Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

OMG Angie, another 5 K...I cannot imagine doing one...ever. Maybe if you added up the weekly walking amounts they would total 5 K - but not at one time RUNNING!!! EEKS!! Congrats on the exercise regime, the body shrinking, and the attitude you have. YAY Angie!!!

True? Divorce after WLS within 3 years? Why?

The same to you Slim. My thoughts are with you as well as you face this regretable situation.

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

St Louis - jumping on a trampoline, bowling and hiking - you are certainly keeping active - and doing such a variety of things. YAY you! I haven't been on a trampoline in maybe 40 years....Im not sure I'd have the stomach for it now (and of course my body parts flapping around could be both embarassing and painful)!!:sad: Lil Miss - Thanks for the encouragement...I know I need to keep at the exercise, and I am still commited to 4 days a week minimum...I just can't think of it in terms of 'for the rest of my life' because that is just tooo discouraging. You though are really into the exercise...good for you. I think we are all getting sick of playing the yo-yo weight game...up 2 down 1 up 1 down 2 .... enough already. We all want a 5 pound loss with no yoyo effect this week! (Do you suppose just demanding it will work?) A fellow gardener! Even though I live in the city, I have created a few garden beds in the last 2 years. I have my herb garden (which thankfully racoons, skunks, and other assorted critters avoid); I have my rhubarb bed - I love rhubarb; this year I have created a bed for tomatoes, onions, garlic and blueberries. Obviously the blueberries are a long term investment...and I suspect the birds will be well fed, but I just love playing in the dirt! We have also planted a fruit tree each year - again that is a long term investment, but thats what gardening is...a physical manifestation of a belief in the future! I had another successful eating day yesterday - no snacking, kept the total calories reasonable, and kept busy in the evening (if I am busy, I am not wandering through the kitchen munching). I hope everyone is going to have a great day...and an active healthy weekend!

WHOO HOO CC! That is fabulous! Thanks Susan...age is a number. So is weight. As are calories, minutes of exercise, and alcohol content. Numbers are bad. Haven't a clue what voting you are referring to, but good luck! But you will be crying for joy, right?? Last of the children is grown...independent etc. You are free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Morning all! Thanks be it is Friday...and peaking out from behind the huge black clouds is a bit of sun! I am hoping for sunshine this weekend....I wanna go play in the dirt!! Its been torrential rains for 3 days now, time for a bit of dry weather. hope all are doing well.

Susan, I am so sorry to hear of your situation. I know from previous postings that there were issues (his ex not the least of them!), but I had hoped you and your husband would find a way to work through them. However, you MUST do what is right for you whatever that is. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

What do you have to do? Anything critical for your guests pleasure? If not, other than ensure there is sufficient food and liquor, you are good to entertain. Notice how I am gracious about your options for the day rather than pissed off that it is pouring rain, t-storms, and freaking chilly here.............. Hope you have a choice of options on a new job Ebony. And good luck with the 'below 22 for July' goal. Go Ebony, Go Ebony!!! Good luck to you as well Beth. Im thinking my brain is already mush....I need to retire to give it a chance to heal!

    Help...Need a fill in Toronto

I know that one of the private labs in Toronto is doing fills as part of a contract with a Toronto clinic...maybe because it is a lab and not the clinic itself they will do a fill for someone else. It's worth a call to KMH labs.

Ummm.....Susan if at 42 you are old, those of us in our 50's must be positively ANCIENT....which of course supports that evil side of my mind that says "Why even think about plastic surgery? You are too old to reap the benefits!" **Tap with her withered fingers shuffles the papers on her desk...at least with her failing eyesight, she thinks it is her desk....**

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

Morning everyone! It just hit me - I said belated birthday to Rhap when it wasn't her birthday, and then I missed her birthday when it was - ARGHH!! So, once again, belated birthday Rhap - even though you aren't celebrating until the 30th, I'd better say it now!! A good evening in the food department - moderate amount of foods, no snacks, but once again, little activity. I just must make myself go to the Y and push a little more......blech! The conference I am attending begins june 8th (travelling on the 7th)...At the beginning of May I had hoped to be down another 10 pounds by then, but instead I will concentrate on just holding the weight I am and NOT bouncing again!!! (Losing would be better, but I'm not going to obsess on it and make myself miserable). How is everyone else doing? Diva? Angie? RSG? CK? Jamie?

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

Diva - You're back - yay!!!!!!!! I hope your move was smooth, and everything is getting back to normal (including your posting regularly:laugh:) Your holiday weekend sounded good, and your weather great. Where are the other VV's? Hellooooooo??????? Yesterday I didn't get in my physical activity - I stayed at home, and did housework (the usual vacuuming and washing floors plus washing baseboards, and doors, etc) and did about 12 loads of laundry, and ironed (2 hours - DH and I both wear suits so lots of shirts), etc. So I didn't sit all day but I didn't exactly do the usual cardio routines either! However my eating was good...no snacks, no nuts, no peanut butter... Oh well back to the usual routine today.....

I'm experiencing the same thing, Fanny. And I too do NOT like it. Morning all. Yesterday was a good eating, bad action day...my food consumption was fine, but I was a blob. I didn't go to the Y, I didn't go to work...I stayed at home and did cleaning, and housework, and ironing etc, but no real activity. Oh well, that was yesterday. Today is another day......pouring rain, threatening t-storms and all!

G4E - I am sorry your family is going through such stuff; perhaps your daughter is going to leave SIL permanently one day,it just will take time (or some incident). In the meantime, she and her kids are fortunate that you are there to be her rock. michele - tracking food is such a pain in the proverbial, but it does force you to look seriously at what one eats. I do it periodically, and am always frustrated/depressed when I see what I've consumed. My last review of my eating highlighted the nighttime snacking I was doing, so I am trying to give that up. My efforts have been somewhat spotty, but I am trying! Susan - Sorry to hear that your home life is difficult at the moment. (((Hugs))) Luluc - a 24mile bike ride - WOW! I think I could go 24 minutes - maybe! Even another walk last evening didn't loosen up my muscles yesterday...I must have really stretched some previously untapped muscles in my gardening escapades! Back to work now..

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

My update: yesterday I had another walk in the evening, and did a lot of housework, but still didn't work out all 'the kinks'.... My eating yesterday was good - no nighttime snacking, and really careful on what I ate. Let's see if I can keep it up - although I am trying for 1 day at a time now!

Nicole - I too have been thinking (wistfully) about plastic surgery...but the money is a major stumbling block. Part of me wants to just 'bite the bullet' and let VISA pay for it, but the other part of me says 'Are you nuts?!?!? You're still paying off the surgery (i was self-pay), and at your age are you really going to get the value for money from surgery????" Now Nicole, there is no such thing as perfection, but I am all for being as good as you can be (and can afford to be) For me, IF I were to get PS, it would be to hoist 'the girls' north of the equator, and then a TT. The boob job seems to be the least invasive, the TT - eeks - I've seen a lot of the post-op pics and it looks painful. And of course the recovery period would be long....

G4E - I hope things get straightened out with your family. Family battles are terrible, and the impact on children can be devastating. SMSmith - great to see you posting...it's been a while! Beth - I notice the link to your blog is off your signature; still blogging? I hope everyone is enjoying the day - whether you are off or working! I spent a great 2 days playing in the dirt - so much so that I forgot to do housework, laundry or eat lunch! I didn't get to the Y today - too sore from the gardening escapades. I walked for 30 min this morning trying to loosen and limber up, and even that hasn't done too much for my muscles. Im sitting enjoying a break, sipping my coffee and doing some laundry, before I return to my regularly scheduled activities! Catch you all later!

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

Good morning everyone! Nicole - I too did a lot of gardening - so much so that I forgot to do laundry, housework, or even to eat lunch yesterday! There is lots to do in my yard, so as long as the weather holds, I will be outside burning up those pesky calories! I didn't get to the Y today - I was too stiff to move! Even walking for 30 minutes didn't loosen all the joints; but there is always later today(if I get motivated). I'm going to enjoy this second pot of coffee, and then get back at it...I am doing some laundry too...have to unless DH and I want to go to work tomorrow minus some clothing!

Shiny - congrats on the garage sale...and what a great idea selling some baked goods at the same time! I'm sure the cin buns were a success! I spent 3+ hours digging soil, removing sods, wheeling buckets of compost etc..very little planting, but lots of prep work. I was supposed to go outside and plant today (I spent a 'whack of money' on perennials yesterday....eeks!), but it's raining - WHICH WASN'T IN THE FORECAST!!!!!!!!! As for food, I ate very little - not as a plan, but I was too busyy, then too dirty, then too tired! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

Morning everyone! HOpe you are all planning for a fun, safe holiday weekend!! I'm heading out into the garden shortly - lots to do!! I had another moderately good day yesterday - not great, but not horrific either. Time to get outside and burn some calories to compensate...but I don't think BBQ is on my menu today. I'll try to take it easy in the food department - DH is working evenings so it'll be just me to feed. This should make it easier, right???? Play safe, drive sober everyone!
