Restriction is a Strange Strange Bird!
tapshoes replied to ItsGottaGo!'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My restriction comes and goes too...not associated with TOM or anything else either. Sometimes it is related to work stress, and I've discovered, my mood. -
I know what you mean Cool, every day every mood every time of day I have different favourites - but the things I don't like (particularly in movies) never change. And I have to say, I HATED Titanic...ship hits iceburg and sinks. As for The Notebook...it is more of an 'chick flic; why bother'; I have my own interpretation of how the ending went, and (unintentionally) made my SDs both angry and cry when I said it....

Had to laugh... I did a similar test many years ago only I was to do it over 2 days...they gave me a plastic gas can to use...and I almost filled it. I always have drank a LOT of Water...this has been the easiest part of the band life style for me!!

Thanks be...it is Friday. Whoo hoo!!!! I am sooooo sick of this work week.

GRRR - Don't you hate it when you type a message, and then you lose it in cyberspace? Anyways, I just wanted to say I enjoy your blog Tara. A point of interest, at one time in my varied career I managed a major hospital switchboard....I can attest that switchboards are everything you said, and MORE. Although I long ago moved on another career path, some of those people remain my friends more than 20 years later.

Thank Ezma...it's mutual admiration time...I think YOU are showing the greatest strength given your personal situation and our lap band struggles. I hope your husband is stablized (and ideally improving). RSG and Ezma - avoiding icecream? Melolo - How is your battle with the muskateers going? SM - Still cookie-free? You are so close to the 150's.... ThinnerDenise - saving some calories for the weekend?

I am getting some new movie titles from reading your posts...I'll add them to the list. I forgot 2 more recent movies that I really enjoyed: In Bruges (really is very funny if you appreciate british humor) and The Bucket List.

Congratulations! That is a fabulous achievement and you should be so proud of yourself.

Saw a good movie last night - A Righteous Kill. I was fully prepared to NOT like it (I'm not really fond of gratuitous violence etc), but it was not what I expected. I also watched Trans-siberia....don't bother getting it. And textbooks...well, Im in the process of editing one right now, and I would agree...people may be knowledgable about their topic, well-spoken, intelligent etc, but it does not mean that they can write. I can only do so much 'editing' as I am not the author. Have pity on editors if ever you meet them - you should see the drivel they receive as manuscripts!!! RSG - I'm not a big fan of Stephen King; I probably have read all of his works, but that's because I am a compulsive reader. One of the things I do with books...whenever I take a business trip, I buy a current paperback at the airport, and then when I am finished with it, I put a note in the front (This book started its journey in X city on X date...please keep it going) and leave it in the chair back. I often wonder where they end up.

Ah but Denise, that is EXACTLY my problem....I just cannot stop at 1 serving. I could (and have in the fat past) taken a huge bag of almonds (or cashews, or peanuts, or any nut) from costco, sat down and ate the entire bag. Hence my joining this thread - I committted to 1 serving only 1 time a week. So far MOST weeks it has been ok, but this week I slipped. But I am back on track...

It is indeed cold walking into work...particularly when your winter coat is packed in the cedar chest, and you are NOT tackling that project at 5 am! **Tap mutters to self...do the closet switcheroo tonight, you imbecile** Congrats Wheetsin. Lovely cup of hot coffee, and the email at work appears to be non-functional this morning so I have a reprieve from the endless stupid emails until tech support arrives....YAHOOO!
-
congrats RSG - That is a great achievement....now, on to the next one! Yeah Shinyhappy! You will soon break that 200 barrier!
-
Sadly, it didn't do that; afterwards I was "Why oh why can't I have you all the time?. It's that Ezma's fault!!!" Good for you for avoiding the fudge bar.

Whoo hoo! That is great, RSG! After a long struggle, it seems that the scale is your new best friend... I am so pleased for you!

How long after a fill do stay on liquid diet?
tapshoes replied to TheWatcher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
WOW - once again the variations are amazing! My clinic...rest of the day fluids, then normal eating the next day. -
For me, whether it is in the mirror, or in pictures (of course pictures of me are only a recent phenomenon) I still only see a fat me. Everyone else sees a person who was MIF (missing in fat) for a long time, but not me. I still see fat. My upper arms...egads, they are disgusting wingspans. I'm sure I could flap and fly! But there is nothing to be done (or will be done) about them. I consider them the constant reminder of why I need to stick with the bandster life. Maybe this will change when I get closer to goal, but at 8 months post banding, these are my thoughts.

Congratulations!! 50 pounds lost is fabulous, and doing a 5 k is equally great! Yeah, you!!! As for learning about PB'ing...well, it is a painful lesson (one which in my experience we have to learn more than once). You have a great attitude; keep it up!!

Happy birthday (in advance) Thinner! So, save a few calories during the week and enjoy your birthday. I don't suppose you, the kids and bf could SHARE a piece of the birthday cake?? I broke last night...I ate a serving of whole delicious crunchy tasty almonds. And you know, the guilt I felt afterwords I blame on Ezma - she started this thread!!!!! :grouphug: (You know I'm joking, right???) Anyway, back on track today...
