Hi everyone! I'm actually pre op, but wanted to ask if anyone has had any problem with absorbing their medications. Also, with Psychotropics, the meds that once made you gain weight-does it still, or does it get in the way of your weight loss? And also with psych meds, if you have changed your meds to ones that would be less likely to affect your weight, what are they and are they as effective? Thanks in advance everyone!!

Hi, I'm also pre-op and looking for the best tasting Protein drink/shake. I have tried Premier Protein and the aftertaste/chalkiness and sweetness are too much for me. I need one that has absolutely no flavor or one that really tastes good. Pre made or powder-doest matter. Thanks! Whats your favorite and why??

How are they on carbs, sugar, Protein and calories. For example, the mint chip? Thanks. I did Herbalife like a hear ago, but wasn't watching the stats I need to know. I thought all the ones I tried were so delicious! Do you have to add protein, or does the shake itself have enough protein? Thanks! -

I've tried vanilla and caramel. I have chocolate and Banana in my fridge to try next. Thanks. I just got 7 $3 off a 4 pk coupons so I'm going to get some more this week. I mean they're not terrible or anything. I was just hoping for something better. They remind me of those canned slim fast I drank as a kid! LOL I would hope the market had improved! But, I'm going to try these suggestions pre-surgery. Thanks all!! -

I live alone and just wondering...if I am coming home alone and no one will be there for me, will I be okay? Or should I hire someone for a day or two?

I was wondering, if picking up heavy items could give me a hernia, then could pushing your bowels when it comes to constipation and gas do the same? Any thoughts or feedback is greatly appreciated!

If you don't mind my asking, what products did you find and use that kept you regular? I'd love to know!

Medication Absorption
Jennifer Deen replied to Jennifer Deen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's exactly what I want to know. I'm currently taking Pregabalin, Metformin, Cyclizine and Morphine. I was wondering about how the RXY bypass especially might affect medication absorption. I've just started looking into this, so please do feel free to suggest a good starting point. I won't see a surgeon for quite a while as my clinical psychologist has said I have to lose 5% of my bodyweight before she'll start the funding request process. Thanks Hi, I don't know about the various meds, but while I was reading about Bi-Polar meds, I came across Morphine and pain meds, and it was talking about extended release and immediate release, and for some reason they were saying Morphine was one of the only pain meds that was being absorbed in the patient studies. Don't know if that helps, but just thought I'd throw that out there.
