No one here is a loser! We started at different weights at different heights with different bone/body compositions. We have different sized bands, different restriction levels, different goals and certainly different lifestyles. All of these things mean we will lose weight at different speeds...the key is, we ARE losing! Celebrate your 35 pounds gone, SMS!!! Yay to all VV's!!!

It is easier for me if I tell myself that meat grows on trees!! I don't want to read, see, think, hear about the reality... I live in my own little happy world... Happy sunny Thursday.

On this my weigh-in day, I am a normal BMI! Me?? A NORMAL BMI?!?!? Yahoo!!!! Normal, it's been soooo long, I can't remember when I was last 'normal' - by any measure of anything!!!!! I'm so excited....................:rolleyes2:

As like the previous poster, I do major cooking on the weekend, parcel the stuff into indvidual servings, and then freeze them. In themroning, I can grab and go! For example: a triple batch of my fav lentil Soup (which I then freeze in individual baggies - takes less room in the freezer) and then pour into a bowl at work; make meatballs by the dozens and freeze them in small bags; the individual 1 0z cheese pieces go with everything; last weekend I made sheppards pie, meatloaf, salmon loaf, and did them all as single 'muffins'....no cutting them out and dishing it out issues either. I don't have veggie issues like some others - so during the summers when it was warm, I would make a huge salad without the dressing, then divide into little salad bags and take one every morning...i have acquired a stash of the individual little salad dressings and keep them in my desk drawer. Of course, my downfall - I USED to keep a big bag of almonds, or peanuts or something (in my desk), but they became an addiction so that's not done anymore! This could also be done with raisins.

It certainly was a (pleasant) shock to me!!

I'm usually good for a giggle - I'm entertainment!

ARGGHHHH!!! Is this national 'IQ=shoe size ask-a-question day' and no one told me??? If I answer one more STUPID question today, I am going to......burst a blood vessel! (*Tap types very firmly*) OK....I'm better now.

That's lovely! I too like the sound of trains - and that's a good thing as my house has tracks behind it!!

Lots of talent here on LBT! Newhope - your son is very talented. Minx - your cakes look too good to eat! RSG - I love the picture and to me it strikes the right mixture of celebration and death. The next quilt I finish, I will try to take a better pic and focus more on the hand quilting rather than the pattern as (to my mind) it really is the hand work that is the most interesting. Too bad I hadn't thought of that before I donated my last one! Now to go and read some of the poetry....

Obviously I cannot relate to having 'small' girls - I was first in my school to wear a bra, and it was a necessity, rather than a 'grown up' activity! Sagging and deflated though, I can relate to - when I lie down, the girls hide in my armpits!
-
ARGHHH!!! I caved...I consumed probably 1/2 cup of peanuts last night. I stopped shellling them and mindlessly shoving them in my mouth when I realized what I was doing - but by then, the pile of shells was a pile! I was so happy at (barely) getting to a normal BMI - I would bet I am not today. BUT I won't weigh myself, I will wait until next Monday and be extra vigilant this week in watching what I eat and exercise. I blame the election - I was plunked in front of the TV when this slip happened!

have you asked? Maybe it is planned, or maybe they haven't heard of it and just need a gently suggestion.

Happy Birthday to me & Welcome to onderland....
tapshoes replied to Blessed1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
happy Birthday, and congraulations! And yes, it is difficult sometimes to remember that the band is a tool, not a magic wand, and that you HAVE to do the work to make it succeed. But, it is so very worth it.... -
Hi Ezma, It sounds like there are some biochemistry things going on and I make no claim to understand them. I guess that's why I was never a successful dieter because I hate measuring or figuring out what foods are in or out...I love it all (well, except chocolate and sweets).... I wish you success on this journey. More importantly, I hope things are going well with your hubby.

Measuring myself was one of the best pieces of advice as I began this journey in February. The scales change during the day and clothing sizes are not standard between manufacturers, so I welcomed this suggestion to measure my changes. The day before surgery I measured myself in all ways - including the ones you listed, and a few more - and then once a month I remeasured. So even when I was on my plateau from he@@, and didn't lose weight for 6 weeks, I could see some changes. A small example...my bra band size has gone from a 44 to a 34...that's ten inches, and I'm not to goal yet!

Absolutely! I can also plug in my ipod, and have the music loud and can dance about when at the copier, and sing along (every performance needs a doo-wop girl backup vocalist). Alas, that fun comes to an end once the 'suits' arrive...which is funny, because I am management, but this group of coworkers is about as much fun as a toothache or political discussions on LBT!
