OMG..I have lost 11 lbs since my fill the 12.23..Woohoo
tapshoes replied to BlessedTwice's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Are you PB'ing because you are too tight? Or because you are eating too fast? Too tight isn't good! -
At the clinic by 11, surgery by 12, discharged home 3ish. No driving for 48 hours. Had the surgery on a Friday, back to my office job on Monday. Was walking home (30 min walk) from work by the Tuesday (day 4) No heavy lifting (10 pounds) for a month.

How do you deal with your family?
tapshoes replied to cookiebaby's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told only DH, and only because someone had to be identified as an emergency contact and drive me the 3 hours home after the surgery! Telling anyone else never occured to me. It isn't because I couldn't or was embarrased, but rather, why would I? It is my body and my decision. And this is not only in relation to this surgery...I have had more surgeries than a lot of people and have been having parts fixed and/or removed since I was about 16....and once I left home at 18, I have not discussed my condition or treatments with assorted family. Come to think of it, DH doesn't even know about a lot of the surgeries I have had from the years before we met....I guess there are too many scars on my body to keep track of!!! -
Do you *REALLY* want to know what the band is like????
tapshoes replied to Weas123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great post...I will add my complaint....Now that I have been losing weight, it is not only clothes I need, but shoes. Yes, shoes. I can make minor adjustments on clothing, but I can't fix leather shoes. So now, I spend time shopping for and money on new shoes...and of course every new outfit needs new shoes, and new shoes frequently means new purses......:w00t: -

Whoo hoo!! That's great Bren. Here's hoping I wil have the same experience as I too waited a LONG time for my fill (and paid the price!). Things have been tight (but not too tight) since my fill last Wed, so I am hopeful that the weight will once again start to come off. -
Ahh Travel-Anna, now it makes sense! And yes, making lunches makes a difference. If I didn't do that, I'd be downstairs in the food court eating; and self-control is not my strength!! Anna - enjoy the beaches. I did my time at the Y this morning - chest/biceps workout with weights, then hit the tm for 30 min. I managed to 'run' for 10 minutes straight, and then intervals of 2 minute runs a few times. So, my initial 31 min to do 2 miles is now 28 min...an improvement! How is everyone else doing??

Morning everyone! Plain - nice to see you back posting. Fanny - great to see you back too! And with such momentous news! She - 2 computers broken? Bet you were popular with the help-desk! LJM - the time is coming near... Time to get DH out of bed. Catch you all later.
-
Yesterday was a grazin' day.... Banana; 2 ff yogurts; 6 tbsp peanut butter; handful of soy nuts. Today will be better..
-
LJM - how are you and the bean doing? Are you continuing to feel occasional contractions?
-
You might get them through weight loss...I went from a DD to a DDD/F.

OK - I popped back into the prostitution thread just for the entertainment value. Now I'm out. Honest. No more.

Should prostitution be legal?

Um....actually, Christians were NOT here first....did you not know there were first nations/natives/Indians/here?? -
Like Luluc, those around me have a nicer day when I have my coffee! As my doc has no restrictions against it, I have been having it since day 1 post-op. I always drink it black, don't use it as a substitute for food, try to limit the caffeine quotient by having decaf in the evenings, and don't count it in my water calculations.

Yesterday was a grazing day...bad, but somedays are like that. Over the course of the day: a banana; 3 containers ff yogurt; 2 cups of soy nuts; 6 tbsp peanut butter

Nope - I was a complete and total blob all weekend...housecleaning was as ambitious as I got, and I didn't even do all of that. I'm feeling tired and not quite right...I don't know how else to describe it. Not sick, not in pain, just not right. No excuse though, so today I WILL go back on the tm...just not this morning. Shiny - Congrats on the 5 mile run - that is FABULOUS!!! thanks for the T-Tapp link...it is amazing how just turning your arms can make a difference! I though was having a few challenges with keeping tucked and straight.

Yes Ezma, I'm sorta bear-like...size and hibernation, and DH might say when I'm hungry too!! Unlike you though, I am hungry at night...I might just try the strawberry idea Rhapsody suggested. Watch those eating habits, Ezma...heaving after you eat isn't good for you or the band...as you know. I know things are busy with you - back to work, hubby home, preparing to move into your new home, but remember take care of yourself first!

Mornin' all! Prostitution thread - I don't debate religion. Ever. Nor do I try to reason with those who want to 'discuss' it...usually it is proselytizing by any other name. So, why engage? This same reasoning applies to politics, hence my lack of participation in any political debate. Luluc - I would have been inclined to record the licence plate number, and then write an editor to the editor with your comments - particularly re:the thong. They trespassed, and so any publicity/consequences from that are deserved. Then again, I am a beeyatch. CC and Beth - sounds like a good time was had! Nothing wrong with that. Contemplating taking today off...don't feel great, but hate to give in to weakness....I'll see how I feel a cup of coffee from now.

My fellow VV's ... somewhere along this journey we started to lose members. There are still some of us around and posting, but others have been swallowed up into a great abyss. For those that are posting - keep doing so. I'll miss you too, it you also disappear. Where are my fellow VV's? Post, send me an PM, send smoke signals...something!!!

Hi Michele The body issue is one I can relate to. Those people close to me say they can see how different I look, how much weight I have lost etc. But I don't. Seriously, I do NOT see a difference. I recently got a really wild funky haircut with wild highlights and thought that the jolt of seeing that would force me to see a 'new' me....it hasnt. I look in the mirror and see me - no different, and yet I have lost weight, my body measurements are different, etc. I don't know what is the matter with me. I cannot relate to the not hungry; my issue was for months I was always hungry and trying to force myself to use only my discipline to stop mowing down everything in my path. That didn't work! I need the band to work with me, and this last fill is so far helping....but I know it is still up to me. You ae correct - eating too little in fact slows down the metabolism, and stops the weight loss. Have you tried supplementing your diet with Protein shakes and cheeses to ensure you get in the calories you need? We know that isn't the ideal solution, but you have to get in the calories, and if you don't have the appetite, then you don't stand much of consuming them. Keep posting Michelle; that's what this group is for - to help, or Celebrate or commiserate with each other.

Snicker.

Well, there WERE 4 cans of coffee but the rest was food stuffs and toiletries...honest! Moi? Smart ass??? Perish the thought. Snort. NOt me, I would get so many books read.... I just threw out about 25$ worth of baking stuff...I always try new recipes. Today I tried one that was not at all successful, so bake to the kitchen I go.
-
This would need to be tested. So, try it today. Then drink too much tonight, but don't drink wine tomorrow am. Compare the results. That sounds like a plan. YAY!! Congrats! How is it that after buying groceries last night, for the first 2 new dessert recipes I want to try today I don't have the ingredients?? GRRR
