    Let's Talk Movie Review

From your list, and using my 1 - 5 rating scale: Citizen Kane - 5 Giant - 5 Shawshank - 4 Midnight Cowboy - 4 China Syndrome - 3 Rosemary's Baby - 2 Haven't seen Glengarry nor torch song. I'd be hard-pressed to list my 10 favorites - unless it was by genre. That sounds like it could be fun! Of course, the more movies I watch, the more they may change!

    Mind your own Business???HELP

My response said with a smile has been (and will continue to be): Why would you ask such a personal question? I have yet to have anyone come back after that.

    Accountability

OK VVs...what's been happening with each of YOUR particular addictions? On holidays I was very very good...I think I had maybe 2 oz of nuts on 3 or 4 occasions - and 2 of those were part of my lunch while in assorted airports. BTW - finding bandfriendly, healthy and reasonably priced food when stuck in an airport can be a challenge!! My band was MOSTLY my friend over the business trip and holiday. I do hate that not only am I a slow loser, I am also a slow LEARNER - I have to relearn the 'day after flight' lesson every single time. The first day after each flight was difficult - and although many report no problems with flying and band tightness, my experiences (repeated several times) are different. A longer flight = tightness for a day or so. But overall, no particular problems. As my sister is a health-nut, small portions, healthy food, lots of water, and lots of exercise was easy to do. She and her family live that way, and therefore made my challenges few and far between. So, how is everyone else doing?

    Morning tightness

I have always been a 'coffee first' person...I just gotta have that cup of java before anything else. This is one habit that has served me well as a bandster. So, I am up and have my coffee before I hit the Y. Then once I get to work, I have my breakfast - I'm hungry, and ready to eat. I tried to eat BEFORE I did my workout, but I was too uncomfortable. I keep my Water with me while doing the workout which helps both keep my hydrated, and addresses the desire to have something in my stomach. Maybe that's why thick oatmeal is not a problem for me to eat - I'm not trying to eat it until about 2 hours after I get up, have had my multiple cups of coffee, and my band is not tight.

You are just SOOOOO competitive...I'm sure losing to me is disheartening. But think of it as 'building character' not losing!

I hate it when people post just to post.....

I was SOOOO tempted, but I refrained. It was prevalent - salespeople; servers in restaurants; airline personnel; even people whom I would thank for holding open a door...everyone responded with 'uh-huh'. My sister (who is no longer shocked/dismayed by this as she lives it every day) commented that perhaps no one knows how to respond to thanks as they hear it so infrequently! I am comforted to know that I am not an anachronism...it isn't just me!!!

    A little vent ~

Ladies - it is our health we are talking about! Our well-being! Whether about the band or another body part, you don't mess around with it. You HAVE to be able to talk with your doc. Never ever ever let your discomfort with a physician/careprovider stop you.. if you need to get another doc, do it! Don't mess with your health...this is your body and your life! If you don't like your doc, get another. OK - lecture over. It is just I have seen/learned of too many instances where someone didn't go to the doctor because they were embarassed or afraid or just didn't like him/her, and paid the consequences...negatively and big-time!

    Why such negativity ?!?!?!?!

It is unfortunate that anyone experiences negativity; I haven't experienced it myself, but I don't dispute that others may have. There are times when perhaps some posts are meant to be read as sarcastic - but as they are typed words only, the recipient can't see the body language or hear the tone of the person typing it. And of course, not everyone appreciates sarcasm and may perceive it negatively. Sometimes what someone may take as negativity is meant as 'tough love'; yes, we all struggle and have our 'moments', but sometimes a veteran poster may just get frustrated if they see someone setting themselves up for disappointment by not fully understanding and following healthy/safe/dr instructions, etc....they are human too! And then again, as there is such a mixture of people on this site, that just like in the real world, some people are just not nice. Why? no one knows, but they are. Cliques? I think if you join one particular group, over time you get to know these people and this may seem cliquish. I know that once I started posting regularly on the forum for bandsters done the same time as myself, many of us have gotten to know each other quite well, and have become friends. But I think/hope we are welcoming to anyone else who enters the forum. so, bottom line (and I do tend to ramble on, don't I?), just like in the world outside of LBT, there are lots of reasons for negativity: unintentional; frustration; mis-interpretation; someone posting without taking the time to think about it; and just some people's nature. Ignore those that are hurtful, and just keep your goal in mind. There are some wonderful people at LBT, and I hope you encounter more of them. Good luck on your journey.

    Did you exercise today?

Yoo hoo...my fellow VV's. I may do a roll-call... At the Y extra early this morning and did my upper body weight training, and then 30 min on the bicycle. Although I was active when on holidays, it wasn't the same...and my body knows it, too. Oh well, it is back to the routine now. Have a great weekend everyone; try to do something physical...

Yes indeed, etiquette lessons...the proper way to sit, pass a tray, ask a woman to dance, serve a drink, how to make small talk, etc .And on the dance floor, the chaperones were giving reminders eg. gentlemen, your partner is a lady; this is a dance not a demolition derby. Your objective is to AVOID obstacles (such as other couples) and dance her around the entire floor without hitting anyone. Ladies, this is not a mud wrestling pit, nor a fight to death. The man leads. You follow. Question: when did uh-huh become the accepted response to 'thank you'? Is this a California thing, or has it infiltrated other regions, but is slow to move north? It is very disconcerting, and unappealing...for each and every time I said 'thank you' to a salesperson, or anyone, the inevitable response was NOT 'You're welcome" or 'My pleasure" or 'No problem'...it was uh-huh. Yet another image of Plain burned into my retina...with pigtails, skirt, decolletage exposing shirt...out, out I say!!! Good morning all - above freezing again today, AND a Friday - can it get any better???

Last nights movie: Shooter (1997?) - glad I didn't pay money to see it; got my baskets of laundry folded, and ironing done while 'watching' it. On a scale of 1(horrid) to 5 (magnificent) it would be a 2

My closet was bare - even DH commented that I needed some clothes 'cause he was sick of seeing me in the same 2 suits for work...particularly as they were so ill-fitting and sloppy looking. My co-workers have commented each morning this week - "oh a new top/skirt/suit" - methinks they were getting sick of my clothes too!

I went shopping in california.........serious shopping...and I hate hate hate shopping! So, I stayed in the dressing room of at least 18 gazillion stores, while my sister brought me outfit after outfit after suit after suit. Once we both got over the shock of the size I am able to wear, she had fun. Me, not so much...put this on, take it off, put this on, take it off, model this, put the other top on with that skirt, etc. I burned serious calories doing that dressing/undressing, I'm sure. Anyway, my closet no longer resembles Mother Hubbard's cupboards - there are clothes in it! (and shoes, and purses, and a new spring coat...)

    Did you exercise today?

YAY Shiny! (And BTW, I like the pic at the bottom of your signature). I missed my exercise routine today; between the time change and general reluctance to get out of bed when it is chilly, I just didn't make it. I HOPE I can motivate myself to do the TM tonight........ So where are our other regulars???
