Restriction and daily calories
ramona5555 replied to even11's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm exactly the same! Lost NOTHING for 3 months. I eat about 1000 a day. Dr said stop the shake. Nut said too MUCH protein, add small fruit, then dr said no fruit, add shake....I'm so confused! I've tried changing what I eat, how much, increased activity, increased water, etc. a friend that is about a year out said it happened to her too, said one day just started falling off quickly again. I'm praying for that day! Lol -

Everyone said it but really really take it to heart.....DRINK YOUR WATER! :-) :-) :-) it makes such a difference and getting dehydrated feels really bad. I was out of it when I came home and thought I was getting in all my fluids but wasn't. By day 3,4 I was in bad shape. My mom came to the rescue, took me to her house, read my instructions and got me back on track. By day 5 I was a different person. Doesn't matter if you eat but you have to get in your Water. Good luck! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

Enormous Weight Loss: Just the Tip of the Iceberg.

Our self talk can be really harsh towards ourselves. You are you, beautiful before and beautiful after. I decided to use the hurtful things people said(whether intentional or out of ignorance) to fuel compassion towards others that are in the nightmare of obesity. I know better than anyone what it feels like and I'm going to do my best to treat everyone with the love and respect we all deserve.:-) congratulations on conquering this debilitating disease! I'm barely 35, have the usual high bp, sleep apnea, pre diabetic, and terrible migraines, tried every diet known since I was in my 20s, I'm now 55 and have surgery date of August 22.... I'm nervous but have no second thoughts. I need to do something....everything else has failed. I just want to feel good.....I'm tired of lugging around all this weight....ready for a change! :-) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App -

I get so sick of sweet...I've been drinking flavored Perrier and even though it's slightly bitter, over ice it helps cut all the sweet. I just keep trying to focus on how I'll feel losing some before the BIG day :-) my headache last night turned into another migraine but took meds and passed out...this morning feel pretty good....I'm like Bob...baby steps to the elevator.....lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

Did i really need the surgery?
ramona5555 replied to jaysmm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, just wanted to say, my stats are similar except I'm 55...But I was like this when I was in my 20s...today I am pre diabetic, have had high BP for years, can't sleep for more than hour or two at a stretch, joints ache, and I have severe dibilatating migraines. My surgery date is coming up and I'm really hopeful...if all goes well, and I expect it to(I'm a glass half full kinda gal) I know I will wish I had done it in my 20s and avoided all the pain and self loathing of losing only to gain back what I'd lost and more....I think when you doubt, start listing all the positive outcomes of your surgery....remember why you needed it in the first place. In my 20s I thought I could control everything....I now know better...my body fights me to stay at a high weight...my good intentions, planning, self pep talks, did not keep the weight off. I'm great at losing...But horrible at keeping it off. Good luck in your journey Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App -

Premier Protein...
ramona5555 replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm pre op, waiting for insurance approval, dietician has me transitioning over to the high Protein low carb diet and so I've been trying out the different Protein drinks... Reading through this site daily, I see so many say their taste for certain foods has changed after surgery...makes me leary to stock up on anything even if I like it now...did this happen to everyone post surgery? The taste change? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App -

I have been lurking for several weeks and this morning sitting here feeling bad after another bad night with a migraine. I was sitting here reading everyone's comments and thought how much this forum has helped me so I think I should write too...maybe it well help someone...maybe it will help me. I had my initial consult on the 21st. I am like so many others, I've been up and down all my life. Tried every diet, exercise, how to book that came along. Some worked for a time but eventually the weight piled back on and each pound brought a friend. The decision to get sleeved was pretty much a no brainer. I have had every emotion you can have, excited, worried, scared, eager, angry, disgusted, happy, relieved, anxious, nervous, ashamed, proud, resilient, defeated, determined.....to name a few. I've combed through my pictures, saw myself at my best and at my worst. I know this journey won't be easy. I'm eager to start one minute and too tired the next. I spent last night gasping for breathe which resulted in yet another massive migraine. I had planned on shopping for Proteins, containers, etc. Things I would need for the up coming surgery but lack of sleep, sore head and hang over from the migraine meds has me sitting here, instead of out in the cool hours of the morning enjoying my day off and doing something interesting. I hate this body. But I love me....so I will continue to fight...keep struggling...to move forward. I'm in the valley for now but I am ever more determined to claw, crawl and fight my way out of it! ...starting with the first step.... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App -

I waited all day yesterday for phone calls to schedule my procedures...my advocate said she faxed everything last Friday....got nothing...so I called the sleep study place and no they hadn't received anything on me...I was able to give her my info and get the ball rolling on that...called my advocate and left message....I can see this is going to be something I have to push to get everything scheduled. Since I made my decision I haven't wavered...not once. Sometimes I feel sad that I got to this point that I have to do such a drastic thing but then I focus on how I will be a year from now...that really makes me smile!
