But not a Fun-Friday night as far as I can tell! It is 530 am and DH and I are getting ready to go shovelling...a storm every second day is forecast. Staff potluck yesterday - was so careful of not over-indulging ended up eating less than I usually do! Which then meant I was ravenous by supper, ate too fast and ended up PBing for a while. Hate that. Music - love it all (except rap). All genres, all decades - my hard drive has 15,000 songs, spare drives about another 20 or so. To me it is the voice and the tune not the performance. Hence a lot of more modern singers are thereby eliminated - they cannot sing - they just have good backup dancers or videos which are to me irrelevant.

That's not good. I have managed the transition of services from one hospital to another as one hospital was closed...a very difficult time for everyone. It is a good thing that most employees acted as the professionals they were, and truly did care about the smooth transition for patients and those staff who were going to be employed in the remaining hospital. But still a very trying time; some people just never got over it or could not accept that those of us managing the closure did not make the decisions to close the hospital. 2 decades later there is still (for a small percentage)unfounded resentment.

Of course, you can inject the fruit with alcohol, or soak the fruit in alcohol.....not that I would know about that at all. :huh2:

Call/email the company and express your concern. I have, and they ended up crediting my account with the difference.

Yesterday B: oatmeal L: oatmeal D: 4 bites of too-rare steak (why oh why can't DH remember that I only like beef if it is WELL done???) S: 3 oz cheese and 1/2 cup soy nuts

Well, I don't have a sweet tooth - in fact, I don't like sweet things at all. I just love to cook and bake. BUT, as DH does have an issue with over-indulging if the sweets are in sight, I need to remove them from temptation. (The fact that one of the freezers is almost completely filled with baked goods is immaterial - DH won't raid a freezer)

PJTP - Thank heavens it is Friday because this week had at least 3 Wednesdays in it! Took a look outside and now must go wake DH to go shovelling or we aren't going anywhere. And as I created 6 different sweets and a cheesecake for todays luncheon at work, I HAVE to go...

That sucks, Beth. I know all about it....I work where the boss has a daughter-in-law as one staff member and her god-child as the receptionist. The receptionist has yet to figure out how to transfer calls - after 3 years. Just add the article to your resume and take pride in it! See previous note: some of the chosen are related! However, I do like the 'dumber than a box of hair' similie. Consider it borrowed. Huggs BBK. Be strong, Be positive. Did I mention another 10 inches of snow are forecast for tonight and tomorrow, and another weather dump on Sunday? And that's just this weeks 'blessing'????:cursing:

My recent experience: most men sat out the fast dances so the women danced as groups...at one point there were over 50 of us.
-
Ditto, and ditto! How difficult is it to brush off all of your car including the roof so that those who drive behind are not blessed with the snow from their car too?

Last week I couriered one parcel for my young neice and nephew in another country and on the customs declaration had listed "Toys, games, stocking stuffers' - didn't specify each of the 50+ things. Everything is fine. Out of sight, out of mind. Got called by a customs official; please identify ALL the contents! ARGHH!! I couldn't remember; it was sent days before. DAMN! Im on the phone trying to remember them all: tennis balls, snow globe; magnetic puzzle; 4 magazines; stickers; ball of string; etc....got to about 25 items and couldn't remember any more. Customs: we will either open the parcel and unwrap everything or return the parcel.... I ended up pleading my case. Conclusion: well, I will document what you say, and let the supervisor decide. Three days later, according to the tracking number, the parcel is still in customs.... So, Christmas may or may not include a great parcel (which may or may not be wrapped) from fav Aunt.

That's the spirit!!!

As the other posters have said, lead by example. Do not suggest (however subtle you think you are) that she consider surgery.

10K runs...nope, just cannot imagine ever doing one. Kudo's to those of you who can and do. Y this morning for 30 minutes of leg work then 30 min of elliptical.

Countdown to your Bandiversary!

I will strive to lose 10 pounds in the next 9 weeks. This will be a REAL S_T_R_E_T_C_H as not only have I stopped losing, I started gaining.....and it is all my fault. I have no one or nothing to blame but myself. So maybe this is the time to make the commitment. Thanks LilMiss for starting the thread. Feel free to give me virtual kick-in-the-pants when I start to slide or mope. -
GRRRR!!!! (That's my envy talking, the other part of my brain [the nice part] says, isn't that great. How wonderful!)
-
Morning everyone. Not a lot of action here in the last 24 hours....is everyone busy celebrating, or engaged in fitness activities or maybe shovelling and shivering in the cold?
-
Ah yes, DH and I renovated our house last summer... actually, he did 90% of the renovations himself and I stayed out of the way. Even with that there were some 'interesting' moments! You have a pool? I REALLY want a pool. But other than I live where it would be snow-covered for a minumum of 5 months, and cold for another 2 or 3, it hardly seems worth it....except I REALLY want one.
-
Thanks Susan for the reminder of the spirit of the season.
-
WOW!!! That is fantastic! I imagine in another few pounds a shoe store is in your future?
-
Hi Val. I've not read about this before. I guess it makes sense that if your stomach loses weight than a band would need to be made smaller??? Have you posted this in the complications forum? I hope all goes well with you. Take care
