The convenient ATM machine to my house is close to a Seniors complex. Both DH and I have at different times gone in and their cards are still in the machine, or the money is still sitting in the dispenser...we track down the person, but how many other people steal the money and the poor senior has no idea what happened to their money. Maybe it was like trainspotting - he wanted to see if any bills recirculated to him?? I'm trying to think of anything that would explain such a thing - other than just insanity! Let us know how it goes; I'd love to do that some day in the future - if ever I reach my goal weight...sigh. Hi Susan. Sorry to hear about the toe. Nope. And I hate having to move my head to look at the keyboard without waves of nausea... OK - It is finally Thursday......more coffee please!
-
P.S. Do you know how difficult it is to turn money in? While at Costco last night, I found money (bills, multiple) on the floor in an aisle. I picked them up, and tried to turn them in...they weren't mine, after all. Anyway, no one knew what to do with them. How were they going to know the rightful owner? etc. I ended up taking them because they wouldn't; the money went immediately into a charity ... but still, you would think a store would have a procedure for this, wouldn't you?

Morning everyone I have my new specs on, and it is taking time to adjust...I get seasick if I walk with them on, and whereas before I could just move my eyes down to see the keyboard, now I have to tilt my head down...that slows down my speed, and makes me nauseous. Oh well, I'll adjust. Got an outside meeting this morning; I'll check in this afternoon. have a good one.....

Fame was so fleeting, wasn't it Barb?? Now I am the winner.

Sure you can Brandy. Tune out the outside world, and read...be entertained, aggravated, joyous and sad etc
-
Ebony - for me it is the membrane of the orange slice, and the peel of the grape that can be problematic - the guts of the fruit are ok. Theoretically, DH would peel the grapes for me and remove the orange slice membranes, but as that doesn't happen, I do it for myself...

I've often said, if I could find a place that would pay me what I make now to clean, I'd dump my paying job in a heartbeat. Sadly, though lots of people want cleaning done, they don't want to pay me a comparable salary!
-
Oh Shiny, I'm sorry to hear that:sad:. Rest and take care of yourself.
-
Brandy - we are under the cone of silence; he can't hear us.

I gave one of those photo frames to my mother for Christams - so far she hasn't mentioned a 'ghost' family, but then again, if a strange photo appeared she would probably just think her eyes or memory are worsening! Good luck Susan.

Ebony - What a positive upbeat post! And such great NSV's...that should put a spring in your step!

I CANNOT relate - I LOVE to clean! Cleaning for me is therapuetic - you can see the results of your labor. As DH says, I'm the only woman he knows for whom a whiff of bleach is an aphrodesiac! Saturday mornings without a bucket and cleaners and a vacuum and rubber gloves is just not the same! Spring cleaning - washing walls and ceilings and windows ... something to look forward to! OTOH - I (along with my best girlfriend) built a cabin in a remote area (no power tools) building scaffolding, digging the foundation using shovels (no equipment), etc etc... it took a long time doing it on weekends and holidays, but the end result of a 2 bedroom cabin was so worth it. A great getaway - no electricity, just a woodstove for cooking and heat, spring fed running water, and complete isolation - miles away from civilization accessed only by hiking in for a few hours.(or by snowmobile in winter)...wonderful! Too bad I have since moved 2000 miles away, and had to leave it behind. Oh well...it was a great experience and taught me all about the mechanics of building which has come in very useful as the house DH and I own now needed complete renovation when we bought it (that was part of the appeal of buying it - to redo it) - we have gutted and rebuilt it ourselves - no contractors or tradespeople. I will put my skills at using power tools, swinging a sledgehammer, wiring a house or drywalling against anyone!

Beyond here lies nothing - Bob Dylan (more blues-y with a tango-ish beat than his usual music) Lovely

Hi Audrey - glad to see you posting! A second GREATgrandchild - wow, everyone must be very excited! I think it is time for me to have another fill, but they are such a pain to arrange - trip into the city where my clinic is, time off work, etc... but I'm now starting to be hungry all the time, and that's not a good sign!
-
But, if I facebooked, you would know who I am etc....and then the mystery of my identity would be revealed! Actually, it just seems to me it would become another addiction (ala LBT), and I don't have enough time as it is!

I know exactly what you mean...the great debate: spend the money and maybe the car will last or assume any future investment in it is money wasted... I agree! Totally outerlimit-ish phenomenon, and the tune went through my head as well. Does Mrs. Claus bake? I must go check out the photos...I starting to investigate PS, but maybe I shouldn't??? hee hee:cool2: Reminds me - I've got to get my new spectacles today - I thought they were needed because of my aging eyes, but instead perhaps it is because of the whole x-ray vision thing. I'm sure all your super awesome friends will appreciate your commitment to hirsuteness! Whew - I think I'm caught up on last evening's posts. A sunny Tuesday, a payday, AND one day closer to spring - be still my heart!

Babygirl How sweet!...and could her smile get much bigger holding the trophy?

PJTP - It's a slow day on PJTP.

I don't just think it, I KNOW it!

You must have a very close relationship with your daughter. The last person I want to talk with when I'm sick is my mother. She usually only has found out about any illnesses or surgeries etc LONG after the fact, and then only if someone else tells her. When I used to travel between 2 offices that were several hours apart through treacherous mountain passes, I would borrow someone's cell phone in case of vehicle breakdown if it were winter snowdriving conditions, but other than that, I just have not identified any need where being able to contact me immediately is essential. Whatever happens, being able to reach me or not will not change the outcome.

Shiny - Oh my goodness - your cakes are gorgeous! You are SO talented!! I can bake, but I sure can't decorate... relatively smooth icing is the best I can do, but certainly not flowers let alone nice writing etc...WOW; just WOW!!!
-
RSG - I'd love to see some of your artwork - can you post a few pics or a link to some? As for school, the advantage of going back as a 'mature' student is that you know what you want to do, and know it involves work but you also can appreciate the subject matter. What are you taking? Shiny - I looked out the window this morning and could have spit - that snow you had came to me! I am SO sick of winter, and was really hoping it was over, but no such luck! Probably another month of intermittent snow, with just enough days above freezing to hint of spring!

Babygirl - Shemust be thrilled! what kind of dance does she do? (my LBT name might suggest a type of dance I have an affection for) Lulu - how's the ankle? Susan - yes indeed, the countdown to surgery is on.
