Who have you told about your surgery? Why?
tapshoes replied to irishgal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I told DH - someone had to drive me home from the clinic! Other than that, no one. No reason to tell anyone either. 'Tis no one's business. -
I fit into my "skinny" jeans this morning!

Congratulations! That's a great feeling that you will get to relive many more times! -
I hope you are back to posting Tara - we've missed you!

Ceredad, Make certain when the info is forwarded to the underwriters, it is is given to their medical consultant (most underwriters have them because medical knowledge is so very specialized). If it is given to an anonymous non-medical person, I doubt they will have any capacity to do anything about it. They need a physician to review, and understand the difference. Sadly, way too many insurance companies though are 'discriminating' about WLS and also about being obese. You just can't win!!

Countdown to your Bandiversary!

Rhapsody....what a trying time you have been having. I'm sorry for that; it is a downer when things don't go as smoothly as we hope. I gained weight this last moth - I can't say it was Christmas; I started in early Dec...I just got into a funk; Xmas celebrations just made it worse...or rather, my response to the celebrations just made it worse! Oh well, time to start anew! No new resolutions - just want to keep doing what I was doing from Feb to end of November: exercise a minimum of 4X/week; watch the food intake; drink Water. -
Ditto! Damn letter limit....

Yeah Luluc! 8 bajillion...or so it will likely seem! It IS freaky, isn't it?? Lots of good luck sent your way. WEirdness, just weirdness! Great on losing the weight. I was doing the pouch test (yesterday was day 5). Did ok until the long drive home, and started munching on the Cookies the ex-wife sent with us... I know EXACTLY what you mean! Yeah Ceradad!

Hi Nicole. You look fabulous!! COngratulations on your loss to date. And yes, closing in on a year with the band...WOW!!! We can do this VV's. We can and we will!

Did lots of visiting yesterday - brunch with one SD and her fiance; visit with :SIL/BIL; then to DH's ex-SD house; then to DH's other ex-SD house; then dinner with DH's ex; visit with other SD. Question:: does anyone else think it is weird that DH's ex has on her bedroom wall, the wedding photo of her and her ex's (she has been married and divorced twice)? Not family photos with her children (I'd understand that), but the wedding photos? DH says: female equivalent of notches on the bedpost.

Happy New Year!! 2009 is starting out great...emergency roof repair was done last night; roads are dry for todays 4 road trip to visit DHs daughters; no snow is forecast...yahoo!
-
Pretty - the first snowfall of the season, maybe. And only then if you are inside looking out. BUT when you have a roof with a HOLE in it, snow falling is not good.
-
Waiting, waiting, waiting....for roofers to come. Meanwhile, snow is falling.......

OK VV's, there has been a definite drop in the number of VV's checking in and posting. I am going to assume it is due to the Christmas/Hannukuh/Festivus/Holidays.... So, let's make a date to meet (virtually) back here in January. It is unlikely I will be checking in very often until then, but who knows. I may. So to all my fellow VV's - have a great holiday of whatever kind. Be good to yourselves and your families. Happy New Year too!:cool2::tt2::thumbup::wink2::eek::thumbup::w00t:

Fireplace yes, but the wood has to be cut and of course dried. More snow last night...so I guess I will spend NYE playing 'find a roof repair guy and the insurance adjuster'...fun times. Um, ewwww. You mean, the kind you cook with, right?:wink2: As much as I use and love dictionaries, I don't think this one will be my desktop reference...I think I will stay with the Oxford English Never heard of the show.

Alaskan pipeline and Eiffel Tower....it's too early in the morning to be reading these things!!! Good morning everyone, and to those on this side of the dateline, welcome to the last day of 2008!
-
I guess you can fire your catapults from buildings, and llamas are allowed above the ground floor. Are couches allowed on the lawn?
-
Well there goes my usual cross-border attire!

Reputable publishers are supposed to do fact checking for publications which are non-fiction. I guess that with the volumes of manuscripts someone was not as thorough as they should have been. Additionally, given that this man and his wife have been lying about this for YEARS, it might be difficult to track down the truth...after all their story was based on events of over 60 years ago. I blame the man and his wife for this fraud - not the publisher, nor any reviewers (including Oprah) Now, back to the regularly scheduled R&R...although I notice a distinct lack of Oprah supporters.

Update on the tree encounter: So the tree guys came, and removed the branch leaving it on the ground for us to deal with. DH and I spent 3 hours cutting, hauling, stacking, burning branches. Meanwhile, 6 hours later we are still waiting for the emergency roof repair to be done...it is now dark, and snow is falling...
-
I second that emotion... (You're singing the tune, aren't you?) Ditto. Same to you She! and of course to everyone on LBT.
-
Again, you would think that the publishing industry with their fact-checking teams would be even more diligent in verifying veracity given the previous scandal. And of course, let's not forget the author - a liar. It all started with him, and his co-conspirator wife who made a conscious decision to lie - repeatedly.
-
Not that I disagree with the subject, HOWEVER the fact-checking should have been done by the publisher! They are the ones who have the responsibility to ensure that any book is not plaguerized, or not true, etc. Once it is published, the reading audience should have some assurance that something that is supposed to be non-fiction, is. You may now resume your discussion of Oprah...

Ditto. Frequently the same ones that are allergic to laundry detergent and all soaps. I just had a mental image of these kids sliding out with big feet... Great new pics, Lil Miss! :tt1: Hey, nude beaches are for everyone regardless of age or weight or size! That's what I told myself and will continue to tell myself...although I hope by my next visit I am a size in single digits! Yeah you for the hiking....
