Ahhh... another competitive soul; I hope you are a good loser!

90??? In May?? I doubt my body could handle that...although I would be more than willing to try! I'm all excited that the temp may hit 70 today.

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!
tapshoes replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Roll call! Ezma, how are you doing? Did you decide to join the gym? RSG - how about you? What did you decide about the gym? Shiny - Did you get in exercise the last few days? How is house hunting going? Jaime - How are you doing? Getting back into the 'groove'? LilMiss - where are you? How are you doing? Where are: Wantiitbad; BlessedTwice; Cool Crystal; and many others? Come on VVs - let's rally the troops! someone else send a few smoke signals; Stop lurking and post!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
You go, Fanny! What he said! OK people, posting on the PJTP thread has really slowed down...is it because spring has arrived, and we are going outside to play? Or we have run out of things to talk about?

Happy Bandiversary June - and congratulations on your weight loss to date!! WOW - halfway there, and already a size 10....such a great positive post!! I walked home last night (another brisk 35 min), and then went back out into the garden for another hour or so digging and transplanting and weeding...I hope to get out there again tonight. There is SO much to do - an average city house lot, but the previous owners did NOTHING with it resulting in a nothing-but-invasive-weeds and gravel sloped yard. I've been here less than 2 years, but so far I have built 2 perennial beds, and a herb garden - but there is still LOTS to do...it will take years to get it to where I would like it. Good thing I love to garden!
-
Congratulations!! That's a fabulous achievement:w00t: As for me, I spent some time outside on the weekend doing some gardening - digging a new bed, planting a few things, removing sod, etc. So physical work but not sustained cardio-vascular stuff. Still, I did something and that's the main thing. today I walked to work (a brisk 35 min walk), and it will be the same back home .......thank heavens it isn't raining! Hope everyone else is doing something to keep active...... just one thing more than you did last week.

PJTP - Turning on the air conditioner in an office building when the outside temperature is 63 degrees is just plain stupid! (((shivers)))

My movie watching days are slowing down...yay spring!!! This weekend, Crossing Over - 3.5

You look freakin' FANTASTIC!!! WOW!!! And only 2 weeks post-op too - unbelievable!!

Ezma - support is really important to me - hence this board. Have you decided to join the gym with your SIL? With the nice weather s-l-o-w-l-y arriving here, it is more difficult to go to the gym - I would much rather play outside in the dirt. But that isn't a total workout with sustained cardio....but it is a LOT more fun!! Shiny - That's it!! That's what I'm doing - and it took reading it in your post to realize it. I am acting as if I am in maintenance....even though I still have poundage to lose...thanks for the revelation! Now, what can I do about this? Sorry Shiny...hope you find someplace. YAY, Ezma - a pound lost is fabulous...baby steps. I need a scale loss I think, to motivate or inspire me. I'm hovering at the one weight, and as Shiny posted, I think I am in maintenance-mode - and WAY too soon for that!! Jamie - glad to see you posting. Restriction is a great thing - once we learn to live with it! But that learning curve is steep and painful! OK VVs, it's Monday; it is a new week. I did some outside work on the weekend but not as much as I wanted!!! Cardio today was a brisk 35 min walk - speeds between 3.8 - 4.2 mph. -
This from the woman who disappeared for a while without posting - leaving all of us wondering what had happened! Sorry Slim. I know that usually you and I are the Saturday and Sunday early-birds, but not this weekend. sorry to hear your computer is putz; hope it is feeling better soon.

Barb, being almost at goal means you don't need this trophy - you have won already. Soooooo, hand it over!

Heartfire - If I could send the rain, I would! It was teeming with rain when I left work last evening, so I asked DH to drive me home. I see no reason why I should get cold and soaking wet - if it was the least bit warm, I wouldn't mind, but barely above feezing and pouring rain? No thanks! And it is STILL raining - so I didn't walk to work today either. No Y for 5 days....but I did at least walk for 3 days, so as long as I do something either today or on the weekend I will meet my '4 days a week' commitment.
-
Knowing that post-surgery one must rest and not lift things that are too heavy, Tapshoes (out of genuine concern for Lilith:glare:) takes the trophy......
-
Oh Lilith, it isn't the speed, it is the end result...and I have the trophy!!!

Although spoken correctly, 'desert' and 'dessert' are frequently mis-spelled. I remember my Grade 2 teacher saying: you may want 2 Desserts (2 esses), but you would only want to cross the desert (1 ess) once. I think this every time I see LBT posts in which these words are mis-spelled.

I walked home from work yesterday, but I didn't stop at the Y...I expect them to call me soon asking why I wasn't there! I'm ALWAYS there first thing in the morning, and now, 4 days and not there??? I walked in to work this morning - but it is now pouring rain again, and I didn't bring my brolly...walking home too may not be done.
-
No Lilith, I don't think so.
-
Sorry Onehot, you have been overtaken...

There are some I have given up on...they irk me, but I seem to be the only individual whose ears are assaulted by these, and sadly, common (im)proper use has made these terms 'acceptable'. The day of the week 'Tuesday' is NOT Tooz-day, it is Tues-day. The u is included in the pronunciation, and the s is soft. If ever I were to meet you, you would be able to identify me quickly - by asking me to state the days of the week...I will be the person pronouncing it T-you-s-day. The use (misuse) of the word 'hard'. A diamond is hard. A cement wall is hard. Living the life of a bandster may be DIFFICULT. Solving an algebraic problem may be DIFFICULT.

It's strange (but nice:wink2:) not going to the Y in the mornings...but walking to work in the dark is not great fun! Yesterday it was pouring rain - my sneakers were still wet when I put them on again to go home! Today though it was dry ... so a nice brisk 35 min walk (DH calls it a race walk).

(((((((((HUGS)))))))) I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Ezma. I know your husband had been very ill; I am sure the last few months have been very stressful. Any weight gain is understandable and no one is going to comment negatively about it. The VVs are here to help, motivate, support each other. One day, one meal, one walk at a time. Keep checking in with us and we will all help each other. I missed your inspiring posts. I am glad you are back with us. Take care, my friend. -
Way to go, Fanny. Although having seen the snake pics you have posted, I would either be walking REALLLLLLY slow so that I didn't scare one, or running so fast my legs wouldn't touch the ground (I wish!).
-
I have my IPOD loaded with dance music...fast tempo only. It ranges from Chuck berry to Beyonce...as long as it is fast, then it's good. So for my routine this morning I heard: Springsteen, Elvis, Stones, Elton John, Avril Lavigne, Rod Stewart, Donna Somers, Chuck Berry, Beatles, Jive Bunny, Cher, Backstreet Boys, Jerry Lee Lewis, U2, Phil Collins, Elvis Costello, Eric Clapton,

i didn't post on the weekend - Im usually too busy. Saturday was gorgeous so after I went to the plant center to get some greenery, I came home and created and dug out a new garden bed (9 feet long 3 feet wide), then planted things. WHEW!!! That was hard on the upper body. Then spent another few hours spreading lawn seed, pulling weeds, dragging tree branches to the fire pit, doing heavy gardening.....and loved every minute of it! Yesterday did my usual routine (the cardio was brisk walking 3.8-4.2 mph) and then I walked home from work - another 35 minutes. Because of a shift change, couldn't get to the Y this morning (it isn't open until 530 am and I needed it to be open at 5 or earlier), so instead I walked to work (the BRISK 35 min in the pouring rain). I'll see how I feel about going to the Y after work.......
