There's a hilarious (and a tiny bit sad) thread on this site where peeps confess their indulgences. It's called (something like) "Just putting it out there so dirty little secrets can see the light of day" Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App

  9. Ugh! That sux that peeps are doing that to you. As if we aren't nervous enough. I've been lucky with everyone I've told being very supportive. The one person that said something like that to me was also very overweight and is an exersize junkie. I thought for sure out of anyone she would understand my struggle.Good luck on Monday! We'll be thinking of you. Check in when you are able. Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  10. Just a quick tidbit: the sleeve started out as a stepping stone to bypass. And sometimes is still used that way. They sleeve a person, and then later on go back and do bypass. Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  11. Thank you for sharing! Glad you are doing so well. Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  12. Yes, it almost feels like when I take a sip it sits at the top of a funnel and then five seconds later I feel it go through to stomach with funny noises. I wonder if that has to do with the hiatal hernia I had repaired. It doesn't hurt but is definitely uncomfortable Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Someone post op called it the death rattle, lol. She said I'd know what she meant when I heard it, and not to let it freak me out. Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App

Ok, so here's the pep talk I give myself when I smell something good and am tempted to cheat on liquid diet. Maybe it'll help someone else. "Hang in there! You are sooo close. When you smell something good, get up and brush your teeth. Or smell something peppermint, lemon or whatever scent you like. Drink a bunch of things to get through it, whether its mint tea, Vitamin Water Zero, broth, etc. You can do it! Remember you will be able to eat things you love again in a couple of months, just in normal portions" WE GOT THIS! Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App

Day 1 of liquid diet down! Wasn't bad. I'm a little hungry now and hoping I can get to sleep, but was pretty comfortable all day. Kept myself busy which helped. Good luck to everyone starting tomorrow, and also for those having tests done. Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App

Going really well so far, I started the 12th so I have 8 more days to go! I am struggling to get my Water in(any suggestions would be awesome) but I really like my Protein shakes so I really haven't been hungry. I do notice all the food advertisements more which makes me a little emotional but, I know that I'm better off following the path I'm on. Good luck to everyone we are getting really close now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App One trick I've used to get water in is i bought a glass 64 oz pitcher and fill it in the morning. I dont mind room temp water so I keep mine on kitchen counter where i can see it regularly. Then I try to drink it all b4 bedtime. Another is I bought a 32 oz drinking bottle for when Im away from home. I know I just have to drink two of those for the day. Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App

  24. It's probably crossed a lot of peoples mind. I know a lot of people also follow that diet after the sleeve in order to help further take of weight and maintain in the long run. You have to decide whats best for you. If you are not sure, you can always set your surgery date out a while longer. For me, I know that the newness of the diet would wear off and without the tool of my sleeve, I'd be right back where I am now, plus some. Good luck, and it's your journey so do what's best for you ???? Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
