  1. Aubrie - your experience was certainly horrific! Hope things settle to normal. My gallbladder (along with a long list of other body organs) was removed years ago. No history of gallbladder issues in my family either. I'm just 'lucky', I guess! :smile2:

Two goals hit on my 6 month bandiversary

WOW!! 2 goals on one day - you must be floating!! Keep it up...the good work I mean, not the weight! :smile2:

Thursday morning - come on, long weekend!:smile2: Living somewhat north of SNT, the only variation on the treatment of criminals approach would be to put them on islands in the Arctic Ocean. Lifers, gang members, and pedophiles. They could roam all they want - no matter where they go it will be ice and snow.

    Just keep swimming literally

Hey RSG - I too have taken up swimming about 3 months ago. I can't say I love it, but it is less repugnant than other forms of exercise! My committment to myself is to exercise 4 times a week, and swimming is something I do with less drama and delaying tactics on at least 2 of those days. My duration varies - some days I can do significantly more laps than others, but I make myself swim until I can't anymore. Maybe the VV's need an exercise thread....

    Weird..

This entire story is so sad ... but most of all, the loss of that young life.

On another topic...Is it 'everyone who has an IQ equal to or less than their age call me at the office day'????:cursing: I love my job, I love my job, I love my job...if I say it enough times it will come true, right??

OMG - Just so many posts to which to respond....arghhh, I'll never catch up! Fairy - Congrats! SNT - honey mustard on fries is...blasphemous! Plain - Such strong features in your new avatar...why, it's almost like you are there in real life watching over us! To gravy lovers - eww! Ick! There is no need for gravy at any time on any food - what a horrid thing to do to such nice foods. Best sandwich: There's a tie. Toasted bacon and tomato or toasted peanut butter with spanish onion! I like the idea of a LBT baby pic thread as long as you don't have to be preggers to look at the pics, 'cause that isn't gonna happen! (Age and hysterectomy are contributing factors to my choice!)
  9. Yesterday (still feeling a little sick) B: tried a smoothie...managed about 2 mouthfuls S: sipped a little more of the smoothie L: sipped a little more of the now warmish smoothie - ick D: about 3 mouthfuls of chicken S: managed 1 single serving ff jello

Grilled cheese dipped in ketchup... delicious! You never pour/blob ketchup on food, rather the ketchup is neatly pooled on the side of the plate and the french fry or tip of the grilled cheese sandwich is dipped ever so gently.

    Lets find our friends again

Hi Sadie...YAY is right! 60 pounds gone - that is fabulous! And (nosy soul that I am) I really would like to know how your TT journey progresses. Have you already met with a plastic surgeon? How did you find him/her? Relative to the cost of the band, is the TT more/less/about the same?

    Let's talk booze!

I've never heard them described that way before! :crying: I've never tasted a martini, and the few times in the past when I've had mixed drinks (or what I call umbrella drinks), I've found them WAY too sweet. Beer, or a really dry - almost burn your throat dry - wine or whiskey/scotch/rye on the rocks were my drinks of choice.

Pick a rant topic, any topic!

If there is sufficient traffic on a major street at a key intersection to warrant a separate turn lane, why isn't there an advanced turn signal?

HELP! A question im embarrased to bring up

Mentioning the lap band would only be in the context of providing a full history to the doctor - there is nothing 'special' about it anymore than mentioning if you've had your tonsils out or any other surgery. Physicians should always know your complete history. Some gynaecologists have a nurse remain in the exam room - if you would like that, ask if the doc does it; if that would make you more uncomfortable, tell the doctor. I echo telling the receptionist when you book the appointment that this is your first gyn exam; a good receptionist will ensure that the doc knows and takes the extra time that may be needed to do the complete history, and to spend some time answering your questions. As someone who ended up with significant uterine growths (leading to an early hysterectomy and other unpleasant things associated with cancer), trust me - your health is more important than a few minutes of embarassment.
