Morning everyone! It's raining again/still and the forecast high is 68 - sixty-frickin-eight in July. That is just NOT right - even for here! I want a rebate on this summer!!! Ebony - Others have given good advice - bottom line get outta there as fast as you can, and with all the grace you can muster. A previous work experience with a note on a person's file is not the first thing that is used to 'sort' candidates - qualifications first and relevent experience. Then interviews. At the interview you dazzle them but you acknowledge a challenge in operational styles with your current employer. You don't hide it nor magnify it. Then when they check the references they see this, are not surprised, appreciate your honesty and hire you. This isn't your only job in your history; you have much more than this one employer to use as a reference etc. You can do this. Lu - zucchini bread, zucchini pickles, zucchini relish, I used zucchini in choc cake (adds moisture but isn't evident)....love zucchini. And KC's stuffed zucchini - wonderful!! I used to grow a LOT of zuc - entire beds of it. G4E - Ummm...your head traction thingie sounds very painful and somewhat kinky - be careful. Heartfire - you will survive this weekend, you will survive this weekend Beth - I really hope your hear something this week; meanwhile, get that school stuff in order. PJTP - I'm bored.

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!
tapshoes replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Morning everyone! Yeah, Shiny is back! Yesterday my band was VERY finicky...I didn't get 'food' into me until the late afternoon, and that was my morning smoothie! However, by 7 or so in the evening, I was ravenous - and had 1/2 turkey breast filet with an onion sauce, and some cherries and a handful of granola. Then just before bed, I had a few tbsps of peanut butter. I know, not a great choice, but I really wanted to get my protein in. Today, so far, so good. YEAH on the NSV! It's wonderful you met up with Jaime and St. Louis...I'd love to meet all of you someday, but I don't see it happening in the short term. Maybe someday. LilMiss - I am so sorry for what you are struggling with! Yes, go for an unfill - and get yourself back to a place where you can have a healthy relationship with food. Where you can eat solids, have more than 1 tbsp and enjoy! You are correct - how you are eating now is NOT healthy - physically or psychologically. Get an unfill. EXACTLY!!! Yes indeed! I get frustrated/concerned when I read the newbie posts about getting a fill on a schedule rather than based on a NEED...not a desire to lose X pounds quickly. Where are the VVs today? -
Morning all! I'm working from home today; I somehow twisted my neck/shoulder and am challenged to rotate my head. As I walk to/from work, this could present a challenge in crossing roads safely! So, I decided to work from home and give it a bit of a rest. I am very disciplined about work, so I know I will get stuff done and not spend all day here! Heartfire - YEAH on the walk. That's great! g4e - Do what the doc says! Next time if you are visiting and don't have your ice thingie, see if they have a bag of frozen veggies or something. Fanny - put the choc in the fridge, or at someone else's desk (although I do like KC's idea of a pic plus a sign of the cost of your PS) OK - I'll check in later.
-
Now THAT'S a mental image I wish I didn't have!! Oh, but wait, we are talking about his stetson, right? There, that's tolerable.

Morning Ezma and my other fellow VVs - I know you are out there even if you aren't posting! The computer alarm finally stopped around 930 - many in the office were almost stark-raving mad by then!! Re: You lost a pound - YEAH!! And you realized your weakness, and tried to resist...awareness is half the battle. It's being unaware that is a real problem. Besides, they were Peanut Butter Cookies...it's understandable (you remember my weakness for all things with nuts). I'm having a tough morning with the band today - it just does NOT want to let me have anything...and of course, the more it resists, the more anxious I get which means the tighter it gets. So, I'm nursing my coffee and trying to ignore it...then when it isn't looking, I'll get my Protein smoothie in!! -
Holy Crap! Yesterday morning Lu and I were lamenting/commentingo n the lack of LBT activity - I check in today, and you've gone wild! Love it love it! KC - Great to have you join our PJTP family/cult! Lu - You have WAY more tolerance for a neighbor and their offspring than I! Child would not have come near the truck on the second visit, and mother of said hellion would be asked to discuss restitution. Fanny - Good luck on this potential buyer. Chiro's - nope, no one is getting near my neck. Ebony/Glou - I hear ya!! The best reward I gave myself on this weight-loss journey was a bra fitting and buying the right sized (and expensive!) bras. They fitted SO differently, I couldn't believe the difference. Of course, now they don't fit, and although alterations have been done, they are soon to be discarded. Regular store bra shopping - YAHOO G4E - That's great to hear. Do what you are told to the 'T'. Ebony - Hope Jillian relaxes for you. I too am struggling today - couldn't get my first cup of coffee down, and I'm a 'pot of coffee' before I get out the door person! I'm now suffering caffeine withdrawal I think - I'm at lest 6 cups behind my norm. My parents were of the 'it takes a village to raise a child' school, which they interpreted as every adult can discipline as they see fit if the child is on their property. And since all parents thought the same way - kids and parents alike were 'in tune'. Poor behavior was NOT tolerated, and the repercussions were swift! My nephews and niece, and honorary nephews and nieces ALL know that I do NOT tolerate bad behavior, I am a stickler for manners in speech and action, and that I will act if I need to. Jury duty - would love to do it; have never been called. susan - Glad to see you posting, and it's great to hear all is well. Plain - missing all the nekkid action - how unlike you! OK - Gotta try and get another cup of coffee down....

lulu - it seems it is just you and me here...was it something I said???

Happy Monday, everyone! At the moment I am listening to an alarm in the computer room ring/shriek...it is postively deafening, and so far, no help from the helpline. I will call again at 8am, and if that doesn't bring satisfaction, I think I will just go into the room and start unplugging!!! I'm with you Ezma, the preference would of course be that the economy turns around, but having a rental income propoerty would be good too. I hope your insurance situation gets resolved soon. That's great Lil Miss...resistance. Sadly, like those encountering the borg, my resistence is futile!! (for those sci-fi fans) I've never made it to the Calgary stampede...seems like it is a BIG event though! Its great your have a lapband support group; sadly because my clinic is several hours from me, I can't avail of the support group. Hope you all engjoyed your dinner! You are so right; if we can find the trigger or the stumbling block we are partway to addressing it. It is great that you are working through your issues, Ezma and your 'can do' attitude will be a big factor in the success I KNOW you will have. To all of us - keep swimming! We can do this! -
Morning everyone! As I type there is an alarm on the server going - a high pitched squealing alarm. And of course, the helpline isn't responding...I'm going insane listening to it, and if someone doesn't respond soon to my messages, I am going to unplug the d*** thing! Hope you all had a good weekend - the volume of LBT PJTP chatter was certainly down. But your tickets have your weight on them?? Glad to hear about the dog. Were the ice-cream cookie sandwiches a hit?? Demolitionn emergency response support...now THAT'S an idea! YAY to your son; BOO-HISS to your co-worker! Yes indeedy, just the kind of comments that make us feel so nice and happy inside!!!:cursing:

While the applause thunders, Tapshoes graciously accepts the trophy, and thanks all of those who went before her...

Morning everyone! Why does it have to be dreary on my Saturday? I want to be outside playing in the dirt, and it is raining...again. Kat - glad to hear your DH is fine; sorry to hear about the deer though. Poor thing; hope she didn't have little ones that are unable to survive. I love driving trips except for the road kill carnage that I see. It breaks my heart...whether it is a skunk, a turtle, a groundhog...whatever. Beth - What a beautiful vehicle. I'm with you - just the car, not the obligations please! Heartfire - Hope your dog is ok. Re: the driveway...you have no idea how many people somehow believe it is communal property. There is a school bus pick up close by, and during the school year parents would drive into my driveway and wait for the bus. On one memorable occasion, I politely asked the driver to move as she was blocking MY car from getting out, and she launched into a tirade about my selfishness, etc. After that, DH and I parked the cars to prevent people from entering either part of the driveway, but it is such a pain to do that. And besides, I shouldn't HAVE to! Lulu - The mac and cheese sounds decadently delicious. The 105 degrees outside though sounds sorta HOT...surely people don't go running or other silly things in that kind of weather?!? To cap the day yesterday: my office window looks over to the city's basilica and I spent some time watching the funeral (or at least watching the church grounds where video was set up and hundreds of other people were participating outside) for a local police officer killed in the line of duty. At the end of the service when the casket was being brought out, the various police force officers stood should to shoulder along both sides of the sidewalk as an honor guard. I was astounded/ angered/ appalled/ disgusted by the number of people walking in front of the church who would push between the officers and cross to the other side of the sidewalk - just because they had somewhere to go in a hurry. Such disrespect! Then when the assorted marchers and bagpipers and motorcycle escort etc were leading the hearse and family cars to the cemetery (all roads were closed to traffic for this), there were people who didn't think they were moving fast enough I guess, and would again cut in front of the procession, barge through with their shopping carts, bicycles, strollers...Every one of those people should have been glad that I was in a tower and not on ground level or I think there would have been some serious bodily injured inflicted by me - and I am a peace-loving pacifist!! Where is respect and common decency? It doesn't matter who the service was for, you should always should respect for a service for the deceased...that it was for a police officer killed in the line of duty protecting the likes of these people was just adding insult. The common element - from the vantage point I had, I could see that they were all 'young' (to me) people - late teens, early 20's... The most touching moment - the police officer's partner who was badly injured in the same event, was brought by ambulance from the hospital to attend the service on a stretcher bed; the ambulance then also formed part of the procession. It was reported in the news that a trauma physician, a nurse and a respirologist volunteered their time to escort the officer as her medical condition was somewhat precarious and she was adamant she was going - with or against medical advice. I had an unpleasant day; the officer's family had a worse one. So, I got over it.

Un-effin-believable…and it isn’t even 930. First, I had three dreams last night after which I would wake up, check the clock, and then go back to sleep. In EACH of these dreams, a co-worker would appear dressed in red and keep saying “I’m looking for wet sushi. I want wet sushi.” Over and over. In dream one, I tried to talk with her about it “What’s wet sushi? Etc” but she would just robot-like keep repeating I’m looking for wet sushi….drove me friggin nuts. And three dreams of it - ARGGHHHH! After this restless night, I get up early and get ready to get to the Y. I walk out the front door –in the driveway there is a car that isn’t mine with a man in it. My driveway is semi-circular and so people have started using it as a U turn facility….I walk up to the car and say politely “Good morning, May I help you”. In response he starts cursing and swearing on me, telling me to get the ‘f’ out of his way, f’in bitch, can’t I see he’s in a effin hurry stupid mother f*** etc……. After pealing out of the driveway, and I recapture my sensibilities I continue on my walk to the Y …only to witness a car accident…I’m at that for about an hour as people are giving statements etc. Fortunately, no deaths, maybe minor injuries. Not to be deterred, I continue to the Y; then walk to work. I come in the office late (for me) and proceed to the office. I go to get my thermos of coffee from my lunchbag only to realize I left it in my locker at the Y. I am NOT happy. Thinking the worst is over (I mean, I’m in the office, what can happen) I go to get some hand cream from the pump bottle on my desk, and it squirts all over my shirt and pants … ALL over them…In frustration I yell out, Coworker comes to see what’s happening, and then starts to laugh…I have this white strip across my shoulder, chest and stomach of hand cream, and then when she sees it is also on my pants, that’s it…we both lose it and start laughing harder. others who have all heard about my morning are then shown me in my handcream glory and J advises me to go home; I’m jinxed. Get out! D thinks I need to go home, go to bed and start again tomorrow. I’ve blotted as much of the handcream off as I can, but of course it is oil based and has now stained my shirt and my good dockers. I am waiting for the next thing to happen.:tongue_smilie:

I'm a rules kinda gal...I don't believe we need 80000000 laws, just an appreciation for 'life rules'. Basics such as: 1. If it isn't yours, don't touch it. 2. Before saying/doing anything, think of how it will affect someone else. That covers everything from an able bodied person parking in a designated disabled spot, expectorating on the sidewalk, playing loud music at 2am, driving styles....and so on) 3. Respect the person - you may not like their ideas/music/politics/religion/decorating style/ lifestyle - but that is immaterial, you respect the person.(Obviously until such time as they have demonstrated that they are not deserving of respect, and then ignore them) 4. If you disagree with a law/rule, work within the rules to change it. 5. Respect the environment and all the creatures....even snakes. 6. Don't lie, don't cheat, don't intentionally hurt someone. simple. Imagine how easy life would be.... And now I must return to the Rhohan Fanfare (from the LOTR soundtrack).....

PJTP: I have an eclectic music collection...the last 4 songs on my IPOD were: Charlotte Church singing Amazing Grace; Billie Holiday - Strange Fruit; Usher's Here I Stand; Fleetwood Mac with Rhiannon. You may now resume normal postings....

Hmmmm......no entries since I posted yesterday?? Well, I'm still here; maybe you are all out enjoying the summer weather. Play safe, eat healthy, check in with us.... -

As the profession's representative on professional practice standards and conduct, I am involved in the investigation from beginning to the end. Wish I didn't have to be...but then again, I'm the goodie-two-shoes who really can't understand why someone would ever do anything outside the law (of society or decent behavior). LIfe is just so much easier if you follow the rules...
-
When you meet that person, ask her if she has seen me???
-
Well, it is bad for the fool who cheated, but deserved. However, as it will become a legal issue, it's a real PITA for me....documentation out the ying-yang; statements; interviews; professional conduct meetings............... I hate that it has to be done; am astounded that anyone would do it; and pissed off on the colossal waste of time and money to educate this person. Idiot!
-
PJTP - Why would someone who has just spent years of their life preparing to enter a profession, cheat on the national licensure exam?? YEARS of education lost, countless tens of thousands of dollars in education spent, no chance to ever sit the exam again, and now an entry on a criminal record........................and worst of all, I have to deal with the fallout of this person being caught...this will take months to deal with! Why would anyone risk everything?
-
Who calls you confused? She? She who? Who's on first....

Brandy - when She is in the states.

Morning everyone! I later this morning i it's been chaotic at work, and Im feeling a bit of pressure, so thought I would take a few minutes to pop in here and have a sanity check! Ezma - the house hunting? Is it for your mother or friends, or just a fun thing to do? But anything that keeps you out of the house when renovations are ongoing is good! The dust and noise generate endless chaos...and who needs that?? Angie - Don't say that; I was hoping the deer and rabbits might be satisfied with the lovely collection of weeds growing on my lawn....
