Since I am neither a transplant surgeon, nor on a waiting list for donor organs, there is NOTHING that I think is so important that I need to carry a cellphone. If I'm not at home, they can leave a message. If Im not at work they can leave a message. Otherwise, they are out of luck.

Not many movies watched over the weekend - too much company and stuff. However, did manage to squeeze in: Captain Corelli's mandolin - 2 Don't bother to knock - 2 All the Kings men - 3

Hey Slim - a quiet office is good anytime! I must have twisted my body or slept funny last night; my hip is killing me and I can't sit or stand comfortably...it is going to be a long day at the office!!
-
At the Y, did my upper body workout then 35 min on the treadmill. And for some reason, my hip is killing me...I can't even sit comfortably at my desk...argghhh! Maybe I just pulled a muscle and if I rest it today, it will be ok. Hope everyone else is doing some exercise....

Not only is it snowing, it is windy too....oh well, it will all be over in another month. Coffee is hot, and the office is quiet...

PJTP - FREAKIN' snow is falling. I can't stand it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jewelry? I haven't worn jewelry (with the exception of funky Xmas earings once a year) in several years. No chains, rings, bracelets....have a collection of stuff, just don't wear it/ Or a watch either. It freaks people out - I don't carry a cell, I don't wear a watch... And some do, don't they? I'm you could ask for a wrench, tapioca pudding and slipper and they'd have it!

Quick post... DHs other daughter just arrived and among other things brought DHs gift from his ex. OK - it's weird enough that she is giving him gifts (and me on my birthday, and christmas etc) but IMO this time she hit a new level of weirdness (with just a hint of creepiness)...the gifts included new underwear! This is the lady that has pics of her 2 ex's on the wall by her bed (just the ex's, not the children and ex's). I'm starting to think maybe she ain't over him or something...

Round 1 visitors gone; awaiting round 2. Time to catch up. Susan - 6 pounds?!? WOW! Gone - I'm sure the grandchildren are missing you too, but it is best to wait until you are better. Lulu - How's the ankle with the horse liniment treatment? Sausage and apple quiche. Slim - Cinnamon rolls are easy to make - you can make them and have them fresh and hot and dripping with sweetness to serve friends in 30 minutes. OK - gotta go make another cake now. DH is LOVING have 2 cakes...well, 3 really because my brother and his boys are coming to celebrate DHs birthday tomorrow, so that means another cake.

Don't I wish - just trade the shopping bag for a vacuum or bucket and mop! WOW - Fabulous! Snow tires stay on my car until the middle of May! Morning all. DHs daughter and partner wanted to do something different when they came for a visit so we went glo-minigolf, and then 10 pin bowling. I haven't bowled in about 35 years - what a hoot! Im making breakfast for them before they leave (I'm thinking of mini quiches, cinammon rolls[maybe chocolate ones] and fruit salad), and then once they are gone, the other daughter and her partner are coming for supper. It's DHs birthday and these 2 adult girls are fighting so they are staggering their visit....children!!

Hi Terri - Actually, I know OF you - you were the creator of the best ever thread - "I really hate it when people post just to post". I think your idea is a good one - and congratulations to your group for staying so close! That speaks volumes about all of you. let's see what my fellow VVs have to say. I don't really care if it is one active post or lots of smaller posts with activity - I just want to see my fellow VVs back in the fold.

Weather junkie? I live through too much of it to want to keep files on it (although I do have a few pics of the snow, but those are to send to relatives in California, UK etc who cannot imagine it). Nope, my eyes are dry! I can remember when in high school we watched Gone with the Wind after reading the text, and there were girls weeping, and even a few men. Me? I was saying...get over it honey! It's only a man! Well, I still have it, but I don't think any super-powers are woven within the fabric. So sorry about your foot - although I would so that intentionally if someone told me I was supposed to go running!! Try Kat's treatment, stay off of it until tomorrow when DH leaves. I can relate!!! I so understand the lab wanting to play with kittens thing, and can well imagine the chaos if the kitten and/or owners weren't happy about it.... Sounds like Rex is a sweetie - and yes, that day will be a hard one! Good luck going back to work; if it is something you enjoy that makes all the difference! But as for not eating during those hours, there's always after work......... Taking a small afternoon break; think I've caught up. Hope everyone is enjoying this day - I have dared to put the windows up a few inches - it is after all above freezing! (barely)

Well LilMiss, you can shake your booty, you can shake your fist You can shake anything Tap tops the list....
-
I enjoyed Les Mis too (although not last night ; I saw it years ago). No tears, but I did enjoy the play. (I don't think I've ever cried at plays or movie. The news, yes. Fiction? no.)

I almost spilled my coffee on that post!! Super woman....HARDLY...although I did used to have a cape!
-
Absolute silence. No music, no machinery, no traffic, no cat fights....ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Makes me just want to grab another coffee, pick up any of the books I'm reading, and just indulge... NO NO NO - It's SAturday - things to do. Go.
-
But for all that I've said, my family thinks I'm girlie! I love to sew, knit, decorate the house, garden, bake, cook...just hate the 'trappings' of dresses, makeup, purses.
-
One of the nicest baby shower cakes I've seen is done like childrens building blocks...three squares with different colored icing on the different sides, with big numbers or letters on different sides...some day there will be an occasion for me to make it! The icing sounds good - what's the proportion? Happy shopping! We can't have the VV's going around 'frumpy' - time to show off the new body with fitted nice clothes! It is Saturday morning; must get my next cup of coffee and start in on the days activities...

Ah Slim...it's a pity you are scared of animals. I can't imagine that, and my life would be a lot different (and less happy) had I not had animals. Well, as you vetoed cleaning (), what about sewing (hand or craft)? gardening? reading? baking? cooking? painting (walls or art)? some craft? scanning all old photos so that you can get rid of the albums? taking some books to the used book store? giving yourself a manicure? doing your taxes? organizing your DVDs? etc etc.... See above...I always have ideas of things to do. My problem is finding the time to do them all... I am sure there are stories you could tell.... Happy Saturday morning all? Just finishing this coffee, then I guess I will start in on the day...

In her agony, Tap shrieks loudly...which causes Gone to drop the trophy as she cover her ears. Tap grabs the prize, and hobbles away...
-
you win second prize NCs...

I'm with you...having worked animal rescues, I was frequently disgusted/sickened by what was done to 'pets'...I would not be able to face having to care for pitiful creatures that irresponsible owners brought in, or put down beloved pets.

It's worse... 'Susan' Connecting you with Fred; if incorrect say 'no'. No. Susan Connecting you with Elizabeth, if incorrect say 'no'. No. SUSAN There is no match. Sorry. Say Operator for assistance Operator There is no match. Goodbye...

Hi Shiny - I think you are making two excellent steps; good luck with them. For me, I'm a volume eater, so my challenge is to keep the snack to an appropriate size...the food is ok, but just the volume. I REALLY need to work on that. part of me says if I just give up the snack, I won't have the problem, but that's avoidance, not dealing with the issue. I have to retrain my brain - and it is a very stubborn thing!!!

My co-worker in the next office trying to make an automated voice phone directory system recognize the name she is saying...this is her third attempt at calling the system; there is no option to press a button to get a real operator, and she is speaking louder and louder....... Shalee - good music choice!
