Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!
tapshoes replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good morning all! And although it is gray and raining, it isn't snowing!!! And quite frankly, I'd prefer it rains on days when I have to work, so that when I am off I can play outside in the dirt in the sunshine! At least that's how it is supposed to be! I am back on solid foods after Saturday's touch-up fill, and so far, I'm good. The amount of food I can eat though has hit a new low...hardly worth eating! Imagine, 2 ounces of cheese and a yogurt for lunch FILLED me. dinner was a few tablespoons of Peanut Butter - I needed the Protein, but really didn't have the interest in meat. I continue to do my exercise stuff at the Y, but am getting bored with it. However, if I don't exercise, I KNOW my weight will climb, so I do it, faithfully. So RSG, how are things going this week? LilMiss - glad to read you are 'keepin on keepin on' SHiny - getting the family involved is great - they will thank you in the future when they do not have the health issues their non-active friends do. Audone, Rhapsody, Audone, Marathinner, Gibson, Wantit, Jamie - where are you? -
last night - what a waste of time...at least I could get some work done while these were on... The Firm - 2 The long kiss goodbye - 1.5
-
Nah, it just seemed my efforts (although constant) were so pitifully minor compared to the jocks, that it really wasn't worth posting. So, I continue a minimum of 4 days a week doing my stuff at the Y, but just don't post it. Sometimes work is hardly worth the effort! I probably would... I HATE snakes....as much as someday I would love to visit Australia, with all the snakes there, I'd probably never leave a car or hotel room for fear that one would jump out and attack me! Haven't had one of those yet...I'm sure my time will come! Wish I could so I could meet you all, but alas, I live a tad distance away! Hope you have a great meeting/party! Tuesday morning, and more rain. Managed yesterday on 'real foods' without a problem - other than HOLY CRAP I'm not eating much compared to any previous time. I was stuffed at lunch on 2 oz low fat cheese and a yogurt...it took me a half hour to eat that!

Where is everyone?? 3 hours and no posts?????
-
Snort!!! Last night I counted the movies lined up ready to go sitting on my table - 60+. There are hundreds more that DH thinks I need to see....like Hydra's heads, the more I watch, the more there are to watch! And of course this summer will be the latest Harry Potter AND Star Trek - JACKPOT!

Lulu - I asked this very question. My doc has given me an 'ideal but hard work' weight that does take into consideration % body fat, my age, other factors. He also has what he refers to as a 'more realistic weight/% body fat' number...that he thinks will be the one I will 'settle' at for the long term. The difference between those is about 7 pounds and both are a LONG way from where I am today.......... Part of his deliberations included my inclination (or lack thereof) to exercise...as even after all this time, I do NOT like to exercise. He figures that he won't set me up to fail by suggesting I achieve AND MAINTAIN a weight that is so contrary to my lifestyle and would require something I am not prepared to do. So, I have a 7 pound range of 'smokin to realistic'...but both put me at a low normal BMI.
-
Thanks Lulu. And as for your NSV - WOW!!
-
WOW Tina (although I like Beth's suggestion of Teena)....you look fabulous - and if that is with swelling, you are gonna be smokin' when all is said and done!!! You look positively radiant, healing quickly apparently, and most important, your mental state is exuberant and positive - that is FANTASTIC! :w00t::thumbup::w00t:

You haven't a chance Gamyj...there are a cut throat bunch of regulars who will ensure that you don't win. I of course am above all of that!

Very true Shiny. But I just hate the idea of fighting every single day...I'm a peaceloving soul!!! Way to Go, RSG!!! Congratulations! Me too!! Happy Monday morning all! Hope you all had a good weekend. I went for my fill....I am now back to the total cc's I was before my last unfill - I'm hoping this time I can keep the fill. I haven't tried 'real food' yet - I've been on liquids/mushies since Saturday morning. Today will be the test. My weight is down only 1 pound since my last fill (which was in late January)...and so far from where I need to be! Oh well, one day one meal at a time! Saturday was a beautiful weather day, but I spent 3 hours of it in the car driving to the city where my clinic is, then had my hair shorn (and I mean shorn...It is almost a brushcut), and then visited a bit with my mother took her to run some errands, then took her for a birthday dinner (which of course I didnt get to eat!). Then another 3 hours back home. Yesterday was cool and wet, so no playing outside...*tap pouts*. -
Imagine - I went 3 days and saw only 1 movie - unheard of!!! Anyway, last night watched an oldies (but new to me) One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. 4 I wonder how many people seeing that movie do not understand the last scene? DSD didn't, and it had to be explained.

So cute....baby pygmy goats... I can just imagine the lab in with the new ones trying to play... I've never heard of goat milk soap...must look for that and give a try We wondered where you were...missed you! Boing Boing I bounce too. Losing 50% of your excess weight is good, but 100% is better! My doc would certainly not be happy if people stopped at 50% though... Always! So, what's happening Susan? I hope they are nurses/docs as they are doing their own fills - cerainly would be a time/money saver! Yes indeed. Yeah Mac!! OK - I think I am caught up. It is a dreary Monday morning, after a busy weekend. Got my fill - back to where I was 2 months ago in total fill, and unfortunately only down 1 pound since then!! That is sooo discouraging, but let's hope this fill works! So far, no troubles but I haven't tested in with 'food' yet...all weekend was liquids and mushies. Today will be the test.

Happy Saturday morning all! Welcome to the world, Carson, and congrats Laura. Heading into town (3 hours away) to get a fill (see if I can get to the previous fill amount and still be able to swallow), get my mop of hair cut, and then take my mother for her birthday dinner...which will be challenging given my post-fill status. I guess it will be soup wherever we go. Catch you all later tonight/tomorrow. Enjoy the weekend!

Well, not to encourage a bad habit, but you ARE making progress. It just might be somewhat faster if you adopted a meal by meal approach.... This is the challenge for me - I know in my head what I should/should not do, but it is making my mouth obey that's the issue!!! -
I tired, and (obviously) was unsuccessful....

Morning all, and happy Friday! Although this was a short week for me, it felt just as long as a regular one - funny how that is, right? I am looking forward to the weekend - the weather is supposed to be good (at least for here), I'm getting another fill, I'm getting my mop of hair cut, and then taking my mother out for her birthday dinner (which will be interesting as I will be on liquids ). What's everyone else up to? any weekend plans? Any VVs out there lurking who want to jump in and have a chat...Cool Crystal, Ezma, MediumMike, Gibson, Audone, etc..... -
It is impolite LilMiss, for you to be seated when I haven't yet made my toast to my worthy competitors!
-
Morning........and it is finally Friday!! Do you suppose I can put LBT on ignore and just finish one report I am working on, so that I can leave early?????
-
And dancing out of the room...
-
Boy A - 3.5 Not a family, feel good, light movie. Downright disturbing on some levels. But very well-done.

RSG - As weird as this sounds, your experience was wonderful!! Not the pain part, but the reality of restriction and the band! :sneaky: -

HI RSG - It sounds like you had a great long weekend, with lots of activity - YAY! And you are right, if you are going to spend the time watching a movie, combine that with some physical activity and you are doing great! Now, if only I could use that reasoning myself - so many times I forget to drag out the knitting or cross-stitch or sewing when watching a movie.... Jamie - glad to see you posting; sorry to hear about your gall bladder...and 4 lbs lost is wonderful! So Shiny, did you go running? I was at the Y today and although I can't say I enjoyed it, at least it is daylight when I go in now, and just seeing the sunshine does wonders for my spirits! It's Thursday already, and more than half-way through April - where is the time going????
