Thats fabulous Sadie! And it is a journey I expect some of us will follow you on. Please keep us posted and expect to be inundated with questions. Congratulations on your weight loss and good luck on your surgerys!
-
Thanks Slim! I was not blessed with the opportunity to have children, so I am hoping that I can 'grandmother' to my hearts content!!
-
I'm sorry to hear that Ebony. I was really hoping that by the time I returned, you would have found THE job in which your talents are used and appreciated. Keep up the hunt, and document document document!
-
How is YOUR situation Ebony? When I left you were off for a few days, and rev'ing up the job hunt... I KNOW you are patient and positive and encouraging - that's just who you are!
-
You won't bore us...and as most of us are not in Australia, we love to see the variety of flora and fauna! Keep posting! Hi Glou! I would love to see the pics of the fried foods - I cannot imagine trying them! Your descriptions confirm that I won't ever try them! ICK and double ick!! I second that emotion...(are you singing it now?). I too am using every avoidance technique known - but I rationalize it as easing back into work! Over 400 emails...no one should have to face that! And sadly, very few were jokes - most were work related crap...bleck! Did I mention - my first (step)grandchild was born??? Whoo hoo! If I did, can you tell I am excited???

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

Hi VV's, I am back from my vacation/business trip. It wass great to see a lot of friends, but the constant eating and drinking was NOT so good. Combined with no exercise, I gained almost 5 pounds...........ARGHHH!! So, back to the basics today. Now to catch up... Of course you are still a VV. You are one of us; keep us posted on how things are going for you. Shiny - the cake looks amazing - YUMMMM!!! I agree with your assessment of CKK's situation - I would be terrified if I were bandless! Even just going on vacation WITH my band was a challenge; without my band, I am sure I would soon balloon - again! But, not everyone is as weak as I ma! WHOO HOO!!! YAY!!:wink3::w00t::frown: St Louis - 100 pound mark - it's a wonderful feeling! Thanks Jul. You WILL get there, I believe it, and so should you! Having your friend along with the journey probably will help. LilMiss - I am so sorry that you continue to have issues; you must do what you can to make certain you are not compromising your health. Prolonging problems just makes them worse, so make sure you see your doc and explain everrthing and that he/she DOES something. Of course, as I am so far behind in the postings, it is possible you have a later post telling me more. So, I guess I shall continue reading.... TS - I hope your personal sitation is resolved. The band absolutely reacts to stress, so that cannot help at all! Your weight loss to date is fabulous! You are absolutely right in your assessment Shiny - I too wonder if the band will be permanent for me. But, so far, other than the occassional need for adjustments, the band is fine - it is my eating that isn't! The proof was my vacation - I did no exercise, and just ate and ate and ate and drank. No Portion Control was necessary as it was constantly nibbling not big meals...constant eating somewhat fools my band. So, as of today, back to the basics... I hope your housing situation is resolved in a postive way! EXACTLY!! RSG - HI (Tap waves wildly)! It is so great to hear from you; please keep it up! I know you are probably in the midst of moving madness, but how excited you must be too! I am delighted to hear you have taken up photography - make sure to post some of them for us to see. You have so many talents! WOW Ezma, I can't imagine being a multiple property owner - so many things to go wrong, and knowing me, they would all be expensive things like roofs or foundations!!! How do you keep on top of the constant repairs, and collecting rent, etc? Oh yes, I can remember near the end of the liquid phase thinking that a few mouthfuls of cottage cheese would taste like heaven!! And it did! Don't start anticipating issues; it's a new band, so it is a new experience. I hope you are enjoying your time on vaation. Amy - I am so sorry that that IVI didn't work. I can't imagine the stress that you are feeling - band and fertility issues. I've had each stress but not at the same time. I became consumed with my fertility challenges at the time; I can't imagine trying to get throught that time with band issues as well! My thoughts are with you. Keep itup SLG. I hope you are indeed enjoying fall colors and the coolish temperatures! Ezma - you are certainly keeping busy...hope all things house related are going well! And don't worry over the cookie - just the occasional one is fine. It's when they become a meal that there is an issue (I know this from experience!!!) Hi Jul. I know the feeling well. It is like me with exercise. I know I should do it, I know why, I know I can do it...I just don't want to! I really need to find my motivation... Your words to Jul are spot on, Ezma! I needed to hear them too! As for your teenage son - I have no insights. Shiny - I hope the housing works out, and I hope your hubby gets the promotion!! OK - am I caught up???? -
Morning all! Heart - I used to do a lot of canning, preserving. Now, I don't do as much, but still manage to fill a few dozen bottles each fall. So far this year I've made the applesauce (in the marathon before I left), and am hoping that this coming weekend I may start making some other seasonal things. Ebony - A penguin 5K - that sounds like something that should be happening where I live...but good luck on it. Maybe my new years resolution for 2010 could be to try the couchto5k....but who am I kidding - I don't like to run! As for your weight loss - Goals are not absolutes - they are things we establish in advance and then reassess constantly. Just keep going until you decide 'that's it'. Fanny - your pics are fabulous. I agree with Heart - there is money in that talent you have. NEWS: My first step-grandchild was born! He came into the world late and by C-section. They live a few hours away, so we don't know when we will get in to see the boy, but I'm sure it will be soon.:frown::w00t: Time to get moving - work awaits - and after 2 weeks away, I'll have email up the ying-yang! Catch you later...
-
G4E - I am so sorry about your situation. I was away for a few weeks, and missed the updates. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Life is confusing enough without 2 PJTP threads; in which one should I post??? Today's update is in the other one...
-
I go away for 2 weeks, and everything changes! Thanks for the assorted messages. I has a wonderful holiday/business trip - but got ZIP, nada, rien, NO exercise at all. And ate alot and drank more...so much for the size 8's; back to the 10's for a while I think! It is amazing/annoying/depressing how quickly I can revert to an old unhealthy lifestyle.:smile: :wink2::w00t: That is FANTASTIC!!! Congratulations! Yahoo!!! I'm here sipping my coffee thinking that anyone who would want to run is beyond my comprehension! Ran 3 miles - unbelievable! That's just wonderful! The countdown to your PS is on, Fanny. You must be getting really excited! Well, it is yet another cool raining day here...I need to go outside and start putting away patio furniture etc before the snow comes, but I REALLY hate to do it. Today I just want to spend doing laundry and maybe doing some baking..it's beginning the hibernation season!!
-
I'm trying to imagine the applesauce with onions; for us, applesauce is a dessert, not a side dish for other food. BUT, I'm not so old that I can't learn new tricks! I'll give it a try when I come back - there will still be apples to pick! And Goose is adorable!! Uh-huh. Yep. That's it, for sure. Way to go, Ebony! That was fantastic, and your time was great! And you look so great! :w00t::thumbup: And what are the chances they will meet again (for anything other than a wedding???). Man, your mother is ...well, interesting, isn't she? Well, we had frost overnight, so a pool would have been one big ice-cube! I just can't stand to waste things and 1 bushel of apples makes a lot of apple pies come the winter! And YES,get thee to the doctor!!! OK folks. Time for me to get to the last of the packing and primping...see ya in a couple of weeks (unless I find an internet cafe and connect).:wub:
-
Morning everyone! (Well, it is almost afternoon...but still a.m.) Just got back from another apple-picking adventure - picked a bushel in about 10 minutes; DH and I each picked one, and we took our tenant along. She doesn't like apples (who doesn't like apples??) but she appreciated getting out into the 'country' (a mere 10 minutes away). She decided she liked picking the apples, just not eating them. So now while DH puts on a pot of coffee, I will catch up on LBT. Then, it will be a paring/coring, slicing marathon as I make more applesauce, bake a few things before I go on vacation/work, and prepare bags for the freezer for pies later in the year. So, Thanks Kat for the update on G4E...I will indeed keep her in my thoughts, and certainly extend our heartfelt wishes when you call her. Your family expedition sounded like fun. I need to replace the wood burning fireplace with a high efficiency one, but that will have to be sometime later. Ebony - good luck on the walk! And am glad DH is D again! Heartfire - Call first thing Monday morning - what you are going through is not healthy or safe. MissBandy - Welcome! And yes, this thread is now my fav part of the LBT experience...sometimes I even forget to go to the subject area threads! Pool-y- You just KNOW that Plain is going to comment on the dog's name - he cannot help himself! Sick - Thanks!!!
-
Good luck on your wog tomorrow! You are doing a great thing, AND benefitting yourself as well. Be careful and have some fun/bonding time with DD. Sad; so very sad. And I'm just sitting down getting ready to go to bed. I'm packed for my trip; another couple of quarts of applesauce made; a zillion loads of laundry are done (all the towels and facecloths from the eye experience - every time I used one, it went into the pile...tomorrow, perhaps I can rest? Thanks!:blushing::blushing: OMG - biked 37 miles??? You must have fabulous leg muscles as well as stamina. YAY to you!! You really ARE a university student!!!!:tt2:Guess you'll stay away from the liquor tonight so you can hit the books bright and early tomorrow, right?
-
Thanks ladies!

It is a real shock the first time you have to get everything; like the first time you set up a kitchen and realize that you need EVERYTHING from cutlery and pots and pans to salt and dishclothes!. Thanks!

I hope the belt/port location doesn't become an issue, but you're right, at this time it is all about having a band that is working! Oh Jul, I'm sorry you are struggling - and I know EXACTLY what you mean. Some days I just want to open the fridge, and cram absolutely everything into my mouth and eat it all with no restrictions, no issues and no guilt!! But I don't want to regain all the weight either... There is NO explanation for how the body works - I swear you can gain weight from looking at food, and bust your butt for 2 hours in exercise and lose 1 ounce!!! Good news on the house; hope any renovations are kept to a minimum...unless you are anticipating a major makeover! I was wondering that too. And where is Shiny? and RSG? and Lori? and Mum of 2? And angie? And Marathinner? and all the others???? Well, time to hit the mountain of laundry....and then pack as I will be gone for 2 weeks - taking a wee vacation too! Take care everyone. I will check in before I leave. -

Hey VVs....You may remember me saying how much I hate to shop...and I do. I was told on Friday that I have to present at a conference in another city, and that necessitated a new pair of dress pants. So, as there wasn't time to shop online, I had to go to the store today...ARGHH!! Anyway, I went into the store, and took an armful of clothes into the dreaded cubicle....AND..... for the first time since I was about oh maybe 9, I fit into a SINGLE DIGIT sized clothing!!!! I don't care that it was a somewhat stretchy fabric and a manufacturer known for clothes that are a little big, I fit into a size 8......WHOO-HOO!!! And because I was just so stunned, I left the dressing room (another first, I usually hide in them), walked out and asked a saleslady if I was reading the tag correctly!! And THEN, because I was on a roll, I bought another pair, different color AND 2 new shirts...those unfortunately will always necessitate double-digit sizes. I am just SOOO excited/stunned/delirious..... Imagine if I had been eating properly and keeping up with the exercise for the last 2 months...perhaps this is the incentive I need to keep my appetite in check until I get my fill next month. Happy dances, ladies, happy dances!! -
Thanks!!! Thanks Crzy - and welcome! Imagine, someonr put Lu and I in the same sentence! Wonderful - but misplaced. Im not a fit skinny minnie with killer arms - but I am a single-digit size! I can't believe it?? Can you tell? Congrats Glou!!! I'd cancel the interview for the other position. YAY Glou! Thanks Slim. Perhaps this is the incentive I need to help curb my appetite until my next fill! Um, I don't suppose it is fashionable to wear clothes with the tag outside, is it??

Thanks Slim! Good news/Bad news.... Good news - for the first time since I was about oh maybe 9, I fit into a SINGLE DIGIT sized clothing!!!! Bad news - there was frost last night. Flowers are wilted. Winter is soon coming.... BUT I FIT A SIZE 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS Would it be so wrong to only buy that manufacturers clothing for the rest of my life???
-
Morning Slim! Thanks! I too hope I find a pair the first store - I hope they are the first pair I pick up too! I can't help but wonder though what size they would have been had I not been eating like a shark since last month:angry:. I can tell I've gained weight - and now I will be away for 2 weeks, and my next fill isn't scheduled until mid_October....oh well.
-
I'm surprised you're feeling anything - I'd be numb! SMS - Hi!!! We've missed you! Plain is sure to appear...:thumbup: Morning all! Dh is off to go apple picking and I'm starting the mountain of laundry. I have to go buy a pair of dress pants - I tried on the ones from last fall and nope, too big! So, new ones it is. I hate shopping, and since I need them for Monday, on-line shopping won't do it...that means going into a store (ICK) on a Saturday (ARGHH!!) BBL!
-
Thank heavens...I thought everyone had disappeared. Nope, not Atlanta...pity. Going somewhere colder than here - and it is dropping to low 50's tonight. Eyes are fine - little tired, from staring at the computer screen all day, but otherwise fine. Doubling the does and the frequency of the antibiotic did the job lickety-split. Guess everyone else is having a fun filled social Friday night.
-
What?? No posting for 5 hours?? Where did everybody go?
-
OK - I've been advised I am presenting at a conference in a few weeks. Not a problem other than it would have been nice to know and plan in advance as it is about 1000 miles away. So, I am hurridly making travel plans and will likely be out of communication for a few weeks as I now will tack on some vacation. So, it is PJTP flurry for a few days, then I will be be off line....back in early October. Now, off to do the slide deck.............

The only thing it is doing is giving me time to get really irritated!!
