Hi Tara - I thought of you when I was shovelling heavy snow this morning...specifically, bet you wouldn't enjoy it if you had to shovel it!!
-
Thinner - make sure you don't leave the doc's office until you have an answer. It seems very peculiar, but maybe it is normal for a percentage of the band population. Take care.

Ah, shucks. Thanks RSG.

A properly fitted bra, that is! I started my LB adventure wearing a 44DD; 8 months later, I went for another fitting and I am........a 34E!!! Holy crappola - a 34E!!! I came home and put on a few of my recent purchases, and can't believe how different the clothes look, how different I look! Really and truly ladies, hoist your girls to a real bra shop for a proper fitting, and see how a properly fitted bra does WONDERS for your clothes!!! Even I, who thought I knew how to measure for a bra, was impressed with the difference between what I measured, and what a professional measured. If you are not in a proper fitted bra when you do your measuring, you will continue to be in an improperly fitted one. Treat yourself!

Hey Ezma, you are being too hard on yourself. You are coping with enormous stresses - a very ill hubby who is in hospital; working; family life; and trying to watch your food intake...it isn't a pity party you are having, it is a natural reaction. How I wish I could do something other than send my sincere heart-felt best wishes. Don't beat yourself over this; accept the time is difficult. Do the best you can, and remember the band will keep working even if you are distracted for a while.

DH and I both love to cook. When I was post-op, we had lots of Soups (just varying degrees of thickness through the different stages). We both made the soups the way we normally would and either I added Water and blended them more, or they were clear broths. That wasn't a problem for either of us. He would have the soup as an appetizer, for me it would be the meal. 9 months post-op we still both love to cook and do so. We do not run a separate kitchen or meal plan; it is normal living - what one cooks the other eats. -
Yesterday B: hard boiled egg L: bowl of lentil chili; ff yogurt S: 2 tbsp cream cheese on apple slices D: caesar salad, bowl of rigatoni with meat sauce S: popsicle

It's Saturday morning - yeah! I've got to hit the gym before the Santa Claus parade - I still cannot accept the parade before Dec 1, but alas I'm not ruler of the city. So, gotta get to the gym and home before they put up the street roadblocks and corral me!
-
And you should be proud, RSG. It seems like Marci could be a 'sober second thought' for you; have you recruited her to help you? Not as a parent/child thing, but rather as a partner who wants to support in any way possible including helping you avoid triggers?

This may be vain, but I've got to ask...

I think that my face is looking a little older (but then again, I'm in my 50s not my 20s). However, with the weightloss I am feeling better about myself, and (according to friends/coworkers) I am carrying myself better and dressing better and that makes me seem younger. So like Jachut, Im both older and younger! As for botox - nope, haven't considered it; could use it; won't do it. -
Glad to say I haven't met a food I can't eat! I may not choose to eat some, but I certainly CAN eat everything...
-
that's not the usual activity! :tongue2: That might be a whole other thread..

Do you mean Maxine?

And that RSG is why we each have to find the right message for our psyche. I am the opposite - I have to believe it is a lifestyle change, it is not a diet, or else I will just give in to eat nuts - all the time. OK VVs - we are heading into the weekend...the danger time for many of us. Let's be strong.

RSG - You have to do 2 days of liquids after a fill? Glad I don't have to! I did my day of liquids, and then resumed my normal (my new normal) eating and (with the exception of the peanut butter on apple incident) have been doing good. Isn't it amazing how insistent, insidious, and persistent that call of the refrigerator can be????
