOT ice cream; that's the main thing. SK - Good for you! Consider yourself patted on the back. Denise - Men! Nothing else needs to be said!!! Theninside - twice a month is do-able. Keep at it! SM - Almost into the 150's- yeah!! And cookie free too. You are doing great!! Update from Clinic visit - 2 1/2 hour train ride to the city; 35 minute walk to the clinic. 20 minutes IN the clinic...then same thing in reverse. So basically, no slippage, no problems, the nurse added 0.25 cc but basically it is just my body is fighting losing the weight after decades of yo-yo dieting. Persistance is the key...or so the clinic says....

Me too...I'm usually up by 5 am, at the Y before 6. Cool here - I have my gloves on; DH scrapped the frost off the car this morning. WAY TOO much posting has gone on in the last 4 days for me to keep up! Loved your story Fanny; enjoy the experiences.

Hi Shiny Not many women I know are ever 'happy' to get their period! I understand what you are saying though, and yeah for you! This is a great thing. Port detachment - how much of a procedure is it to 'fix' the port? And is this something additional you/your insurance has to pay, or is it considered covered under the original cost? Did your doc explain how or why this would have happened? Running for 20 minutes - WOW!!! You should be sooooo proud! I've lurked on the Cto5K thread, but just haven't got the nerve/courage/support bra to see me even starting. Then again, this time last year I wouldn't see myself even joining the Y, so who knows. Congratulations!

So all of those that are young (recognizing it is a relative term)...stop looking! You have years for the economy to improve, and your investments to stabilize and prosper. You are torturing yourself! Those of you who are less young (such as myself living on the other side of life's equator [50]) - stop looking! It doesn't matter what is WAS worth; we are living in the 'what it IS worth' time, and it is painful. Very sad, and painful.

At the Y at 7 this morning. Worked with weights then did 45 minutes on the stationary bike...wobble wobble wobble legs now!
-
Yesterday B: oatmeal with berries S: apple L: chicken salad and an apple S: ff yogurt D: sliced chicken S: apple

My Saturday morning time at the Y will be wasted if I don't. And I hate to waste money and time! -
Yeah Jamie! Keep it up! How are you doing Ezma? Avoiding the demon ice cream? RSG - keep strong! Avoid the ice cream. Distract yourself with artwork if the spirit moves you. Melolo - Do not be led into Wally World. Save your money for a new wardrobe at goal weight, or a new pair of funky/spunky shoes for now. No candy aisles.
-
Crystal, I feel your pain! I was 6 weeks without budging, then I lost 1/2 pound, then week 8 another half pound, then week 9 - I jumped UP (the weight jumped, and then I did in sheer frustration!). Although I think my restriction is fine, I'm seeing the doc on monday - there is something just not right. I have been faithfully watching and journalling what I eat, doing my exercise, drinking my water, not eating slider foods, and still I am now heavier than I was 9 weeks ago.... Speaking of exercise, I went to the Y this morning and did 45 min on the cycle and worked out upper body.
-
SNT - Glad to hear things went well and you are up and moving without shoulder pain. Fanny - Yahoo and woot woot!! Saturday late morning - have done my Y time for the day; on my second pot of coffee while I plan what to do today...it isn't outside work though; there was frost last night, and it is a little chilly to be outside. Perhaps this afternoon it will warm up.

Sorry to hear that, Tara. In all the baking and cooking DH and I do (we both really enjoy it), we have never tried to make sushi. Perhaps I should give it a try and see how it comes out.

Ahhhh, Luluc. Now I want one or a dozen. No. no more animals. stop looking at the pictures. Ignore their teeny tiny faces and sweet chubby bodies. stop it. right now.
