No need for you to feel silly, I didn't express myself clearly. Bad Tap. Bad Bad Bad. Think I may give Natural Born Killers a pass; I even fast forward through a lot of otherwise good movies if I believe there is too much gratuitous violence.

yay you! Nope, there is nothing wrong is enjoying your time for yourself. There will be tough lonely times ahead; you will find though that you appreciate more and more those times you are able to be alone with your thoughts. As for the actions of the man, he had NO right to snoop, let alone question you. You are a better person than I am in that you gave a civil explanation! I would have told him that my personal life was NOT his business and then terminated that discussion! No explanations, no discussion, nothing. Wise words from Ebony... Absolutely!

your sister who you haven't seen in a year, greets you at the airport with a hug and a whispered "oh no, are you sick" -
Cardio Exercise Equipment, Cardio Wave - Technogym It is a real sweat-inducer...and leaves me with wobbly legs!

As long as you didn't start to grow hair on your back or your knuckles...

Well Manatee, we can agree on the slasher/torture flicks at least! (Liked Memento huh...?)

Nuts nuts nuts...have always been, and will continue to be a MAJOR contributor to my weight - love 'em. Have downed entire Costco sized bags of nuts in one sitting (in my fat past). About June of last year I made the commitment to once a week one serving...It's been a challenge, sometimes a losing battle. But I'm better (with my occasional lapses of strength and determination). But still, anytime I am munchie, or craving a food, it is nuts that call my name.... Um, spinach can come in a can?? I've never seen that; and would probably gag if I did! I'm a farmer's daughter -veggies are fresh, or stored if possible (root veg in particular), or at the very last resort frozen. But in a can? (Exception: canned tomatoes if I have used up all the ones I jarred the previous fall). oysters, mussels - you have to TRY new foods before you discount them entirely. I must admit though, for both of those, I had to close my eyes to eat them - the look was disgusting!

Oh SLG, how disappointing! Here I was thinking everything was okey-dokey, and now they say you have a prolapse? Something doesn't sound quite right, but then again, I'm not a Doc, so what do I know? I've had 2 slight unfills, but I've never had to fast before hand...doctrs rules certainly are variable, aren't they? Good luck on Monday and keep us posted.

Excellent work LilMiss! Keep up the attitude! Pre:band I chewed gum, but since then, only did it once, and never again...I'm a swallower, and that was NOT a good day! :scared2:Had the same reaction with gummie Vitamins (DH bought them thinking they would be a 'fun' way to ensure we both got our Vitamins)...um, nope, same reaction. Lesson learned, move on..... coffee - absoutely a necessity for me. Nuts........oh no, nuts.....I hear them calling me...Here tippy-tap, come on, one little nut won't hurt you......:drool: -
No no Glou, not Memento 2, Memento which DH and I gave a rating of 2 (that is, glad I didn't pay money to see it, not bad if you are ironing, washing walls, etc)

Carrots have a weird taste??? hmmm..I have to think about that. Some foods have weird textures - oysters, mussels etc. The taste is fine, but it is the texture that turns me off....like chewing green garbage bags! I like the addition of the goals to your signature...maybe I need to do something similar.........

:tt1::tt2: Yes, once spring is finished (there's always af ew little flurries in late spring). So, sometime the end of May... Way to go!!! Hope he isn't a transit bus driver, or air traffic controller or something where you need to be 'all work, no play"!! Yep, my parents were all about choices at dinnertime : eat it or go hungry! Damn, don't you hate it when there are rules that everyone else knows???

Welcome back! We are always extending our arms to welcome new and returning memebers! I hope that seeing you return, that other lurkers may also be inspired to come back - there is no renewal fee, or punishment!!! As for me, I need to post for my own peace of mind/stress relief/whatever...but you will know, I've had my challenges too! That's what makes this a great place...someone is sure to have had a similar experience, or give you a kick in the rear!! Love your new avatar, Lil Miss. I'm glad to see you back, Jaime; we all can understand your emotional eating at this time of great stress. You have been in my thoughts. -
Last night: Memento...2 We've watched a string of 2's recently; gotta get some good movies lined up for the weekend. And of course a mixture of golden-oldies and new...

As with others, recipe please? Spices above the stove? Not a good place for them; too much heat and humidity. I too have one cupboard 4 shelves high with cooking spices; another cupboard has 2 shelves dedicated to baking spices. LOVE to cook and bake. I will always follow a recipe the first time; after that it's a free-for-all...sometimes great results, othertimes the result is a taste disaster...but that's what cooking/baking is - experimentation. And I ALWAYS make one new dish every week...so many recipes, so little time! Wouldn't the same approach work on DH? My ex used to have a very boring/repetitive/juvenile appreciation for food. It took a few years but eventually the menu selection expanded, and there was more experimentation...but it took small incremental baby steps..."here dear, let's try adding one grated carrot to the meatloaf; I know that's not how you are used to having it made, but you like carrots, right? You like meatloaf? Well, let's just try one itty-bitty carrot grated up really tiny, and you taste it." Thank heavens DH loves to eat and loves to cook.... HM...generational? Maybe, but other respondents make me think it may be a geographical thing. And as for Ward Cleaver, you would have to wear a nice cardigan too... As long as it isn't a lifestyle!:crying: Good morning everyone. I know you are all excited to hear that yes indeed, it is snowing again here in the land of long underwear and mittens........:cursing:

My mother used to say "Don't you beat all?" And the answer is - YES!

I use the one in the clinic. Why? 1) I know that it is calibrated and tested regularly, 2) measures more than just my weight but also % body fat, etc, and 3) I don't own a scale:biggrin:. I vowed never to own an instrument of torture, and so no scales! As well, I could easily become addicted to weighing and threfore start measuring my worth by a number - a very unhealthy approach for me.

LilMiss - As your Water consumption isn't an issue, I wouldnt worry about recording it...you have enough to document as it is! Sure, rub it in, about the weather.....:mad2: -

Excellent posts, LilMiss...although I was practicing my kicks in case they were needed!:wink2::mad2: I didn't notice Water consumption on your journal. Is that an issue for you at all? If not, that's ok, but if it too is a challenge, then perhaps record that as well! What about getting rid of those Oreo's all together - by throwing them out?? It does feel great to get out and walk - I am anxiously awaiting that time here! When in California, I was out walking by 7am in T-shirt and shorts - much to the amazement/curiosity of the residents who were in long pants, long sleeves and sweaters....WIMPS!!! But here, with temps still freezing, a walk outside isn't gonna happen! Like a soap opera, I anxiously await tomorrow's installment of LilMiss's Band Journey (LBJ) -
Having my break as the winner!
