Should I be mad at my husband for looking at dirty pictures?
tapshoes replied to Carrie_C's topic in The Gals' Room
Ditto. You do what you feel is right. -
I would complain of a recurring back problem requiring several treatments a day!:tongue2:

Calling the Victorious Valentines
tapshoes replied to ReadySteadyGo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Life? Let's see... Band - weight seems to have stabilized again; contemplating another fill, but as it was only 1 month ago I had to be slightly de-filled I don't want to screw around with it. But if my appetite doesn't abate soon, then it is likely a fill is in my near future. Work - always on the hunt for another job (I'm easily bored and always want a new challenge). Have a few interviews this month - one for position that would require moving 1500 miles from here (and slightly north:scared2:), another I could work from home 50% of the time, with lots of travel for the other 50%. Both positions seem interesting, but until I have interviews I won't really have details. Home - anxiously awaiting spring; I hate being cooped up! Watching lots of movies, reading lots. Just the usual, no real excitement...which is sometimes good, sometimes bad! Family - everyone is ok; cats are fine too. Car - time for a new one! Can't really afford it. My trusty car has given 10 years of dependable service, but is starting to have those issues that mean the end is coming....do I wait, or do I replace now? There, how's that? or is this WAYYYYYY TMI? -
Did my upper body workout followed by 30 min on the elliptical this morning. I will be glad when it is nice weather because then I can start walking home from work in the evenings, or walking to the Y. Still way too cold and blustery for that!

I'm going to make myself accountable here.

Well LilMiss, Nothing like a personal challenge to motivate not only yourself, but others as well. And, never fear, if you REALLY want someone to kick your butt.... I commend your intent to do exercise 2X/day 6 days/week. This is something I could never do, but wish I could. I will stick with a minimum of 4 days/week as my goal, and everything above that is bonus! So, I will wait to see your posting for today....... -
last nights movie was Honeydripper - 3 on my 1-5 rating.

While you are all lazing about, I am polishing the shine on my winner's trophy....

You are SOOOOOO lucky! Wonder how I can get DH to that mindset! Maybe!! Yes. Morning everyone. Im sitting at my desk looking at the pile of work to be done, and believe I shall perfect the Avoidance 101 technique........

Nope. The men I know have another answer to all questions...and sadly, it isn't sex. Alcohol is the response of choice.

Absolutely Kat! That's what makes it entertaining! DH and I usually agree, but when we disagree, it's worthy of discussion for at least 2 or three nights! For example, he hates Betty Davis - now really, how can anyone hate her acting abilities???!!! I on the other hand could happily live the rest of my life without watching any kind of western...they aren't movies, they're cartoons! For some reason, DH doesn't agree! For the record - There will be blood was a 2 for us. Couldn't get what the hype/buzz was all about, but as something to watch while painting your toenails, or doing sewing, or instead of scrubbing the toilet, it was ok.

A flat ginger ale, right? No carbonation?

Where are all the movie buffs? Since Saturday (using my 1-5 rating scale): Possessed (old B&W) - 3 (pretty daring for its time; chick flick) Thick as Thieves - 2 (are there any new movie ideas any more?) What just happened? - 1.5 (expected more from Mr. Deniro) Grand Hotel (Old B&W) - 4 The Ghost and Mrs Muir (another moldie oldie) - 2 the hand that Rocks the Cradle - 2

With wine as the end result?

Interesting question, RSG. I cannot abide the smell, taste, texture of chocolate. That's why I can bake alot and not (usually) care to taste test, as most desserts involve choc of some sort. Let's see, what else: cooked spinach by itself (cooked in a lasagna or something is ok, but on the plate by itself its like green slime); oysters; internal organs (brain, liver, heart, gizzards, etc); milk (I love milk products - ice cream, yogurt, cheese etc, but just plain milk - ick! Even on my cereal, I put yogurt on it, not milk). I have a snack pac of baby carrots for lunch...sorry RSG!

I have excellent teacher memories - it was only when I hit university that my respect/admiration and rapport with teachers nose-dived. Umm...I don't know what Jesus looks like - AND before I am deluged, please I don't NEED to know!. Once I re-read my post, I said, I wonder if Plain will read into this...then said, nah, he's not around much anymore, and no one else would think like him! Not the salt; it was heavy night air that settled in your lungs. Deep breathing will resolve it.

Teachers had a lot more authority in the 'old' days...I remember one of the most feared teachers in grade school used to grab your finger and repeatedly bang it into the desk or blackboard if you made an error, while all the while yelling at you. Many a student had bruised (or worse) fingers. Slim: I was staring mindlessly at the floor while having my first coffee and noticed it. Usually I am doing things and not standing still; I guess that will teach me to not stop or else I will discover more things I have to fix/paint/repair.... If you gave MIL a can opener, maybe it would mean she would eat at home. Now she can whine that she has food but can't open it.... Donna: I am always looking at other opportunities; I am easily bored and never completely satisfied for very long in any one position, and besides, you just never know when something wildly exciting may pop up!

Welcome blklab70 (and I assume that stands for black lab? My last dog was one, and even years later I still miss him). Anyways, welcome, and as Shiny says, do what you can, start small and increase slowly. Went swimming today - not the same as outdoors in a heated salt Water Olympic size pool in the sunshine of California, but I did it anyway! Where are my VV posters? Shiny? Rhap? LilMiss? RSG? Come on guys, I hate talking to myself!
-
mmmmm - cashews!!!! Stop it now, Shiny....don't let the taste of cashews draw you into the abyss of a nut addiction! I was much better yesterday - although there was still cake left, it didn't tempt me. So, my calorie intake was a little more normal (but probably still mre than it should have been given I had 2 servings of granola). Why does food taste good? If food tasted horrible, living a bandster lifestyle would be easier!

Thunderstorms are great - I love 'em! Tornados - well, never experienced one (other than vicariously through Dorothy:wink2:), and can't say that I would like to experience one, either! Spring here is cold and wet, and then the surprise of a really nice warm sunny day that brings you hope! Crocuses in bloom; daffys and tulips pushing through the ground, and grass turning from yellow/brown to green. But a lot of snow has to melt first....and with it some flooding, and icy roads...
-
Not really...I've been up since 430.

random post....just noticed one of the many stains on my hardwood floor (floor is 60+ years old) is shaped like an owl...really!

Good afternoon! Cover your eyes - the sun's reflection off my winner's trophy can be blinding!

Thanks Ebony. Neither is the 'dream' job - you know, the one in which they pay you an obscene amount of money to do whatever you want with no staff, no responsibilities, no established work times, and no interactions with stupid/annoying people.... I'm almost at the point where I will soon be coming down the other side of the world!!!!:crying: Good luck on the fill - and tell me, how expensive is an attitude adjustment? There's a mess of people I would willingly pay for to have one! Can I watch? Can I, huh huh?

Should I be mad at my husband for looking at dirty pictures?
tapshoes replied to Carrie_C's topic in The Gals' Room
You have every reason to be upset. You have talked about this before with him; he said he wouldn't do it; he did. In my opinion, he cannot be trusted. If he cannot be true to his word in this, what good is his word? People are either honest or they are not. If he said he wouldn't do something, and yet he does (repeatedly too), then he is dishonest, and cannot be trusted. Can you be in a relationship with someone you cannot trust?
