5th wedding??? Is her name Elizabeth Taylor? Or have her previous husbands met somewhat untimely deaths? Or is she marrying the same man over and over again? Ohhhh, probably. Ditto And that's how it is supposed to be...tired but happy. Exactly!! PJTP - a sunny monday, only 5 work days until I am California bound - and as long as the temperature is above freezing, I'll be in my glory - wearing shorts and a T-shirt! Which reminds me, I suppose the ones I packed away last Sept will somehow miraculously have shrunk to fit..

One surgery down. Glad it went ok, but I can imagine the boredom. Sadly my life is not too entertaining - even for me! I live vicariously through all of you. Exactly if he had been employed and lost his job - totally different (and sadly become way too common), or if he was going to school. But no, he is just a lazy drug dealin' slob. And yes, I'm liking Tippy-tap... Glad to hear you are all coming around... There's a lot of that going around; was it 'bosses turn on staff' week and no one told me?!? PJTP - As much as I love company, an aunt who you havent seen in a few years calling from the train station to announce her 'surprise' visit is a little ... presumptious. Oh well, she's here, and we are having a good visit even though I felt badly that I didn't have the room prepared or her special foods bought (I keep a little book outlining everyone's food preferences). She's here only for a few days, and she was a great aunt to me, so this is a very small repayment on the debt of family loyalty and support.

I managed to get in a 30 min really brisk walk...on icy snow covered narrow sidewalks that are identifiable only by the footprints of everyone else who has trudged through. Come on spring - melt this freakin snow!!!

I just don't think I can do this.

RSG - now I'm crying! Such a warm heartfelt post. Your sincerity is obvious, as is your pain. You are special to me as well! Congratulations on getting your fill appointment - that's an important step. It is what you need; you are taking control of your body. Don't let the Dr intimidate or berate you or make you feel bad. You are there for his/her help - not judgment! the past is over, you are taking charge! Get the fill! Keep on exercising - it is so good for you, not only your physical well being but also your mental health! If you can do a little more than the previous week, do it. If you can add in one extra walk a week, then do it. If you can take one more flight of stairs, or park just 100 feet further away at work/mall or just anything do it! I'm sure the dog would love an extra walk or two. Don't set yourself up to fail by saying I will do lots of everything every day - just commit to doing a little more at least once a week. Make that your starting point. I know you are an artist by inclination and talent...can you use the passion/emotion you are feeling now to create rather than hide or eat? Use your talent (of which I am soooo envious) and get your emotions out...and maybe it will also act as a deterrent. Don't compare your progress to anyone. You are you - unique. Special. One of a kind. Your journey to a better you will be too! Keep posting. We are here for you. You CAN do it. We all CAN do it. -
Not liking foods after eating them
tapshoes replied to SanDiegoPhotog's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know EXACTLY what you mean! I used to really enjoy a wide variety of foods, and now although I don't have any problems eating them, some foods just don't have the same appeal anymore. Steak for example. Weird. -
What a fabulous achievement! And keep shopping at THAT store!! I join the line of women who will never wear a size 6 (I NEVER wore it in my youth, so why think it'll happen when Im in my 50's), but 10's are possible. That's my goal - size 10's and a top that isn't a large or bigger!
-
She is absolutely gorgeous!!!
-
I'm working on the name I will deem acceptable - and gammy isn't it! I was thinking of stepmom-the sequel. Or Aunt tippy-tap. It's only a few years ago we gave up considering adoption; it's too big a leap for me to be anybody's granny!

(((HUGS)))):cryin::thumbup: I am so sorry RSG. Please don't give up! See the dr, and get a fill, and keep up the effort. Now is the time to keep posting here, let us try to help. You are NOT a failure. Not in this, not at all! You have lost weight - maybe not what you wanted to, but you HAVE lost weight. This is NOT a race. This is not a contest - against anyone or anything including scales and especially your expectations. Think of what you have achieved: You have LOST weight; you ARE exercising (which is so good for you regardless of weight loss or not); you have knowledge on what you need to do, and insight into what your particular challenges are; you have a team behind you....that's right, you have the VV's. Please, don't give up. Rant, rave, scream, weep, but don't give up. Get a fill, and keep on trying. You CAN do it. -
That's fabulous Shiny!!!! Congratulations!

We can only hope! DH is very upset; we had all held out hope that when she got this new good job, she would meet some new people and realize what a complete using rude selfish pig of a male her boyfriend was, and ditch him. Instead, she intentionally gets pregnant and now wants the whole package - house, and kids, and marriage. And she is not 16 year old kid - she is 25 and smarter than this! (or so we thought). Oh well, I am only the soon-to-be granny - which oddly enough is NOT filling me with joy either! Me - a granny!!

ARGHHH! This is my third time posting a response!!!! This time it will be short and sweet.... SHM - Keep us posted on your hip, and the books! I'm for painless everything! You are almost to onderland - it is so close I bet you can almost taste it!! Rhapsody - Try not to worry too much in advance. I know, that's easy to say, but try! Keep on the tm and with each step say "Spring is coming, spring is coming"...that's what I do!! I did 30 min training with weights this morning, and then 30 min on the tm. Out of town company arrived last night so I don't know about exercise this weekend, but I'll see. Our last fills seem to be doing the trick - I can't believe how I am NOT hungry or grazing now...although I would love to be able to eat before exercise, but my band says NO> No food until 930 or so. Keep up the good work, and everyone keep on posting!

There is no need to apologize - we're here to help you celebrate! YAY you!!!! Any details you want to share? That's really unfortunate about the virus situation. And my mind frequently talks to me too...and then I start answering, and soon a fight breaks out! Thank goodness this week is almost over! My DSD phoned her father to proudly announce she is pregnant...there was not a great hurrah and joyous celebration on the other side of the phone! Thankfully DH didn't say any of the things he was thinking, just said "It will be a big change in your life, and there is no experience like it. Congratulations, and take care of yourself". Her circumstances are not good, no one likes the boyfriend - drug dealing, drug using pondscum in my UNSPOKEN opinion - she finally just got a good job (which is a challenge in this economy) and is babbling on about how she planned this. Her boyfriend does not work (at least at any legal occupation), he lives off of her, they have no savings (but they did spend the money to buy a home theatre system for the 1 bedroom, shared bath apartment they live in), and she thinks that her employer will give her a maternity leave starting about 3 months before the baby is due and for a year after! Reality will (unfortunately) bite! In the meantime I just have to add a few baby knitting, sewing, cross-stitching projects to my list of things to-do.

Hi everyone! On behalf of the February Victorious Valentines of 2008, welcome to LBT and your new life. You will be excited:w00t:, happy:thumbup:, frustrated:cursing:, and annoyed :thumbdown:and even hungry :crying:at different times...that's normal! I hope you find coming and 'talking' with others who are going through the same things at the same time beneficial. You will find that some posters stop dropping by - that's normal to. For those who keep posting, remember at some point we all need someone to give us a kick in the pants, or to offer words of wisdom or to help Celebrate our successes...try to be that someone for someone else. It has been my experience that using the forum can help - just remember, it is a board of opinions NOT medical advice. Read and evaluate, but remember to follow YOUR doctor's orders...they will NOT be the same as everyone else's. That's because you are not the same as the next person! Most of all - the band is a tool NOT a magical device. YOU have to do your part. YOU have to follow the rules. YOU have to chew chew chew, include exercise in your life, watch your food intake. It is up to YOU. Good luck on your journey, and feel free to jump into the Feb 2008 thread to see how we are doing - lurk or participate- whatever you are comfortable with. Here's to a thinner future and your decision!

That's great Donna, thanks for the update

SHM, LilMiss,Rhapsody, Ezma - how are you doing? I was at the Y this morning - did 40 min cycling. Didn't work up the same sweat as when on the tm but it is still better than nothing, and I feel it in my legs.

Cruise by PJTP: You know it is going to be a bad meeting when: the person convening the meeting can't remember what the meeting is about; when the people in attendance don't have any of the background material; and when management directs someone (moi) to attend the meeting with no history or knowledge of the topic because no one knows what the committee is doing and they want me to 'take control of it'. Yes indeed, a good meeting.........:cursing:

Or...it just means that they have yet to be 'corrupted', and that given time they too will become like the others.
-
To shave your toes?

I doubt those words will ever fall from my lips!! A year of fitness and it is still a struggle...I don't HATE it, I'd just much rather read a book, or do some crafts, or clean. At the Y this morning I did 40 min of weight/strength training focusing on chest and shoulders, then the tm.
