I hate it when people post just to post.....

Sleep...perchance to dream. Wish I could grab some shuteye, but since my work day just started, I guess that is out of the question. So up the caffeine intake....coffe it is
  2. AS yesterday was fill day, I had a protein shake for breakfast, and another just before going to bed.

Morning all. Good news - I got my long awaited, much needed fill. Bad news - from my last fill to yesterday (a period of 3 months) I gained 1 pound. ARGHHH!!! As I was told, I need to be more vigilant about coming in for fills....but I REALLY need to work on my self-control/head hunger.

    Was it something I said????

Glad to see you posting Peek. It is because I cannot trust myself alone that I come here; I need to have others rooting for me, helping me when I lapse, kicking me in the arse when needed. If I didn't have the LBT forum, I would truly be doing it completely on my own, and as I successfully fooled myself about my weight for decades, I would just continue to do so. Coming here and seeing everyone else (to quote Jachut) shutting their gob and shaking their ass helps me to get with it. I am hoping todays fill will be the 'push' I need; I waffled for several months about it, and then frankly finances didn't permit, but FINALLY I accepted I was worth the expense of the fill and realized I couldn't continue to lose (or stop gaining) weight without my band, so off to the big city it is for me today! Keep posting....

    Accountability

Hi Olgi....nice to see you posting. And resurrecting a thread that I was intentionally ignoring....now I can't! There are a number of us trying to get back on track. I FINALLY have my fill appointment tomorrow...I am long long long overdue for it, and have lots of hope that it will be the kick in the rear I need!! So, tomorrow when I get weighed at the clinic will be the moment of truth - it is the only scale I really believe to be continually maintained and callibrated properly. Then after that (and I expect a rather rude awakening), it is back to reporting in more faithfully.

    January 2009 Exercise Challenge

At the Y this frosty morning, and already noticing the peak number of new members showing up at 6am is decreasing,,,but I'm still there! anyway, lower body workout, then 30 min on the tm. Wanted to see how far I could run (having not done so before in my life)...ran at 4.5 mph and managed 1 mile, then had to slow to a fast walk for the rest of the time.

    Did you exercise today?

Did my leg workout with weights at the Y then onto the treadmill....I wanted to start off knowing how far I could run (at a steady pace). I managed to run just over a mile at 4.5 mph...the sweat was pouring off me, and my legs were burning. I then slowed the tm down and walked another mile. So, my plan is now that I know my starting capability, I will work to improve starting with duration first; first run longer, then run faster. I will check out the couch to 5 km site.

Not at all offended, She! I meant unsettlied as in 'there is so much sadness; so many people harboring such disturbed thoughts; sobering.' I cannot image being so distressed that I would take a job somewhere in the hopes I would be killed, for example. those poor souls.

Sorry to hear that LJM.... And yes, it was a slow posting weekend, and so far an uncharacteristically slow Monday...everyone suffering the January blahs? I absolutely am...thinking of taking a trip (that I can ill afford )to San Diego in February to visit relatives/thaw out.

    Ask Dr. Schulman...

What an informative thread! I am slowly coming to accept that PS is in my future - the weight really is gone (well, going) and it isn't a dream! I apologize if my questions are too..rudimentary. But I truly don't know the answers, so any direction would be helpful. How do I find a GOOD plastic surgeon? Just because one says he/she has done 'hundreds' doesn't mean that they have. Nor does it mean they were successful. I don't know anyone who has had PS, and sure as hell don't want people to know that I am considering it. How do you know that patient 'before and after' pics are of their patients? How do you know the photo's weren't retouched? How do you find out a surgeon's complication rate if the work is done in an office rather than a hospital? I know you can research through the different medical associations licensure and actions, but if technically there was nothing done 'wrong', doesn't mean that the work was good. Do I sound cynical/paranoid? I don't mean to, but really, if I am going to have elective surgery, I'd like to make every reasonable effort to ensure I am in the capable hands of a good surgeon, not someone who can make people feel better but is truly a hack in the OR.

nearly at goal and complete unfill.

Hi Nicole I am sorry to read of your 'glitch' in the journey...to be soooo close and then to be de-railed must be very demoralizing. Lots of hugs! Shiny gave excellent advice - you can't make the hunger magically go away, so it is best to increase the exercise, try to divert yourself when possible, eat more Protein packed, better foods, drink lots and lots of Water, and just survive it - one day at a time. How do you stretch the pouch on one side?
  18. Wouldn't that be great??????

I'm delighted to see you posting, CC. You expressed one of my fears...if I stop visiting LBT and stop posting, will I then stop doing what I have been doing? Just having someone to share the journey with is a great help to me. Blessed - most of us seemed to hit a rut sooemwhere along our journey; I'm hoping my fill this week kick starts me, or kicks me in the butt! It will soon be my bandiversary and although I won't be at goal, I will (I hope) be still progressing. Right now I am at a standstill (over Christmas I started going backwards:cursing:), so now I just need that 'nudge' to get me going.....

    Did you exercise today?

WOW! Everyone is doing wonderfully well! YAY team! Yesterday I shoveled. Again. Have I mentioned that I spend a lot of time shoeveling? ^##%^%^ snow!!! I shoveled for about 40 minutes, then said, that's it, no more. Today - at the Y and at the weights by 6. Worked biceps and chest muscles, then went on the TM - did 2 miles. LilMiss and Shiny - you two have inspired me to try running. although my 2 miles today were more like walking and speed walking:bored: But using LilMiss' logic: first get the distance, and then work at reducing the time. so, what's a good time for a 5k?

    January 2009 Exercise Challenge

Yesterday - shoveled. Again. 40 min or so of #@$$#@$#@@$# shoveling Today - Bicepps/Chest workout, then treadmill run/walk for 2 miles different inclines/speeds.
